My problem is that it is not easy to correct wrong information in MyHeritage portal
I'm using MyHeritage already for many years and discovered my family history starts from people moving from Portugal and Germany to The Netherlands Great to find matching data from various other familytrees in MyHeritage
I like the interface of MYyHeritage, it's very easy to edit. If I can, something that could be improved is the tree organization, for example if I want to have a tree of my family, I cannot, because MH makes only a global tree of all persons that I have. In Geneanet, for example, you write the name of a guy and geneanet can produce the tree of THAT guy, only of that guy. I cannot make something like this with MH
Ty so much
I would like to get one more time the result of my ADN test, that I don't find. Thank you very much
I have parents from Russia and Poland and I am aware of the difficulty of gaining information. However my father was in England for many years before coming to Australia, yet information on his emigration is low. The other side of the family are from England, and this website has abundant information supplied on a regular basis via notifications. I have to search separately within Australian departments and archives for relevant information. The Anglicisation of foreign names is overwhelming and it is difficult to guess what the original name was changed into. Heritage is a long process with so many twists an turns, it maybe better than a crime novel. I will persevere.
Easy to use and update although scrolling through the family tree(s) can be frustrating and slow in the available formats
I learned more about my family and their history them I expected. And every day there a more Information.
Having used My Heritage for many many years, it is easy to use, has many great features and often questions an entry as you enter it, as in asking this a new person or an existing one. Has many features that tells of mistakes eg too old/ young to be a parent or still alive. Far too many great features too mention here. Give it ago and explore the many great things to help us along the way. The only draw back is the cost, quite expensive but most of them are unfortunately.
On my iPhone, my tree has disappeared.
Also on my iPhone, any matches that I get are in a foreign language that I do not understand. Possibly Eastern European.
I have emailed support but the site is not monitored. I spent money that I can ill afford on my subscription, but it is useless to me.
The time is approximate up to present.
Can't fault MyHeritage in what they offer their customers:-)
A lot of information in one place. Good lay out. Like it a lot that there is option for Latvian language.
Need contact to resolve false info
Has my father listed as my uncle in discoveries when he is listed correctly in tree
Well, it's very Interesting on how My ancestors got Started through so Many places, and How they've came To be!
I look forward to checking my phone several times a day to see who else I can check to see if MyH have found a potential member of my extended family. 😀 Only advice I have for people is put in as much information as you can into the discovery search, or you will get hundreds of possibles, which for a new 'detective" like me, takes hours to go through. Plus in discoveries, look at 'relations' over 'value'. Lastly if you can, do the DNA test. MyH great for potential Canadian or American ancestors 😀
Happy family detective experiences
While trying to understand how to put in census records there are a lot of steps, say the 1910 census record.
Step 1: Find the record.
Step 2: Enter the information in the Facts tab. Step 3: The Citation (Source, URL, Confidence, Date (so why a second date) well for the end date of enumeration, then lastly Text from Source.
Step 4: Citation Notes, what goes there, well at the bottom of the census record, Household, and here is where I listed the Relation to Head. So, don't by bashful just identify what you have in question of and send it to them and you will get a reply in less than 48 hours.
Very interesting journey finding relatives and ancestors I never knew existed.
My Heritage is great for locating more distant genealogical connections.
Anything of any use is behind a paywall. When paying for the dna results it should state very clearly that this is all you will receive and if you want to investigate your family tree it will cost more money
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
