I purchased a DNA kit for a Christmas gift. The person I gave it to did not want it, so I contacted MyHeritage about returning it for a refund. I was contacted four days later (holidays) and they were able to process my return and refund my full amount without headache, it was done. I can honestly say their customer service department is superior to any I've dealt with before, other companies should take note!

The staff at My Heritage were very professional and helpful. They looked into the two deductions that were made from my account very quickly and had no issue with refunding them. They would be the only family tree website that i would deal with.

I was very surprised - all my questions were answered very friendly with much patience and very competent. I have learned a lot and I am very pleased, that there is a possibility to put my heritage into the system now, where no one can make changes but can look at it and see what is correct. Ged.com files can be used to import all my dates form the old PAF programm, that is wonderful. And the DNA bank is just great. I am looking forward to hear or see some results.

James was very friendly and helpful when I called. I can't say thank you enough. My money was back in my account the very same day which saved me from paying an overdraft charge.
This is very incorrect. I used another site and they were pretty close. There is a large percent of me in two categories that did not show according to My Heritage. Save your money or go to another site.

Please note that bio-geographical estimates are complicated. Different researchers analyzing the same DNA of a person can come up with different estimates based on a number of different factors, including the reference populations used for comparison, the algorithm, the chemical processing and many more factors. Therefore these elements are consistently being improved in the DNA researching community as a whole and it is certainly top priority here at MyHeritage.
We have proudly referenced 42 ethnic populations and this number will be growing even larger because of our own Founder Populations Research Project. The benefit of this research will yield more specifics in your ethnicities in your estimate. That said, our DNA matches and research features are not in any kind of beta status and they have helped many people integrate their genealogy research with their raw DNA results to find new exciting discoveries.
Determining one’s ethnicity based on DNA is a relatively new field of genetics. Great advancements have been made in the past years, but there is much more to discover.
I can assure you that MyHeritage is on top of this and we will continue to work on improving our Ethnicity Estimate along with developing better tools based on your feedback, new scientific research, and discoveries.

Because of an error that I made, I did not receive any results from MyHeritage. I contacted them and got a reply and the problem solved immediately. Even though this was cause my my fault, and I was less than nice in my email to them, they were gracious and professional. Problems was solved by one of the nicest customer services persons I've have ever worked with. I gauge every purchase on customer service so MyHeritage would get 6 stars, if I could.

Due to a mix-up, my subscription was automatically renewed 2 months before I expected it to. I called customer service expecting them to give me a million reasons why they couldn't refund my money, but the very friendly service representative immediately offered to refund my money, and then did it on the spot. She also removed me from automatic renewal (her own suggestion) and happily answered other questions I had not related to the original problem. Truly excellent customer service.
I called customer service and they were very helpfull. They explained the process and talked me through fixing the problem. I was very impressed withe help i received.
I had a lot of questions about why my DNA is so different from Ancestry, FTDNA, and My Heritage since it all came from the same raw DNA. He was able to explain the migrations and possible reasons for the differences. In addition they all use different formulas. Very knowledgeable. Also, guided me to upload my gedcom file. Very pleasant and patient.
My envelope with my DNA was lost in the mail. Megan Sheehan was wonderful in her assistance in assisting me with obtaining a replacement kit. Thank you!
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

For your information, your ethnicity estimate is compared to other DNA testers around the globe whose genetic ethnicity is known. We have referenced 42 ethnic populations and this number will be growing even larger because of our own Founder Populations Project. Our current amount of supported ethnicities is large and constantly growing as we give the option of FREE raw DNA upload from other popular autosomal DNA test providers.
That said, you may still research your DNA further by utilizing the research tools available to you such as building your own family tree and finding comparable matches whether they be Genealogy or DNA matches. Our match algorithms have been proven to automatically find and compare similar DNA strands along with ancestral surnames, records, and family trees to find very interesting discoveries. This has helped many of our members in the DNA research community to find new discoveries and dig into their past.
