MyHeritage were very helpful and clear in making suggestions to solve my problems.
Many of the issues seemed to be caused by using Safari on my Mac laptop, because it was suggested that I use Google Chrome which suits the MyHeritage system better. I was also using two different computers to manage the Family Tree and that caused a conflict for the site.

I cannot say enough about the patience and persistence of EdenC. Eden took at least an hour trying several troubleshooting strategies and, with much determination, restored and tested the sync function of my Family Tree Builder. Eden obviously knows how to navigate an imac computer which was impressive. All of Eden's emails really helped me understand the Tree issues and prepared me for our very successful TeamViewer session. I was also truly impressed with Eden's knowledge of the Family Tree Builder software. I feel very comfortable knowing that My Heritage can be so helpful. I'm the first person in my extended family to live in the UK. Going back through 400 years of our family tree no family member every lived in the UK and a few emigrated to the USA in the 1800's. Guess the surprise to be told that I am 84.5% English. Utter load of nonsense. They clearly take your address, look at your family tree and base their findings on that. Or they look at where most of the 0,02% of matches now live. The results they then submitted to me only show partial matches predominantly in guess where,... The Netherlands, where my family has been based for over 400 years and a few matches in the Anglo-Saxon world. I only moved to the UK about 30 years ago. I can't imagine that in those years my genes have adapted to being English and scrubbed off 400 years or 84.5% of my Dutch heritage. This is either a complete mess up by MyHeritage.com or they have no idea what they're doing. If they base this number of the people alive with a partial match in genes, then it's understandable where they get that figure from. But to say that the offspring of a direct ancestor who emigrated to the USA 200 years ago and procreated successfully has an impact on my genes is a bit far fetched.
Our own research indicate that we're from the Bask country and a direct ancestor invaded the Netherlands with the Duke of Alva in the early 1600's. Can't find that back in the DNA results. Perhaps he did a detour via Finland, as indicated in the DNA results.
I would not have let my genetics analysed by them if I had know how inaccurate they were. As I said, a complete waste of money.

Ancestry is far better, looks better and has hints that really help to fill in the tree. I was sold this because I have taken the DNA test, they guy told me how much better they were than Ancestry because they focus more on the UK rather then the USA yet every time I try to research something regardless of the area I put in it comes up with suggestions from Australia and Tasmania, way off the mark. Also on Ancestry they have a detailed search option where as My Heritage is very limited. Even when you do put criteria in the search seems to ignore most of it. Very disappointed, I just hope when the DNA comes back there is some useful links and information or this would be a £139 waste of money!

I can trace my family back in Sweden over 200 years and back in Denmark over 150 years. MyHeritage provided 500 matching people links in Sweden and almost 200 in Denmark. They then informed me that I have zero ethnic connection to Sweden or Denmark. Clearly something in their algorithms is not working.

Heritage DNA took my money and they are refusing to give me my results I was contacted by someone who worked for them due to my complaint I live on this site I'm assuming they respond so people could think keyword think that they are taking care of the problem however Its all for show and I have not received a response and I responded to her pretty fast so once again I would not go with my heritage please go with my ancestry or 23 and me because my heritage is taking people DNA for reasons unknown

I was approached by MyHeritage to renew my subscription. I was convinced by the discount but was bullied into taking the subscription immediately (i wanted to do it a few days later - after payday).
The amount that promised was just under R800.
A second amount for R1106 then also went off. I have been trying to get hold of MyHeritage for them to explain what is going on. It is nearly impossible to get hold of them. One can only get in contact via Facetime - an avenue not available to me. Their contact phone number on Google does not exist.
I would suggest to anyone to rather use any of the other sites.
I have not got any help from MyHeritage with the problem with Smart Matches. I get many remind about my smart matches but the problem is HyHeritages.

Not satisfied with lack of solutions
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
