MyHeritage charged my credit card twice for the same annual fee for 2015. I disputed the double charge with my credit card company. MyHeritage rescinded one of the charges but maintained the other while, at the same time, cancelling my subscription. So, MyHeritage made an annual charge to my credit card for a service that they had knowingly canceled. These people are all about money, period. DO NOT entrust them with you credit card information. There are credible genealogical sites out there. This is not one of them. I gave them one star because I was not able to submit this review with no stars.

My experience so far with MyHeritage.com has been great. The website gives you so many tools with which to explore and document your family history in so many ways. Since researching family history can be a monumental task, MyHeritage breaks it down into smaller, more manageable steps for the everyday person to understand.
My most memorable experience with MyHeritage staff was after Christmas 2015 when like everyone else, I had an enormous amount of debt I had to catch up on, including the website subscription. I did not have the money to renew the subscription, and in a last ditch effort to save all the research I had made, I contacted MyHeritage staff and explained my situation. They completely shocked me with understanding and empathy - they extended a short grace period to allow me to pay my membership.
I was, and am, absolutely elated! Before beginning an on-line family tree, I researched all the family tree websites in order to make a prudent decision. The first of course was Ancestry.com I've always been the one to give the little guy a chance first, so I made a decision to go with MyHeritage - and I'm glad I did. I'm sure that I would not have encountered the same quality of customer service at the competition.
I recommended MyHeritage to anyone! The biggest is not always the best!
I have been a member of My Heritage for 2 years, in my opinion it is the easiest site to use, the most reasonably priced and holds an extensive amount of data, I have had a lot of fun hours sifting through relatives of my Grandmother and found out that every single member of he family were born in a tiny village in Italy, this discovery went back 13 generations and without MyHeritage I would never have been able to go on that wonderful nostalgic historical journey, it has led to me finding many family members and spending many hours on google earth looking at the village where my ancestors lived for generations.
I highly reccomend this site. You just never know what you might discover
Fijne tool om stambomen te bouwen en te onderhouden. Af en toe loop je dan wel tegen wat bugs of onduidelijkheden aan. Gelukkig is er dan een helpdesk die prima support geeft

Myheritage ist sehr gut, wenn man weiß, was wie zu machen ist. Das gedruckte Handbuch umfasst 340 Seiten und darin zu suchen ist eine Qual. Dann aber kommt aber die exzellente Mitarbeiterin Tabea ans Telefon. Ein paar Klicks und schon ist meine Welt in Ordnung. Das Leben kann so schön sein. Danke Tabea!
Ik heb nu ongeveer 5 jaar het premium gebruikt, en ben zeer tevreden daarmee. Ik kreeg vaak genoeg mails over mijn voorouders, en kon mijn stamboom verrijken met aangeleverde data. Ik ben nu gepensioneerd, en moet helaas uit kostenredenen terug gaan nar de basis-versie van MyHeritage. Ik hoop ooit nog weer terug te kunnen, maar dat kan nog vele jaren gaan duren.
Onlangs ondervond ik problemen met het inloggen bij MyHeritage. Via Internet lukte het wel maar op mijn PC was het wachtwoord niet (meer?) geldig. Ook na het opnieuw aanvragen van een wachtwoord lukte het me niet om op mijn PC MyHeritage op te starten. Dankzij de ondersteuning van de Helpdesk is dit probleem echter binnen 1 werkdag opgelost. Heel hartelijk dank voor jullie goede service.
I have in the past commented about the highly unprofessional Customer service and support of this service provider. Recently another incidence has cropped up. I suddenly found out about three plus weeks ago that one whole album of about 80 articles was suddenly erased from my website. Further I was not able to upload anything else or correct this erasure. I sent several emails to customer service to which no response was ever received. Finally I went to their Office in Or Yehuda Israel and met a very polite representative of theirs. He informed me that they had a bug in the system but would get around to solving the problem according to their priorities. He could not give a specific date when they would around to it nor when it would be solved. When I had problems with AOL and Reimage other companies the problem was solved within one chat session. Here at My Heritage the customer service do not even respond with a courtesy note sating that we have received your email... This company in my opinion has absolutely no professional courtesy for its customers and even the lowest evaluation I gave it of one star is in my opinion over rated for customer service. I hope this review will stimulate them to improve their customer service.
Ik werk nu een paar jaar met My Heritage en ben over het algemeen prima tevreden over de mogelijkheden, toegankelijkheid en vormgeving. In de laatste update van Builder liep het fout met de toegankelijkheid en werd ik er vaak na enkele mutaties of toevoegingen aan mijn stambomen 'uit gegooid'. In een intensief contact met support van MH zijn we er samen uit gekomen en is het opgelost. Complimenten voor de service en het vastbijten in het probleem, net zolang totdat er een oplossing was. Ander punt van discussie vind ik de privacy. Op zich biedt het systeem aardige mogelijkheden maar al een paar ben ik gestuit op reacties van anderen die via zoekmachines als Google alle foto's van mijn site kunnen zien, downloaden etc. Natuurlijk kunnen ze niet in stamboom (afgeschermd) maar ik vind het niet correct dat vanuit de beschermde omgeving van MH gedownload kan worden. Dit schendt toch de privacy. Als ik upload naar bijv. Dropbox kunnen anderen er niet bij, tenzij ik daar een akkoord op geef of anderen uitnodig via mailbericht. Ik vind dit punt echt een minpunt en zou verbeterd moeten worden door MH.

After some trial and error a few years ago, I ended up with a page in MyHeritage. It was one smart choice would be seen as time passed. I chose a side of my father's family and one side of my mother's family, not something I would recommend if the families are large. Better and have all gathered on a page.
Start-up and creation of a family tree at MyHeritage is free and only after several years if the tree has been great, it will cost a bit, but it's worth itathered at one familieside.
For eight years I make as a premium-member use of the great Family Tree Builder of My Heritage. Then there are what go wrong. And if the digital Help ultimately in my case no solution, then there is the personal support from My Heritage Support Team. A great service!

I've always had good experience with customer service in the past. This time, the information given to me to solve my problem didn't work. I was trying to delete an unwanted photograph. The support person fixed my problem himself, deleting the unwanted photo, then gave me a different set of instructions on how to do it... which did work when I tried it on a different photo. The end result was satisfactory; however, I think the correct steps should have been offered the first time. All's well that ends well... just my valuable time was lost.
The lady that helped me gave me a detailed description of the answer to my question. She went on to describe if I did this or that and how it would not affect anything on my tree. I was afraid if I clicked that a person was a match that it would automatically connect our trees. She very carefully explained what steps were involved. I am very glad I had her answer my question.
I got an answer back within 24 hours.
I am using MyHeritage Family Tree Builder for more than eight years. The software is very friendly and the technical support very good and quick. The publication fees for the tree low. I recommend the site and the software to everybody who love genealogy.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
