MaxSold never disappoints... unless you've lost out on a bid that is :) In the Ottawa region, the staff have always been friendly and helpful whenever I go to pick up auction items AND selling with them? INCREDIBLE. I ran into some user-troubles at first and within a day, a form was built for me to submit my items using a PC and photos that way too. They could not have been more accommodating or helpful. It's been a great way to clear the clutter AND purchase some interesting items without battling the snow storms.

I have successfully bough AND sold with MaxSold. Being able to set your maximum bid means no buyers remorse and you can still get amazing items for fabulous prices. I managed my own auction and the customer service is fantastic. It all went so well I am doing another one now! I recommend to all my friends and family.

Absolutely love buying and selling from maxsold! Locally here in Atlanta theres many of repeat buyers so it almost forms a small community of people you see often. I still cant believe some of the great deals Ive found purchasing through maxsold! Highly recommended!

Maxsold is great when you feel you have too much clutter and are not able or want to throw things out. They are extremely helpful at all stages and the customers and sellers are really nice people and we form a little maxsold family as you run into the same people often. I love it!

For the client: If your client needs to thin out or clear a property on a timely basis, this is the way to go. It has the added benefit of being affordable, easy to execute and safer - in that you know all buyers.
For the cataloguer, the app on your smart device enables you to catalog a whole house in less than a day. Editing the catalog is easy and quick too, with the ability to combine lots.

Just for background, I usually buy from about 10 auction companies in the DC area, Maxsold, being one of the ones I'd recommend least. Probably the worst thing about them is that the pictures and descriptions are usually lacking and there are never previews (at least in the DC area, not sure about other areas). Auction pickups are usually under-staffed, meaning long waits to get items. Employees are allowed to bid on items (only one other company in the area I know of which allows this) which can possibly falsely raise prices. Not saying it does, but definitely a conflict of interests.

We appreciate the feedback. As a company growing by 100% every year, managing growth through continuous improvement is a core part of our business and certainly wait times is something we continue to manage. Typical wait times should be 1-20 minutes while we ensure the safety and security of all items and personnel on site. We feel this is a vast improvement over 6+ hours in front of a live auctioneer or hours in line at an estate sale with no guarantees that you will win and walk away with anything). For background, Maxsold used to provide previews but found that less than 1% of bidders would attend making the event cost prohibitive. Instead of raising buyer’s premiums typical industry standards of 15%-25%, we try to keep costs down by eliminating things that the market indicates they don’t really want or need. In response to no preview, maxsold has a full/partial refund process for items found to be in a condition other than what was described on our website. Because we work for our Sellers and need 100% of the items sold and removed for the best possible prices, everyone (including maxsold team members with no access to the back end systems) are allowed to bid as. Although they may have a moderate advantage over the bidding public given that 2 or 3 team members may have been on site during cataloging, anyone is welcome to apply and join our ever growing team and enjoy both the challenges and rewards of the job while having the liberty to bid on items they wish against the ever growing market of bidders.

I have bought from Maxsold auctions about 6 -8 times. Always been extremely happy with my purchases. They match the description in the auction ad. Which is really important. The employees have always been professional and helpful. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

The maxsold site is easy to use and a great way to purchase items you may not be able to find in stores anymore. I love the vintage oddities that estate sales offer and Maxsold has been the easiest way to bid. Im always excited to check out whats available in my area.

I find Maxsold offers a variety of sales ranging from Antiques to Modern pieces. I had a dispute about a listing on books and they corrected it right away with there maxsold form. In 3-4 years of buying so much from this site, it has been very good.

I have participated in estate sales and on on-site auctions for many many years. Even as a child I recall going to auctions and waving my grandmother's paddle to win my "things". As I got older the stress would get to me to the point that I would bet on things I didn't need just to win LOL. When I first discovered maxsold, I was skeptical. But after at least 10 successful auction purchases (and a few that I was hoping not to win haha) I can truly say that Max old issiimply the best auction program to participate in. With no reserve and no minimum bid, friendly employees working at every site, easy in easy out, easy pay and complete credit card security it is the way to go! If i ever have to downsize or know someone who is I'll recommend MaxSold without hesitation

Employees who are incompetent and unprofessional are placed in positions of authority which they are ill equipped to handle. Will never go to another of their poorly run auctions.

It’s an unfortunate reality that some customers do not appreciate the enormous responsibility the Maxsold team has in managing the safety and security of all customers at pickup. We also expect our customer community to support this enormous responsibility through their actions while on site while also inviting them to provide feedback through our secret shopper reports. When we receive reports that a customer failed to follow policies and direction, we remove them from the bidding community. This action prevents future disappointment with that customer while also respecting the wishes of the larger bidding community and team as a whole. When this is requested, we do not take it lightly, but when feedback is overwhelming regarding unsafe and/or disrespectful behaviour by someone on site, Maxsold takes action knowing full well that it is likely to cause a retaliatory response (as in this case). It is a small price to pay to ensure we maintain the safety and security of both the pickup site and our community of customers as a whole.

This action is covered under our bidder terms regarding COMMUNITY STANDARDS: “MaxSold strives to provide our clients and employees with a safe, supportive marketplace and workspace. As such, any abusive or threatening statements or behavior, or other actions deemed inconsistent with these Community Standards in the sole discretion of MaxSold Ltd., may result in revocation of bidding privileges and closure of accounts of those responsible without notice. It is our community standard that everyone be treated with courtesy and respect.”

If you are purchasing for the first time online with Maxsold you will find it very easy to navigate through the website. It is secure, easy to follow, easy to bid and also exciting! For those who are not computer skilled, no need to worry!
Once you have won what you are bidding on, going to pick your goodies up is just as fun. The staff waiting for you will get your item or items for you. The are helpful and very pleasant.

I love Maxsold! When I have a little extra money I go to Maxsold and check out their auctions. I like to buy from some of the short sale auctions. It's like bidding on a storage locker! I bought boxes of office supplies once and was surprised at the collection of crystal paper weights I found in one of the boxes. I am a regular buyer and I have participated in dozens of auctions and have had no problems, but lots of pleasant surprises!

Maxsold testimonials from actual Sellers as well as data from alternatives we’ve seen others use solidify the fact that other 3rd party solutions cannot solve the stuff problem for a better net result. In fact, although our commission works well in high end scenarios, it was built specifically to be the most economic model in modest value scenarios that, before Maxsold, could only be solved by junk and donation solutions as alternative sale of goods companies require fair high minimum values than Maxsold.

If a Seller values their time at $0/hr, there’s certainly no competing with that as it can take an individual 100s of hours to sell 10s of items via free DIY solutions. However, no service provider, Maxsold or otherwise, can (or should) be an alternative in this scenario.

I was contemplating using MaxSold to clear out my and my sister's house until I checked things out and realized that they cannot really help the seller get a fair price due to all the fees and commissions, which is unfortunate. As a buyer though, it is a great place to find a bargain. They are correct when they state that it is difficult to get rid of large items, but it is not impossible.
