I just bought the software and was very pleased with the smart match feature which searches for possible matches in other people tree. Got a lot of ancestors with out much work. I did have a problem when I accepted a match and did not notice a discrepancy. That results in two parallel trees. I called tech support and was 13th in line but I hung on and was able to reach live person in about 15 minutes. They were able to quickly resolve the issue. I got a free DNA test when I bought the complete membership and am looking forward to the results
I was on hold 20 minutes and started 8th in line, but the automated system kept me updated on my position in the queue. When I spoke with Jordan he handled my matter quickly and efficiently.
I wish I had been given advance notice of the upcoming renewal, so that I could take care of the matter before rather than after the fact. As it were, the renewal charge was submitted one minute after customer service closed on Thursday night. I was left racing to clear up the matter before I incurred an overdraft charge.
The support crew was very responsive, kept me up to date and was able to recover my entire database. Kudos to them.
I would have no hesitations in recommending My Heritage they go above and beyond when faced with any problem in order to fix it

Great help and fast service. MyHeritage is the best site I have found in ease of use, documentation and completeness. Have been able to expand my ancestors beyond the US to Europe and as far back as 1235. Love the program, just wish prices were more affordable as I am on a limited (social security only) income.

Enga was very helpful in sorting out my email issue, as well as updating my account from a prior account that I'd forgotten I even had!
Last week my iMac went out of function. I tried to involve my iPad with my My Heritage family tree. As something went wrong with my email-adresses nothing went normal anymore!

There is no doubt in my mind that I have African ancestry and that is fine. But with my knowledge of genes, for me to be 66% African, either what little European blood I have was so strong that it beat out the vast majority of my African genetics or something is really wrong with how they are reading certain data. Yes, that is me in the picture. Given that, African genes tend to be dominant; it is odd that I can even get a suntan and at 66% you would think that that wouldn't be the case. Living in California, I am the only African American who must put sunblock SPF 100 on when he goes out. I wish I were 66%. I would almost believe you Rafael had I not received completely different results from another DNA company. I have emailed My heritage and received no response, and in fact, I have email My Heritage twice sending the results of the other company with the email and have still received no reply.
I called to cancel the free 5 day subscription after I was unable to cancel via the web site. The time period was now over 5 days, but they did not make a big deal of it and credited back the charge on my card.
Had a few questions about billing and if my wife could use the DNA kit although ordered in my name. MARCUS went above and beyond. Answered all questions!
I uploaded my DNA from Ancestry to my heritage. Com. I know for a fact my moms side of the family is Italian. I've even met my great-grand parents. Ancestry had it right. But my heritage was laughable, it had no Italian listed there. According to Ancestry I'm 80% Italian. With my heritage I had no Italian. Lol I told them to delete that nonsense.

I needed help with billing at MyHeritage and Enga was fast, courteous, and friendly. It made me more confident about using the site.
I called in to cancel my account and received the most pleasant and wonderful Customer Service from Inga that I have encountered in my life. If I were in the need for a service from MyHeritage.com, they will get my business again.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

I am sorry to read your 1 star review and I regret to find you are unhappy with your DNA ethnicity estimate's results.
As you know, skin color is determined by the number, distribution and type of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) in the skin. While there is a common assumption that skin tone measures the amount of a specific ethnicity you may have, it is not necessarily the case.
It is important to understand that percentages of ethnicity and genes are not passed down on in equal amounts and a very small amount of your DNA is likely to come from any given ancestor say 5 generations back. Because of this some descendants may inherit more of some genes than others do, while some descendants may not inherit specific genes at all.
To estimate your ancestral ethnicity, MyHeritage compares your DNA with other DNA testers around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. We call these people the Founder Populations. Currently our genetic models are based on 42 ethnic groups around the world, but this will improve thanks to our Founder Population project that is ongoing.
Nonetheless, it is a true that Africa is one of the world's largest and most populous continent. There are 3000 distinct ethnic groups and over 2000 languages on the continent making it home to the most genetically diverse people on Earth. The results of our project and these tests will yield a better DNA data set as we constantly work to better our DNA research model.
As we both know, given the history of what African Americans have gone through, especially where many of the traditional methods of genealogy research for African Americans have been complicated by the history of slavery, missing records and names being changed. Also, not to mention, many people were trafficked across state lines and stories were simply not passed down because they were too traumatic. DNA research does offer a way to circumvent these obstacles by measuring and comparing ones genetic makeup to trace roots and find more insight into ones family history to ultimately indicate lineage to specific ethnicities within Africa.
Along with the Ethnicity Estimate, we also offer you tools such as ancestral surnames, comparing trees and measuring ones shared DNA through DNA matches that have also been very valuable in tracing family history.
