Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

Bought Match last Friday. Tech support doesnt work weekends. So here it us Tuesday morning and still no help. All I need is my phone verified. Thus is bullcrap I want my money back to try another site. Will cancel tbe credit card tomorrow afternoon.
A rip off. If you have a complaint you wait an hour and they save to change your preferences which does no good. The women I was able to see lived well over 100 miles away. I had two personal lady friends on here and they never even GOT my message! Others do 't exist or quit months ago. Just a totally ripoff.
DON'T WASTE MONEY OR TIME ON THIS SITE- IT IS A MONEY SCAM-GETTING YOU TO SPEND MONEY TO BUY POINTS-INSTEAD OF MONTHLY OR QUARTLY SERVICE-TOTAL RIPOFF-THEY GUARANTEE A DATE-YOU DON'T GET THAT EITHER.
6 separate times I received emails from Match indicating I had a message, when I followed the link there was nothing there. Numerous calls to customer services, only to learn they really had no idea, but assumed it was fake profiles. No helpful. Today I received another email, nothing there. Contacted CS, and they sent me to a website that wanted my credit card information to CHARGE ME to fix the situation, WTH.
So very strange the day you decide to leave Match.com site, surprisingly you tend to get thrice the number of Likes and messages, coupled with a 50% discount to return back to their site. How low and deceitful taking advantage of customers. While being a member this was never the case, I'd get 1 or 2 likes/messages a fortnight, in less than 2 weeks of unsubscribing with Match.com I've received 6 likes and couple messages. This is not just my opinion but several colleagues of mine that received the same response.
I paid for 6 months, after a few weeks they turned of my likes/matches to get me to pay more than the original membership. Hung up on numerous times by their out of country call center. A sham an rip off. Trash!
Investing money is one thing, wasting it is another. Don't waste it pointlessly on Match. Match is anything but a dating site. Most of my matches were ridiculously inappropriate or downright odd. There are a lot of dead profiles, that's why very few letters actually get replies. Apart from throwing poor matches at you who will never write you back, Match never filters off scammers. Whenever you see a pretty lady on Match, you should get suspicious. In all likelihood, if she shows interest in you, she will soon come up with some sort of sob story and ask you for money. If you value your time and money - just stay away Match!

I was very specific in my profile and in my comments about just what I was looking for in a partner. Match sent me full pages of gay men and women, they sent me a photo of Joe Biden in front of the American flag, people whose faces you couldn't see because they were covered with hats, goggles and masks. A lot of people just having their fun at my expense and Match doesn't stop them. They really thought Biden was a possibility for me? And the scammers! If I could easily detect them, why couldn't they? If they're algorithms are so sophisticated, why do they allow them to get through to legitimate subscribers? $$$$$$ They could care less about your happiness unless it means a referral to them. To anyone out there, but especially women, before trying any online dating service, watch some YouTube videos about the typical dating scammer and how they operate. One guy from Match followed this step by step. Even found him on BBB where someone had filed a complaint against Match a few years ago under a different name, but he tried to do the same to me. And when they tell you, check out my website online, just remember, anyone can create a website. He just did a lousy job of it. Do your detective work. Don't accept excuses. Match, you should be ashamed. You don't even deserve one star for allowing people like that to join. You need to create a system with background checks. I, for one, would be much more likely to try it. But you've turned me off against all of them now.
These sites are ALL the same with many operated by the same parent company.
Tip: If you decide to join to ANY in the future only use Paypal (not a credit card). So far I have gotten refunds super quick from 2 scam sites that didn't live up to the hype. Also on PP, you can opt your settings to block auto renewals if they try to charge you again.
Sadly some ONLY offer payment via credit card, so stay away from those 100% if you do not want to empty your bank account.
Joined in december had no likes up to feb so tried to leave wouldnt let me kept taking money for further 4month guess what 2 dys after finally leaving got 3likes how weird but not if iys a scam the live coach is a robot who cannot help you message gary kreman the founder lets get this site shut down
I've tried this app two different times in three years. Same exact experience both times. Match is ungodly expensive at $40 a month! Then, they want you to pay extra ($7) to be "boosted" for ONE HOUR! You also have to pay extra for other features.
Half of the profiles are fake.
I have never in my life come across more rude men than I have on match.com. And I've worked in bars and strip clubs. So not only do you get people messaging you that have qualities you have marked as dealbreakers, so many of them are horrible.
I don't date anybody with kids. Which is a dealbreaker. Why are 75% of my messages
from men with kids? Who then get angry at you when you politely turn them down? I was getting 20 to 30 messages a day. And the ones that I wasn't interested in, which was all of them, I just simply didn't reply to. Which I even put on my profile, if I don't reply it simply means I'm not interested. Which then prompted these people to send me more messages being rude that I didn't "say thank you" for the compliments. Or-continue sending more messages asking why I viewed their profile but didn't send them a message. Doesn't surprise me why so many of these people are single.
Stick with the free apps.
I've used it throughout the past 15 yrs and it has become the most non productive dating site over the choices out there. Unless you pay premium, you can not send or see messages. So, the no premium is a scam. Most of my matches were all out of state. And don't think that just because you're paying, you'll get better choices. I came across just as many fake profiles on match than on others. In addition to the expensive fees, they are gender bias. My male friend gets discounts of 10$/ month and I'm pretty sure it's because there are a lot less men then woman where i live. When I called they would only give me 33$/month. Lastly, I cancelled and it never went into their system so i was charged another 3 months and they refused to refund me, even after i have been a paying customer for so many years. Do not waste your money.
Was a profile member for several months until a mutual like, so decided to subscribe. The chat is very simple, you reply to a member's photo and exchange rapid fire messages on first day, nothing really intuitive, as they rarely read your profile it could be a robot responding (!) Then you ask for a voice call, "yeah, no problem", but busy tonight and tomorrow and oh by the way that's too soon (!) If you want to be wound up and made to feel a fool, subscribe it's good for character building (!) But I guess this model could be applied to ALL dating sites as it's the "online messaging" that makes them money.
As soon as I set up my profile, Match showed me an assortment of the ugliest mofos in my area. It was as if the app said, "Welcome to Match! Go $#*! yourself." I have seldom felt so disrespected. It didn't even *try* to start off showing me the best-looking people in my city at an attempt to strike a little hope in my heart — which leads me to wonder, what kind of business is this? When navigating the app for free, one's experience is incredibly limited. It's an app that *wants* your money. So what's going on? Although I didn't spend a single penny on Match (because ew), I feel like my short experience on it makes me entitled to financial compensation.
Joined about 2 weeks ago. So far the education and ethnicity of fellows I'd be interested in meeting has been ignored by the matchmakers and there are scammers, so beware. My membership is for a minimum three months at a cost of $35/month. These sites are more interesting for younger people but I won't be renewing membership at this age. The few fellows who have replied have been uninteresting and relatively uneducated. I'm onsite until August and if things change, I'll be updating my review. In the meantime if this saves a senior some money, all well and good.
Match sends pictures of the same women over and over again. Tried to contact some with no response. I specified that I wanted to meet healthy athletic women. Keep getting obese rest home dwellers. I was informed by one Match member who I had some contact with that Match was using her profile and picture after she had canceled. I believe that most of the desirable women that Match sent me are not still using the site. Match sends contacts and after sending them a "like, their profile never shows any online activity. They are not current members, but Match will send their picture and profile over and over again. It is a total waste of time and money.
After trying and trying on that dating site, I couldn't find any woman available.
Unfortunately I couldn't match their criteria due to my height, skin color and ethnicity.
Most of the women were interested in 6'0" tall white caucasian males.
Then I kept on messaging, messaging, messaging and clicking on their like and then nobody answered me.
I didn't even complete my profile - determined that Match.com just sends me anything they think I might like. And after one day - I opted OUT of any emails and deleted my profile. Yet they still keep sending me crap. And I mean CRAP - complete SPAM from out of area. No NO NO!
This site is for sure successful if you subscribe. However, I give it a 1 star because all the women on this app are emotionally damaged. If I was looking for a quick $#*! I'd of stayed on bumble. I thought this was for adults who knew what they wanted? More like mentally damaged women who don't know what they want and just waste my time. 10/10 girls I met on here I slept with but also just weren't ready for anything serious. So I guess it just depends what your looking for and my opinion is jaded because I want something real.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
