Your apprehension was natural, Mary. We understand where scam victims are coming from. For that reason, we always advise them to ask as many questions of us as they like. And we have let Eva know that you appreciate it.

I got appproached by Jack stevens about a very old bookmakers account that went belly up. However Jack from Btc transactions convinced me that I had 11+bitcoins outstanding and he would help me get it,, I initially paid $250 into a Ollie cash machine, and bought some bitcoin,,he forwarded me a QR code so that I could pay cash into that account, then he said because it was an old account 2008, the system has changed and I needed to pay insurance of 2600,, which I unfortunately did, then he needed another 3500 to pay for fees associated with the transfer, and as I asked him to put into a bank that when he asked for another 4500, which I haven't paid,
Then he created a elitealcoin page which allegedly told me I was due 740,000 dollars, on looking deeper into the alitealtcoin web site you will see it is just a face, none of the actual highlights go any further than the first page, plus there are several grammar faults,,I found this community page and sent of a note and am very grateful for the quick response.
That's exactly how a classic bitcoin scam works Tony. It starts with $250 and then they attempt to cajole you into despoiting more money by dangling the prospect of a huge return, or they ask you to pay for insurance or even taxes. Luckily you spotted the signs early.
It was good advice she gave me but it actually didn't help me 100%
Miriam was a star she couldn't help me But gave me some great advice on how to proceed forward with my case.

Miriam was very knowledgeable in giving advice relating to my situation where I was scammed out of money by the platform TryTrade. Miriam was stating that she has assisted numerous people in similar situations who like me did not know what to do. Her advise has given me some hope of recovering some of my monies. Great advise and friendly. Thanks Rob.

MyChargeBack: A website that promises wonders but a low-end service that is limited to provide you a standard letter for your bank, a "Cyber Intelligence Report" without interest and nothing exploitable whose writing takes more than four months and at the end of the process the proposal to transmit the file to an exotic and unknown law firm in an unusual location. Conclusion: An unnecessary and sterile expense and false hopes!
We thank Claude for identifying himself to us, which allowed us to review his complete file. We found that he was provided with all of the services specified in our Statement of Work, which he signed. Specifically, these services were a bank wire recall and a Cyber Intelligence Report. We sense, however, that Claude misunderstood the purpose of our Cyber Intelligence Report. It is not a recovery service. It is a compilation of research that identifies the individuals who own and run the beneficiary firm. The information it contains is indeed useful because it can assist attorneys in proving to the regulator and/or ombudsman that the bank was negligent in agreeing to wire money to beneficiaries engaged in illegal financial activities in the event the client's bank refuses to grant a recall. If that can be proven, the regulator and/or ombudsman will be held liable for Claude's loss and ordered to refund him. Indeed, his bank ultimately refused to approve the recall and refund the money he wired to the merchant because no funds remained in the merchant's account. We did not accept that as a valid excuse for the bank not to reimburse him. For that reason, we requested Claude's permission to transfer his case -- without any additional cost -- to a EU law firm that specializes in cybercrime in order to appeal the bank's decision to the relevant regulator and/or ombudsman. While the law firm may be "unknown" to Claude and "in an unusual location," it is known to and respected by the EU banking regulators whose decisions will determine the final disposition of cases such as this one. Regrettably, Claude has yet to agree to proceed. We urge him to reconsider his refusal to move his case to the attorneys, since he is only punishing himself by not doing so.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the service of MyChargeBack (MCB).
Writing the whole story here would be too long. I contacted MCB in April 2022 as I was a victim in a pre-IPO Shares scam.
I was contacted very promptly by Estelle Richey (Sales) who promised me that I would receive a 'Cyber Intelligence Report and Bank Wire Intelligence Report' within a few days and the team would act quickly and keep me constantly and pro-actively updated and informed. Furthermore, she urged me to act quickly, as there might still be a chance for the transaction to initiate a call back from the bank.
Unfortunately, it took the case worker assigned to me more than a month and several escalations from me to start working on my case. Totally incompetent. And with that, the time for a recall had passed.
This was followed by a change of the case worker and a lengthy process with mini-steps and constant questioning and escalation from me, as nothing happened and everything took forever.
VERDICT: Good in sales. And after the contract was closed, I unfortunately only had quite incompetent clerks who didn't keep much of what I was promised in the sales call. So far (after 1.5 years) no result and if I don't do follow-ups, nothing happens for months.
Very disappointing. Would have preferred to save the money.
We understand how Carsten feels, and acknowledge that he would have wanted to receive more regular updates than what we otherwise scheduled. Our practice is to update clients when events warrant it. While we appreciate the urgency "to act quickly," we do not operate in a vacuum. The rapidity of progress that can or cannot be made with a case like this also depends on the receptiveness of the bank and the regulator, and the level of cooperation we receive from them. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee in our Terms & Conditions any specific timetable for processing a case or any specific result. As Carsten notes, we are continuing to work on his case. In the meantime, our internal comptroller has reviewed his file and reported that all of the services that he contracted with us (which, however, did not include a Cyber Intelligence Report or a Bank Wire Intelligence Report) were indeed provided. But, to demonstrate our commitment, we will be preparing the Cyber Intelligence Report at no additional cost. Based on our initial findings, we believe that the ensuing investigation will yield data on persons of interest involved in his dispute, which will then allow the law firm we work with in the EU that specializes in cybercrime to send them legal demand letters on his behalf.
Miriam was very empathic and friendly and made me feel actually a lot better in this situation. She gave me structured information on what's going to happen and no misunderstandings appeared and I thank her for that
