Horrible customer service. Shipping guarantees are nonexistent because they hand off to the postal service. My business with go through American Music and Zzounds for now on.
Cancelled an order no problem my bank that i have my mf cc through sent me an email saying i have 0 balance nice job! But my available credit was minus the 738.00 on the order i cancelled so i called mf and they are telling me it will take up to 6 months to credit back my card never ever again will i orderfrom them i now have a guitar center cc. They have 10 times more stuff and have yet to have anu problems with guitar center over the years. Avoid musicians friend at all costs, or it will cost you
Deliveries late and missed Christmas with my order by 3 days, then when I contacted them they were going to refund my purchase, but then sent me RMA instructions instead. Lies & terrible customer service is their company policy!
I ordered a guitar on cyber monday, and the one color i chose is the only one not it stock, so they tell me "it will ship on 16th and arrive the 23rd for Christmas". The 16th came and went and on the 17th i look into it only to find it hadnt shipped yet. I call and only then was i told it was back ordered to jan3rd. I waited for them i would have been screwed for a christmas gift, Gabby the representative tries to tell me its because i have a different ship address than my billing address ( its a gift and i didn't want it to arrive when i want home). Then she goes to talk to the manger, i look on the site and the guitar is in fact in stock and ready to ship, as an appeasement the manager offers a discount and free 2 day shipping ( which temporarily made me happy). Next issue it doesn't arrive in 2 days. I l call and they say we sent it, so its Ups PROBLEM NOW. Turns out they sent it out past the deadline to make the Air plane that day, so UPS decided it would be OK for a guitar to ride in a cold truck in 12 degree weather for 6 days and deliver it whenever without contacting musician friend or Me. I told UPS if it arrives and is damaged from being in cold weather for so long, they will be replacing it. I will not buy from them again, they dont appear to care about making lasting customers, too bad because i know a lot of musicians and i will make sure i steer them away... so upset with Musician's Friend and UPS...
Very unhappy with there service! They clearly took my payment for merchandise they did not even carry. I had to call them to find this out nearly a week later. Meanwhile, It was a x-mas gift that I could have purchased from another place, but now too late. They simply do not carry this item regardless of what the web site says. They informed me that this item is indefinitely not stocked. Amazon has fulfillment policies and Musicians Friend does not. Go through Amazon! Good return policy and guarantee fulfillment.
Have spent $ with them before. Bought a guitar that was "scratch and dent". Yes, at a discount - 30%. Evidently there are levels of "scratch and dent" Levels 1,2 and 3. They will not disclose that. Level 3 is for parts, which also was not disclosed. The one I bought showed up with a busted up head stock, evidently Level 3. For a $1000 guitar that I paid $700 for... you have to be kidding me. I would return it, but there are no more of them. Crazy Glue it is. STAY AWAY.
Purchased a pair of Tascam TH-200X studio headphones with free shipping from Musician's Friend. Absolute garbage. So much bass response that they are unusable for any studio work. I contacted MF and was told I would have to pay what the original shipping would have been, and the return shipping (~$35) to return them. When contacted, they basically said, "That is our return policy and that's the way it is!". Wow. After about a 30 year relationship with them, I'm done. They no longer take care of their customers. Sweetwater is much better.
I ordered a guitar for my husband for Christmas on Black Friday (great prices) yesterday I was looking for order information and couldn't find any so I made a call to musicians friend the man I talked to was very kind, he looked up the shipping and said that the guitar would be at my house on Thursday the 5th. I was excited. Today I receive and email and it said that my order had been canceled. I made a phone call today and the guitar is no longer available. They are willing to sell me the same guitar for more money since it's not Black Friday. I'm NOT happy and will never ever do business with this company.
This was the first time we made an orders here online.
Ordering was easily enough.
Fed-ex delivered an incomplete order.
We ordered the less Paul pack.
The guitar shows up (late)
As I check to see where the rest of the order is. I am informed that I would have to send back the guitar, and then re order again.
I can buy it at a local guitar center for more, but completely less hassle the get a full order.
1 either the fulfillment center made a mess of not sending the order
Or 2 FedEx stole the amp and other items
(Which would be be surprised if.)
The girl I spoke with on the issue was very helpful. And very professional
But I don't think I will reorder.
I would be more at ease knowing even if I have to spend more at a store. I won't have to go through the hassle and probably not get it on time for Christmas day./if at all
Ordered two acoustic guitar cases on sale (with a history of over $1000/year in the past from Musicians Friend... so GOOD customer). Sale said backordered on acoustic gtr cases until like 3 months later (reason for sale price, which is common on items on their website). At first, it was good. They sent me a reminder email saying items still backordered and that they would be sending when in stock. After THREE months, I received the last update on Sept 10,2019... saying items still backordered and that they would send when in stock. On Sept. 17, got an email saying both items had been cancelled. When I called about cancellation, rep said it was MY responsibility to call and keep the items "active" since it had been so long since the order date (again, a common practice for their online sales across MANY items on their website. Remember, the item said it would be three plus months at time of sale... and REASON for the cheaper price. Buy now and save on a new product... kind of deal. So, to summarize, it was MY fault for ordering items and not calling them to keep it active (so that once it got in stock, it would be sent to me), even though Musician Friend monthly emails told me I needed to do nothing to keep it active. SECOND COMPLAINT. If you do order a case (happened on more than two OTHER orders), and that case comes in dented and damaged like my 3-4 cases did over the span of a year and three or so orders. Well, guess what... it's the CONSUMER'S responsibility to pay shipping back for cases that are basically crap when they arrive... so FALSE ADVERTISING on return policy. This policy changed at the beginning of 2019, because previous to this, their policy was to honor the bad cases and send you another on them for sending you a hunk of junk. But, not after Jan. 1,2019... with NO NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE FOR CONSUMER. Ohh yeah, and guess what about a replacement. Once the case or item is received back from you, you don't get the sale price replacement that you PAID FOR INITIALLY. You, then, have to pay whatever the current price is to get that item again.>SO BUYER BEWARE ABOUT ANY MUSICIAN FRIEND SALES>>>>>THEY ARE NOT MUSICIANS' FRIEND. IT SHOULD BE CALLED MUSICIANS' FIEND... STUPID DEAL OF THE DAY OR HOUR (or any sale they have)... is just that... STUPID and from a FIEND. BEWARE!
I have purchased from Musicians Friend since they opened in 1983 - after countless transactions I have yet to ever have a problem with them. Have never experienced such prompt service and shipping from any other retailer of any products as I have from Musicians Friend. Absolutely the finest and dedicated company.
I stopped buying from Musician's Friend 2 years ago and went to American music and Sweetwater. Never had an issue with either one of them. Musician's Friend sucks! Orders are never on time and the only think they have to say is sorry. Sorry is the key word here at I will never deal with these butt heads or Guitar Center again! They are the same company for those who don't know it as well as music and arts
Rude customer service. Ordered from them, shipping on one item was fast and the other two didn't come. I called and they said the other two were on backorder and wouldn't ship for 2 months. I had to cancel.
The amp I needed for an upcoming gig was advertised "In Stock and Ready to Ship". They charged my card and promptly sent me an email that the amp was on a 2 month backorder. I cancelled and had to wait 3 days for my card to be credited.
I wouldn't have even bothered leaving a review, but after dealing with these guys I figured I would. Maybe they saw the negative feedback and improved? I bought a bunch of stuff from them and it shipped quickly. No complaints here.
They ship crap. Avoid this place at all costs. They half price junk and send to you. The tuner is no working. No sound from electronics. Smells like someone pissed in it.
I purchased a Tama drum set and was talked into the warranty for $109.99. They said how great of a deal it was and that you can send any part of the drum in to be repaired no matter what the cause. Roughly a month after reviving the drum set the snare drum broke and requires service, so I called and they said no problem send it in and we'll get it repaired. I asked how long I could expect the repair to take and the rep said typically around 10 days including shipping. After they sent me the shipping label I took it to UPS the same day and shipped it. The repair company received the drum a couple days later so I gave it a week and a half and still didn't hear anything, so I called them. They couldn't figure out what was taking so long, so they said to give them up to 3 business days to find out and they'd call me back. A week later I called them because they never got back to me. This has happened every week since. This is the 7th week since first contacting them, and still no resolve, even after asking to talk to a supervisor. His solution is that if after 45 days goes by, they can reimbursed me for that part of the kit. So just to recap $110 for the warranty, 45 days of having to call them every week for an update with only one returned call, and they will give me my money back for the drum so that I can buy a new snare drum (that will likely cost me more than the first because it was bought in a kit). Long story short Musician's Friend is great to buy from, but don't waste your money or time on the warranty, unless you're not a working musician and can wait a month and a half for a repair.
So, after ordering a new bass for my son, to be shipped to Maryland, we anxiously awaited the arrival excited to see it. Being it was a surprise it was tracked accordingly. Upon arrival and my sons return home, he found the brand new bass guitar sitting on the side walk soaked with water and the bass damaged due to the water. UPS had left it out in the rain.
Scared of the expected response from Guitar Friend "It's not our fault, file a claim with UPS." They instead addressed the issue, shipped a new one for return of the damaged one and we are all happy. Robert Jackson was amazing! He took that horror away and made it right. I HIGHLY recommend them as well will purchase from them again in the future. Thank you for doing the RIGHT thing to keep us all happy.
I spent lots of money with MF until I ordered a Seydel Saxony Orchestra tuned Chromatic and received a Setdel Deluxe chromatic. The deluxe is a piece of crap compared to the Saxony. It was 100% their mistake but they required ME to pay shipping and a sanitation charge. That was my last order with them. I've since bought from Kraft music (keyboard) and Rockin'Rons Music.
