I recently was charged $96 plus $2 foreign exchange fee, for the auto-renewal of an annual subscription (another 365 days). I have not used My Perfect Resume for over 6 months, and received no email notice BEFORE the renewal so that I could cancel, as well as no email receipt of the charge. My only notice was the charge on my credit card. I used the live chat to cancel the subscription and ask for a full refund of the paid, but unused subscription through 3/2016, but was cut-off to help other customers. I also used 2 telephone numbers for customer service, but hung-up after waiting for 10 minutes on each line. My view is the auto-renewal policy is a scam because I received no notification of the charge before hand and no refund offer for a subscription I do NOT WANT and would not have authorized. Do read the legalese-policy terms carefully and cancel immediately (if you subscribe) after you don't need to use the resume-builder any longer. My credit card company said I would not prevail in a charge dispute because of their policy, no matter how unethically (no refund policy) they treat customers. Vendor provided full refund, customer service and returns rating revised from 1 to 3 stars. Overall rating increased from one to 2 stars.

I went on this site originally JUST for a resume-I wanted a nice template, easy layout, etc. I was interested in some of the membership packages, but failed to follow up after the initial 14-day trial, and ended up with money being drafted out of my checking account (didn't notice it until 2 months later).
This site has many terrific options for resumes, cover letters, job hunting, etc, and I will definitely come back to it! I will also pay more attention to the fine print...

I used "My Perfect Resume" for several months. I found it very helpful. I began using it in my last semester of graduate school when I was required to turn in a portfolio. Once I had put all my hard work into this resume I certainly did not want to lose it. When it was time to start applying for jobs... my resume was there waiting for me. This program made it so easy to change formats and information! I did see the reviews that people were shocked that they were charged a monthly fee. I read the fine print so to speak. I knew that after the 1-2 week promotion that I would be charge roughly $10/wk to keep my hard work ready to pull up at any given time. It was worth it to me. When I landed my job and was ready to cancel... it was easy. I used the "chat window". Someone responded to me... I told them I wanted to cancel. Easy as that! Would I use it again? Absolutely! It was worth every penny. Just remember to cancel when your through using the service.

Answer: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I am a very organized person who worked for the state that I reside in as an investigator. I had an injury and had to make a change in my career. I am very careful about getting pulled into scams, however, I felt that this would be a good opportunity to build a resume and cover letter that was more updated than when my original resume that I wrote years ago. First of all, the templates are not free. After spending a long period of time writing the perfect resume, I only had the option of spending $2.99 to have access to the resume/cover letter. I felt that was a reasonable fee for the use of the template. As I stated, I am very organized and manage my finances very well. I made sure that I went into my account and cancelled by subscription after 5 days of use so that I would not be charged the $29.99 for the month. Today, I checked my checking account and sure enough the $29.99 had been deducted. I immediately called customer service and they stated that my cancellation had not gone through and they had no notification of my cancellation. They were willing to give me back only $14.00 of my $29.99 back and then went on trying to sell me more offers. I was extremely angry and then spoke with a supervisor. He also argued that I had not cancelled. I went through the same steps to cancel my account while the supervisor was on the phone with me. Low and behold the cancellation went through! Obviously, this company has set up the cancellation process to fail and you will be charged the $29.00 anyway. I definitely learned my lesson! I had to threaten to have my attorney to get involved due to this company stealing money from my account before they agreed to reimburse my full $29.00. They could not give me a refund confirmation number for the remaining reimbursement. I as a Social Worker who advocate for people could not conscientiously could not write a review to warn people of this scam.
