The only thing I don't like about the one I have is that it doesn't have a head band to keep it on mouth so my hands are free, I had to make a custom elastic band for that.

My unit broke and was giving a blue flashing light and that led me here where I found no solution, I am a DIY guy by nature, I decided to open and see what's wrong, circuit is encased in a plastic box with gasket to isolate it from water, I was guilty of washing it before I got this blue flashing light, I dried the circuit very well while being extra careful not to break any of the thin wires and tested it, all good, then put it back together and I was enjoying the mist again!

This machine works nice and I don't get it with the bad reviews, just handle yours with care and it will be fine, mine in over 1 year old now.

DO NOT waste your money!
February 15, 2021

I wasn't impressed with the My Purmist Free to begin with, but I've only had it for TWO months and it has officially stopped working. It doesn't keep a charge very long and it was soooo slow starting up. Maybe I got a bad one? Idk. Either way, I'm disappointed.

I bought a purmist several years ago so it is the classic that uses electricity. I've used it a few times when I've had sinus problems in the fall. I recently moved to a different state and somehow lost the plugin. I called the toll free number that was on my material and was referred to the website. The website didn't offer this item for purchase. I emailed customer service and they immediately got back with me and sent me a plugin free of charge. I have not had any issues with customer service and I highly rate them with a five-star rating

If I could give this product NEGATIVE stars I would. I opened this brand new box, followed instructions and it worked great for about one minute before the blue lights began blinking and it stopped working.

Don't waste your money. If it worked the way it's supposed to it would be great but after a few uses mine quit working altogether. The plastic piece that secures the mast to the unit is designed stupid and cracks easily. The power cord assembly is designed stupid and after a few uses my purmist doesn't work. The purmist was a good idea if it was made to work but all in all its a piece of expensive sh#t

I purchased the cordless MyPurmist and received it April 3. It functioned until April 5th and when not turn on, Just flashing blue lights.
I contacted MyPurmist and was informed they would not honor the warranty because I'd purchased it from Amazon. The device and customer service really sucks, Would never buy again or recommend to purchase

An utter waste of money, would have been better off throwing a hundred plus bucks out the window! Worked fine the first two times I used it. Next time I filled the tank and it leaked all over the counter before I even got around to using it. Trying to access the website to contact their support desk as the product information tells you to do. The website does not work so this has been an absolute waste of my time and hard earned money.

Disappointing
December 5, 2019

Unit purchased new for me, by my wife, based on the many airings of the commercial touting its effectiveness.
After the 2nd use, it lost some of its its steaming properties but was still effective. After the 5th or 6th use, it started to smell like when you burn something on the stove.
Then last attempt to use it, it released hot air but no longer steamed the pure mist water bottle water.
Customer service is lacking. Expensive for a product that should have functioned as promised for much longer period of time.

MyPurMist
October 25, 2019

After reading reviews I find myself in agreement with many, I can not recommend this product to anyone, not even my enemies. Worked a few times then stopped. Can't speak to anyone, I lost my receipt, I sent an email waiting for response. I am most likely out of luck, with this product.

As others have said, it is good when it works But, as they have also said,, it doesn't work or stay working for long.
My first one I bought at full price at Target. It worked the first time, but then I put it away and it failed the second time, maybe around warranty's end (had already lost the receipt). However, I did do use reverse osmosis water in it (which the instructions implied would be OK), and it had had a few gentle knocks (but nothing severe), so I chalked it up to that. Although I still felt it was much more fragile than it ought to be for the cost,, I managed to find another corded unit at Target eventually; this time it was (apparently) just before the release of the cordless version, so it was slightly (but not much) cheaper; maybe $129 instead of $149still expensive. That unit worked first time and also stopped working the second time, but eventually revived by letting it sit around filled for a few days. I only used store-bought distilled water in this one, Fast forward a couple of years and I've used it occasionally and it is admittedly still OK, but for me it still doesnt' help as much as a hot shower or as much as I'd like for the cost. I decide I like the cordless one, but don't want to risk/shell out another $150, between my experience and reading pretty much on-line in many places that the fragility hasn't improved much. So I found one new in box on ebay. It was DOA, and it did appear to be unused when I got it. Service initially said they'd fix it but when they found out I got it on e-bay, it was not an authorized dealer, so they refused. They suggested it might be old or counterfeit. Old? The product's only been out less than or around the two years they now want to warranty you! Counterfeit? OK, I'm willing to send them back the unit to inspect (not that I'd necessarily trust them, but that's reasonable to ask). I had given them the serial, and I subsequently got the date and place of original purchase from the seller (which was the current year, 2019, at Walgreen's, which was an authorized dealer), although not the receipt. That should have been enough for them to at least consider it might be legitimate, but I feel they just wanted an excuse to not stand behind a product which has a proven record of poor design and frequent failure. They suggested I ask for a full refund from the seller (not reasonable; the seller had fulfilled their part of the deal) and they would give me a "discount" on a new one. I decided not to send good money after bad.
Incidentally, although it is helpful, it isn't as good as a hot shower for me, so its utility even at best is marginal for me, hence my further reluctance to spend more $. Maybe this one will fix itself too (although it doesn't seem to behoping they might release a new firmware version and updating it will reset things, but who knows). YMMV.
Caveat Emptor!

My second puremist purchase within six months has failed. First one would only work after trying and letting sit for suggested amount of time and failed completely within 2 months. This one I purchased in Feburary and today stopped after a couple of minutes use. Blue light just started blinking and all efforts to revive have failed. It is an expensive item and I don't think I can recommend for that reason. (I read directions carefully and followed totally)

I will first mention that I always follow and read the manufacturers instructions before I use a new product and before I store it away. This product was no different. I used it once to basically test it. I stored it away back in the box and when I needed to use it for real, the red light just flashed and never stopped. I went through the troubleshooting over and over. Waited a few days and tried again but same problem. I called customer service and they walked me through the steps but same results. Since it was just out of warranty (no more than a few weeks) they wouldn't offer me any compensation
And apologized. The person did say they would talk to management because of the limited use and because the warranty had just expired they would be back in touch with me but I never heard back from anyone. I am now proud owner of a $200 landfill item. I need to throw it in the trash now because I get sad and when I see the box sitting in my office. I sit by the phone and every time it rings I think to myself "It must be them"! But it never is. I feel like I got beat up. Please folks, don't do what I have done. Consider purchasing the other brand.

Save your money!
February 28, 2019

When the purmist works, it's great however it's life expectancy is 2-3 weeks. The first one got so hot it wouldn't turn on, the second one did not produce steam at all, I've had the third one for about two weeks and it won't turn on. I'll be calling them as soon as they open. There is a two yr warranty if you register on line but I suspect they send you refurbished models.

The required refills state that 20 bottles give you 100 treatments, it does not. It takes a bottle per treatment so that's $2 a day plus electricity to charge it. A bit expensive.

The first 2 units I tried stopped working within a couple of days (flashing blue light) so I upgraded the unit to mypurmist free. The upgraded model automatically flashes red like I don't have any water in it when I can see the water.
Customer service is awful. They are only interested in selling you a higher costing product. The manager of Bed Bath and Beyond is tired of seeing me but, I shouldn't have to mail a product to the company less than 30 days.
I will try one more of the upgraded unit then I will get a refund.
