Initially I was given recorded advice and also tried to fix the problem on line... and it wouldn't change my email address. When I finally got through to a real person, Michelle, she answered my queries and fixed my problem. THANK YOU

Myheritage customer service advised me that since western european heritage DNA is so similiar to take my results with a grain of salt and trust my known family tree instead. So what did I pay all this money for? A lot of angst!
Has taken almost 3 months from placement of order till I got results. The results showed ancestry my family doesn't have. So I went and had a maternal DNA test done and my mother is my mother. So now she is doing tests. I asked Myheritage to double check results. No response and that was weeks ago. I ordered more tests for other family members and a week later they still haven't even processed the order. They take your money and then ignore you.
Lisa helped me with setting up my profile and family tree. She also clearly explained how to track my order as they are christmas presents. I am so glad I purchased a product that gives good after care. She obviously has great knowledge of the product and website. Thanks for the assistance.
When I took the Ancestry DNA test I already had half my Family Tree done and had matches / family in Ireland - Newfoundland - Poland - UK - So here are the results - pretty large difference - emailed but kept getting the same generic response - I beleive these differences are too large to ignore...

I have no known Scandinavian matches from any site I have downloaded my raw DNA to- GP's born in Poland - GM in Ireland- GF US via Newfoundland via UK -have lots of documentation - 0% Irish from MyHeritage? No way Ancestry pinpointed my Irish to Connaught ( Galway where I have living relatives - GM b. There) - and the 47% Scandinavian vs 3% from Ancestry... 0% UK? - I have 2 branches from the UK ( documented)... have no explanation for these discrepancies...
Dear Diane,
I regret to find your raw DNA results are not comparing with your research or other DNA tests that you have taken with other DNA kit providers.
It is true to consider that bio-geographical estimates are complicated. Different researchers analyzing the same DNA of a person can come up with different estimates based on a number of different factors, including the reference populations used for comparison, the algorithm, the chemical processing and many more factors. Therefore these elements are consistently being improved in the DNA researching community as a whole and it is certainly our highest priority here at MyHeritage.
Moreover, while some companies provide many more regions to compare your DNA with, MyHeritage compares your DNA to a lot more ethnic populations. We find this most important for various reasons such as the fact that populations in countries have moved around while official borders and communities were at times occupied throughout history. It is also certainly found that DNA tends to be very similar between people in neighboring countries, such as North Western Europe and England, where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, our ethnicity estimate is retained on a higher regional level.
MyHeritage has proudly referenced 42 ethnic populations to compare your DNA with and this number will be growing even larger in the future as we are constantly working on adding to our reference populations. (ongoing "MyHeritage Founder Population Project")
All in all, what is most important to us is your overall satisfaction because we use all feedback to better the genealogy experience for the millions of our members. We want all of our members to have the most solid results.
Therefore I would like to examine your research along with your raw DNA results to learn more about what is different about our estimate. In order to do so, I need to locate and verify your MyHeritage account. Please send me an e-mail from your registered address at your nearest convenience at [email protected].
I'm looking forward to examining the issue you report as soon as possible.
Sincerely Yours
Rafael

It was a very positive experience. Generally, I find tech support frustrating. I found this a very good experience.
The girl could not have been any better. She went through my problem and all the issues were sorted on the spot
When I noticed a discreppency in what was charged to my creditcard from myheritage, it took only a simple phonecall and the problem was resolved by a very patient and friendly lady at the helpdesk. I 'm a satisfied customer, it is only a shame that I can 't find more official documents of the Belgian archives through myheritage.
Who knows, maybe in the future?
I have subscribed to MyHeritage for a couple of years and have tried a few of the others too. I find that Myheritage is a great source of family history data; their Smart matches works well and provides access to other trees with matching info. I am not keen on the automatic subscription renewal that so many sites include as the default option when signing up. However I sent an email to the My heritage support team requesting an update to my profile that I could not do via the web site, and requested removal from the automatic renewal system. I received a prompt response from Judit and she organised everything that I requested. My experience with MyHeritage has been a very positive one.
I appreciate the help in transferring our DNA to the Heritage site as will help with further connecting to DNA matches.
Your customer service at 23&me was awesome and thank you Heritage for making this possible.
The Heritage site has lead me to the missing puzzle piece that I had searched six years for plus it connected me back even 3-4 more generations. It continues to make connections, Wonderful!
I received my kit yesterday, did the swabs and was ready to pack up to mail and I noticed I needed a stamp, now come on the kit is expensive and they couldn't have included a self stamp addressed envelope... It may seem petty but to me it's the little things companies could do to elevate theor customer service
I was very disappointed when I received my results. I can trace my maternal family history multiple generations and to various European countries. I have documents, I have family trees, as well as, recorded history. I wanted to find out what percentages of those countries were in my DNA. Surprisingly it was basically zero!
I first got my results in the spring of 2017 and then later in the summer I got an email from My Heritage stating they have a new beta software so I clicked on it and my results changed. Still, there wasn't much about the known European countries I can trace my family history to but the results changed. For example, the first beta results came back with 0.9% Native American. Then when upgrade beta came out I no longer had Native American DNA. How can this be?! Every time they come out with a different beta will my results change?
If you know you're family history and you have documentation to prove it don't bother with taking a DNA test. You might not be happy with the results they provide you. Based on the results I got I had to ask my mom if I was adopted. Thankfully she said no.
Hi Jim,
I'm sorry to find that you are unhappy with your Ethnicity Estimate and understand your concern. I'll do all I can to help.
As you may have heard, DNA tends to be very similar in between people in neighboring countries within Europe. This is found for various reasons such as people moving around frequently and official borders and communities being occupied. Therefore where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, the ethnicity estimate is retained on a higher regional level instead of showing you a pinpoint location. (see our 42 supported ethnicities)
As you may know, DNA is calculated by comparing your DNA to other reference populations that are known in the DNA research community. We find that focusing on the actual DNA match instead of a countries borders that have changed throughout history important.
Nonetheless, it is true that our Ethnicity Estimate is in a beta status because we are in the process of raising our number of ethnic regions. We have proudly referenced 42 ethnic populations and this number will be growing even larger in the future.
With regards to your Native American heritage, DNA is also not found to be evenly divided throughout the generations and some of your family can inherit more of a specific ethnicity than others. One may inherit more European DNA than Native American DNA depending on how far back your ancestor is from you.
In addition, many of the Native American Tribes have not been a part of the sampling used to build reference populations in general. Within the United States alone, there are over 562 recognized Native American tribes, communities and Native villages. Your concern is a fairly common one and there is a lot of literature on it online.
That being said, I understand that you are trying to pinpoint the exact location that matches your research or family story. This can be done by utilizing the research tools available to you such as building your own family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be Genealogy or DNA matches. Our match algorithms have been proven to automatically find and compare similar DNA strands along with ancestral surnames, records, and family trees to find very interesting discoveries. New DNA is uploaded every day and the chances of that new information to match your research are high.
MyHeritage has been assisting millions for over a decade with their genealogy research and your feedback is paramount to our growth and development.
Therefore, I would like to assist you with your DNA results and find out why you thought you were adopted. I'd also like to answer any other questions you may have with the highest amount of priority.
Please e-mail me personally at [email protected], I'd be happy to help.
Kind Regards
Rafael

Having discovered that I was able to get more information, free, from the IGI than from My Heritage, by simply using the search boxes, I telephone My Heritage to ask for my subscription back. I was answered by Lisa, who, in he face of my complaints, pointed out that I was not using the site in the most productive way, using the building of the family tree as the basic method of tapping into the records. So, I was not getting the results that I wanted. I have, therefore, withdrawn the demand to be reimbursed and am following the advice given by a patent and courteous Lisa, and any errors in building the tree are now mostly my own. John Crompton.
Estefani was very knowledgeable and supportive. She answered my question and solved my problem. She was caring and understanding of my issues. She is a great asset for this company,
Many thanks to the friendly lady who answered my call and sent me details on how to restore my family tree. It was a great relief to have the data back again.
I am not reviewing the results of my DNA, but I am upset that I had to pay $12 shipping and another $3 to send my samples.
Dear Jennifer,
I regret to find that you were unaware of the shipping charges involved in your DNA kit purchase. I can understand how frustrating it may be and I sympathize with your efforts.
Your feedback and overall satisfaction is very important to us and I would like to see what can be done about this.
In order to help, I must first locate your account. Please e-mail me at your registered e-mail address at [email protected]. I'd be happy to help with the highest form of priority.
Sincerely Yours

Nachdem wieder mal kein deutschsprachiger Mitarbeiter zu Verfügung stand konnte ir trotz extremer Sprachschwierigkeiten geholfen werden; Danke Maja
My request was only for a change of email contacts, but the help provided was very good, also talked me through my computer and it settings, some thing I would not have done by myself
Thank you
I had a very long wait, however Mya resolved my issue quickly without fuss. Im so pleased with how it worked out and really appreciated the ease of conversation!
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

Dear Doug,
I regret to find you are unhappy with your Ethnicity Estimate.
I'm unsure who told you to "take your results with a grain of salt and trust your own family tree", but this is absolutely not what our research tools at MyHeritage are designed for.
It is true that populations in Western Europe are found to share similar DNA for various reasons such as the fact that people in Europe's neighboring countries have been in contact for centuries.
MyHeritage references your DNA with other DNA testers around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. This has helped many of the millions of our members in the DNA research community to find new discoveries and dig into their past.
We have proudly referenced 42 ethnic populations and this number will be growing even larger because of our own Founder Populations Project — one of the largest of its kind ever conducted. As our reference populations update, so will your Estimate. Our current amount of supported ethnicities is vigorous compared to other popular genealogy research companies and this can be verified online by all means. Not only are we researching more ethnicities, our DNA database is robust and is constantly growing as we give the option of FREE raw DNA upload from other popular autosomal DNA test providers.
MyHeritage has been an effective instrument for millions in the field of genealogy and research for over 14 years. That being said, we take family research very seriously and have already implemented more tools to help you research the origins and commonality of your DNA.Our smart match feature allows you to compare your family trees with the millions of family trees that is published in our database. In January 2017 we have reported over 35 million family trees in our database. With regards to records, we provide over 6 billion historical records and our index is constantly expanding. These matching tools have benefited many with their research for years.
Nonetheless, your overall satisfaction and research experience is very important to us. I would like to personally ensure you are happy with the development of your research and answer any questions you may have.
Please feel free to e-mail my inbox at [email protected] at your nearest convenience.
Always happy to help
