This is mostly about the service MyHeritage offers and not the validity of their analysis. I was getting a second opinion having done an Ancestry.com analysis. Firstly the length of time it took for me to receive their kit was over the limit they claimed it would take (i6 days!). When I checked the tracking I discovered their were delays from their side from the very start. For example it took 3 days simply to get to NY airport and then it sat there for 4 days for no reason. After I sent my completed kit back I waited about 2 weeks with no sign of it being received at the lab. I received no reply to my email querying this. A week later when I rang I was told there was a backlog at the lab but when I asked about why that would prevent a simple log-in of receipt I was given very vague answers. Another weej or so and still nothing I rang and this time spoke to someone in Israel who told me to ring again if I hadn't received notification after 1 month! Some assurance that was. Eventually after almost a month I received notification that my kit had arrived and was being processed. From that point I waited for the results which came 2 months after I registered for the kit. I then sent an email requesting some clarification of the results. Ten days later after still receiving no response other than an acknowledgement I rang again. After a 22-minute wait when I was told I was next in the queue I got to speak to Desmond in Ireland. Desmond was patient and knew what he was talking about and clarified my understanding of the results. Desmond in fact saved the day for MyHeritage. The results were in general accord with my results from Ancestry.com once Desmond has explained some of the details. My bet is that MyHeritage is simply not employing enough people to do the job they promise and which we pay for and without the sterling work of those who do do the work the management and owners might find themselves out of a business (and the prodits they are surely making from it.)
Aside from waiting 45 minutes and some seconds on hold to get a question answered, the fellow was helpful. I got my question answered. But I rarely have 45 minutes to wait on hold. It won't happen again.
David was so patient with me; he walked me through an obstacle course that was blocking my progress uploading DNA. Knowledgeable and friendly. Give him a gold star and a day off with pay.
Today I needed to request a refund for my subscription, carter I missed the e mail informing me. I no longer need to use My Heritage, and was concerned what response I would get. No need to worry, I spoke to a very sweet and polite girl, who reassured me it was not a problem. The e mail confirming the refund was within minutes. Well done!
Being very new at genealogy, and a slow greenhorn
On a computer, I was having fits trying to manage not one,
But two trees.
Both with vastly more information than I could handle.
Or keep organized, or straight,,
Let alone enter in the right places.
I called for Help!
Praise be! I got IT!
One tree DELETED ( it was only a duplicate anyway).
One duplicate GEDCOM file, Deleted. AND,,
Enough Information, and Instruction, that even I can follow,
To completely rebuild, or replace, anything I might lose.

Had some trouble in renewing my premium plan. A simple email and it was solved. Keep up the good work.
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has reviewed my initial post and I do hope that it has been helpful.
As a result, I would like to update you all on my situation.
I must mention that the most recent post by Rafael was made after several email exchanges between us with the penultimate one from me being on the 7 Mar 18, which read as follows
"Hi Rafael,
It is safe to say that I am very tired of all of this bureaucracy.
Surely the simple answer from you should be that you will have my sample retested by another researcher (I take this to mean person and not company).
I understand what you are trying to say but my point is that none of these enthicities that you all have manufactured have appeared in my genealogy going as far back as the 1400's.
Surely there is zero chance of your current result being correct especially since my parents are 1st generation Caribbean of Caucasian European descent".
This resulted in Rafael stating that "I just wanted to make sure that you know how your DNA is tested. I can send you a free replacement kit by all means.
In order to do so, I must forward this ticket to the appropriate department. Therefore, i will do this now".
I must highlight that I have never expected this to drag on for as long as it has. I have only ever wanted the professional and honest service which they claim to have in relation to DNA testing and the results.
Let's see what happens next but I am hoping that this is the final chapter since I would like to move on with more pressing matters of life.
I hope to have at least one victory if MyHeritage staff responds via this site since I got ripped off with the cost of the DNA kit and the so-called DNA results:(
I immediately replied to a MyHeritage email once they informed me that my results were ready for viewing a couple of days ago.
My initial reaction to the email was delight since my results were estimated for between 23 Feb-2 Mar 18. Nonetheless, I reviewed my results and I was confused and disappointed with the findings!
I have done substantial genealogical research and the Ethnicity Estimate does not even come close to my lineage. I am left wondering if those were in fact my results? The code seemed to be the one assigned to me but the results are just so far fetched.
I then found this site and emailed Rafael (MyHeritage Rep) in the hope that he would reply but no such luck. I note that in a recent post, Rafael alluded to some type of glitch which occurred a couple of weeks ago which affected the comparison of raw DNA to specific ethnicities but I am unsure if this issues has since been rectified.
I was born in a cosmopolitan country in the Caribbean and I feel that this is what MyHeritage used to assume that I was of Afro-Caribbean origin. The results showed that I was from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Kenya, etc.
In hindsight I should have posted a photo of myself and changed my country to the European country where I now reside and the results would have been very different.
I am mortified to see that according to this test; I do not have any Jewish, Chinese, Portuguese and obviously Caribbean roots (which I have) instead of that large Nigerian, etc percentage (which is news to me)... shocking!
Do you have a policy on DNA retesting? Or alternatively you can refund my purchase fee to a charity of my choice.
I contacted customer service about not being able to register my kit. I had trouble with the phone prompts wanting to around and around. That was frustrating. When I did get a human, I had reached Aoife in Ireland. She was so helpful and resolved my problem and took very good care of the situation.
My heritage gave me my true Ethnic, there have been arguments of who I am, so when I found out all the pieces are starting to come together, why I dress the way I do to how I talk, and temperament as well :)
After two other calls that didn't help me, my third call was successful in getting help with my results!
Patrick was wonderful! He patiently walked me through the steps to get my results, AND he took the time to show me the various topics I could use for further information.
Some how my niece, Lynnette Maurer Peterschmidt, had a statement in her results that read that she was possibly related to Martha Nearing. It's true, but where did she get this statement that I never got?

Started working with MyHeritage again today after a few years. Wasn't able to add people. Called Help and they arranged it in less than a minute. Thank you, Melissa.
Мy questions were answered, main problem solved. Nadja showed exceptional patience and goodwill. One more question left - how to print the chart on A2 size paper (420 x 594 mm)
I enjoy using My Heritage and connecting with other sites on the system. Very easy to use and always get very prompt and good support from the team at My Heritage.
I will not recommend anyone to use Myheritage. I have been a member since 2009 and a paid up premium member since Nov 2017 but have now been blocked and when trying to login am taken to another member of the families tree saying the Audoire site no longer exists. We have 1300 names on our site and I am getting emails asking why they can not access. The help and support have not contacted me about any of this all i am getting is an auto message saying they will get back to me.! This has been going on for weeks.
Dear Dawn,
I'm sorry to read your feedback and regret to find your low star review.
Indeed there are times where there may be a wait when contacting our phone support center and I sympathize with your efforts so far.
It sounds to me like an issue with login and I would like to investigate this issue as soon as possible.
In order to help, I must find your registered MyHeritage account for the tree published with 1300 names on a site.
Please e-mail me personally at [email protected].
Kind Regards
Rafael

I sent my DNA kit in 2 weeks ago and kept checking my site to see if it was received. I was a little worried it got lost in the mail. I called and Joy was very helpful, she told me it was normal and I should hear back soon and call back anytime.
Magan provided competent and pleasant customer service. She patiently listened to my questions and comments and then gave clear and understandable explanations that were very helpful. Magan did not rush the conversation to make sure my concerns and questions got the appropriate response and then concluded with a complete summary. What a pleasant experience!
My husband and I recently decided to learn a little bit more about where we come from. We decided on this product, ordered, sent the kits... and then his arrived at the lab, and mine didn't. Both were mailed the same day, same time, same post office. Two days, three days, four days went by and I started to get nervous. I called customer support on the weekend and they are true to their word, 24/7 customer service. I had a to wait a little bit, but sure enough Mark from County Cork Ireland was on the line. I was concerned I would have to buy another kit because mine was lost. Mark kindly advised that if the kit didn't arrive back in Houston in 30 days My Heritage would send me another kit. He was professional, reassuring and helpful. And must be a magician because the that afternoon I got notification that my envelope had arrived. I have been very impressed so far with this whole process. The kits were professionally packaged, it was easy, the instructions were clear, the website access is cool and now my experience with customer service was 5 star. What started as a lark, is quickly becoming really interesting. We cannot wait for our results!
I contacted the customer services as I had sent two samples and had been informed only one had arrived. I was emailed an answer within minutes assuring me they would send another kit free of charge if necessary but advising me to wait a few days. As advised the second kit arrived a few days later and customer services emailed again making sure I knew and I was satisfied. I wish all customer service departments were this efficient and caring. I am re submitting this review as I had mistakenly given the wrong star rating.
Dear Jillian,
I regret to find your one-star review although, I'm happy to find you have had a good experience with contacting our support center.
Please feel free to contact us anytime if you have any other issues, we would always be happy to help.
After a year's lapse in working on my family tree, I had forgotten much of the limited knowledge that I had in genealogy. I couldn't even get started, for several major problems became apparent. A member of your support team, Megan, gave excellent assistance in resolving these issues. With renewed confidence and a clear path ahead, I am looking forward to making great progress in my family research. I am grateful for the help given by the My Heritage support team.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.

Dear Chris,
I'm sorry to read your low star review and I deeply sympathize with the delay you have experienced.
Indeed, genealogy research is currently a very popular subject and we do have a large influx of questions and requests coming to us daily. Therefore, one may experience a delay when attempting to contact our support team at times.
It is also true that DNA processing is a very long procedure and may feel like forever and a day at times. Your patience is highly appreciated and I am happy to hear that Desmond was able to help you.
Your feedback and overall satisfaction are extremely important to us, therefore, if you need any assistance in the future with the progress of your research, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected]. I'd be happy to help you with high priority.
Sincerely
Rafael
