Match Reviews Summary

Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

More and more advertisements - all match.com cares about is match.com itself, and the money it receives from its paying members - it clearly doesn't care about the members themselves

Buyer beware with this site, It is full of Nigerian scammers who post pictures of guys who knows where they got them from. I just busted one when he made the stupid mistake of sending a "recent Picture" from an email address that led to a nigerian. And he was suppossed to be Italian! When question about the address his answer I forgot I was log on under my work email". His texts were coming from sight you sign up you get a local number by the zipcode you want and text for free from your computer! But sadly a lot of women fall for it. I am too curious in life for that! Stay away I have a friend who had fallen for it and got scammed.

They have an auto-renewal process which boarder lines on scam. There is no notification telling you when the renewal will happen, and they refuse to refund your money once it has been renewed. I requested cancellation just 1 hour after they billed me and they still refused a refund. What makes it worse is I was sure I had cancelled beforehand and I am positive that this was a mistake in their computers. I had an email confirming my cancellation with confirmation # and they insisted there was nothing they could do. I even talked to their supervisor after being put on hold for nearly an hour just to hear "sorry, this is our policy." Total BS. Stay away from this site if at all possible.

In the past i had decent experiences with this site, but lately not so much. Supposedly a 27 year old woman with light brown hair who also enjoyed the performing had chose me. So I ran a search on two separate occasions and I was pretty much able to narrow down my potential love interest. I could also tell because she had been online during the timeframe.

I thought she was pretty hot and interesting. But then when I tried again using the same criteria I couldn't find her. Obviously, Match figured out what I was doing which tells me it was probably a fake profile. I don't see why people sign up for this service without knowing at least something about the people who view their site. Plus it's ridiculously expensive

I joined this site, everyone in the world viewed my profile and only two unattractive men wrote to me. When I tried to cancel my membership, Match told me because I wrote an email that was never answered I could not get my money back. It is a VERY expensive site for NO results. I have heard from other women the exact same thing. I wouldn't wastw your money when there are free sites that have the same men on it.

I register 5 days ago and have had constant problems with Match.com. In short its a really time consuming site and not at all user friendly. If you write some text save it as if you get any error like too many words or whatever it will delete the whole text. Also save it as if for some reason they chose not to show your text online they just delete it wholesale and you loose it all. This could be just one sentence they don't like. I had a six month subscription and after 3 hours and only sending two emails and a few winks I thought this is rubbish and asked for a refund. Please note nothing of note done. And they said no - flat. I had to write several emails to get them to agree to a one month sub and a refund but they took the one month and will refund the six months in 7 days. Subsequently they have killed my subscribe all together so even if I wanted to use the site I couldn't. I noted this on my profile and they deleted all the text I had saved hence my other note. The site doesn't work at all well on mac devices such as an ipad and most interaction you have will not be registered. They blame inconsistent wifi but that's pony as MSF works fine and never crashes in safari. Don't use the app that's really poor. Its muddled, confusing and the information really isn't very good. In short your paying £75 every six months for facebook and a poor version of it. Its terrible and will eat away the time you could be spening meeting real people in the real world. Also you'll receive lots of emails saying you've been contacted by ladies etc before you subscribe and they'll name them but as soon as you subscribe these ladies just disappear. Its a trick to make you join and then if you use one paid for thing - send one wink, check one view, your money is gone. They are very jobs worth in nature. Read the terms as they even say our product wont work on safari so your are screwed each way. If it goes wrong there customer service is terrible and note the number down before you subscribe as you wont find the phone number anywhere else once you do. Also cancel your auto renew as they wont and if you do like me get a refund they reset the auto renew. Also they have lots of people but quantity doesn't mean quality and its a real lottery and no better than anywhere else. Better sites around but not as well publicised.

I signed up for their trial period only to find that the so called trial period only lets you view profiles and receive a message. You could not answer the person unless you joined and paid. I became a bit suspicious by this practice because a trial period is supposed to let you try the product or service free with no restrictions. I began to look at reviews and, on average, they could not even get a 2 star rating. There were numerous complaints about fraud, stealing identities, horrendous customer service, and lack of monitoring the site.
Prior to your joining anything, look at the online reviews first and go to more than one site for reviews. Remember, the more reviews, the better information for you. If there are just a few reviews and they are glowing, stay away. Something isn't right.

Nothing against the site... But, pleassseee... I don't even check the site, I have not ever registered... Then why I keep getting all these emails from them? Hello! I don't want to meet anyone... I don't know how many times I have unsubscribe at the bottom info in the email... Like I said, nothing against the site... just respect that not everybody likes to meet other people online.

From my personal experience from Match.com (UNITED KINGDOM)

1) It's expensive
2) They take money off you from your bank BEHIND YOUR BACK!
3) There is a possibility to get dates but ONLY to women you wouldn't date
4) UK women are very very materialistic. So beware!
5) There is also some race issue on there
6) Women hardly send winks. I'm good looking guy, I do some modeling, I have a good job, drive a nice car but i'll say if you want a FUN match.com is worth trying but if you want a SERIOUS relationship stay away
7) Women are too too critical... they expect to find some sort of superman man on there a Very very good looking man. So if you are an average type of guy stay away from this website
8) if I have to rate this site 10 out of 10... I'll rate it 6 out 10 which is not so bad. I did met a considerable number of women some of them were okay, others just wanted sex, I'm afraid the LARGE majority are TIME WASTERS

I'm happily in a relationship with someone I met on there and I've cancelled my account.

This site has been a useful tool for me to meet people I wouldn't normally run into. I've gone on about 5 or 6 dates with people from match and they all looked exactly as they posted. They were also genuine in that they're personalities were pretty much as they were described. I never really ended up clicking with any of them, but that's not any different than regular dating. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm not sure what people are talking about with "fake winks" or scam artists. It might just be that they have low self esteem and dismiss a wake as being real. I can personally say I've never seen a fake profile on match, and quite frankly they have such a huge number of subscribers that it would be a waste of their time and money to do so. Most of the people that complain about this site would complain about any dating site. Put another way, if you aren't someone people would like to date going on a dating website won't change that.

Match is great for searching for what you really want and being able to preview a person before you make any contact. I also tried eharmony and I didn't really like that site. They would match me with a few people that I really had no interest in. That is where I think match has an advantage in that it allows the user to customize the site to the way they want it to be.

I used to go to match.com for a month or so, maybe one bot or two sending a wink.
Now I am back, 12/14/12, and after 3 days, I am getting several, easily more than 10, if not 15 or 20 bots. It's all over, "winks", "they're interested" "like your pics"!
"IM's"
HORRIBLE!

Last time I remember so many bots was when I use to go in yahoo chat rooms.

It's great if you pay for a membership and the person you want to meet also has a membership otherwise he or she will not be able to reply to your message. And they charge way too much in my opinion! There are people that run scams on the site. One time, I talked to a woman who allegedly lived in the next town from me but when I was emailing her she was on a work trip in Nigeria. If you don't know about the money order scammers in Nigeria, now you do. She said she was robbed and lost her passport and wanted to send me a money order, cash it and then send her a check. I told her to go to the American consulate and she didn't think that was a good idea! REALLY? Plus the picture 'she' used ended up being the same pic that I saw on other people's profiles. I think if Match is going to charge people then they should police their site better.

First of all, thanks for reading my review on this website. I paid $30.00 for a month on match.com, assuming that I would be able to at least get a few people to respond to my countless e-mails and IM's. NOT ONE person ever answered in any way. I did have a picture on the site, and also had a very good profile set up. When I contacted customer service, they were completley unhelpful. I would warn a potential subscriber to match.com to NOT give them any money, as their site is completley useless.

While I am sure that there are a lot of perverts and weirdos out there, I think if you use common sense (such as meeting for the first time in a public place, during the day, and letting someone else know where you are going to be), match.com can be a great place to meet new people. I have only interacted with genuine people on the site and never got "fake winks." For new members, search for a discount code before joining. I think I paid $15 a month for a 3 month subscription. I didn't meet anyone on the site, but I also encouraged my best friend to join and she is dating the person from the first date she went on! They are very cute together.

My friend and i signed up for kicks after a girlfriend of hers from grad school met and got engaged to some amazing gem of a man within like 6 months or something. I haven't paid for the service because i'm a student and i don't really see a point except it's fun. Its hard in grad school to really meet ppl unless you're dating your classmates or go to those mixers the business/med/law schools host and there you're bumping into the same lame ppl. Anyways my problem with the site is:
1. You can't read emails for free.
2. there's no trial period
3. All you can do is wink at people

There's no way to contact ppl if you haven't paid... me personally... i think for thosse prices there should at least be a trial period where you can contact a few people maybe once or twice.

Also... i tried to be slick. I've been on there since june and decided to create a new email address and put it in my new edited profile to entice guys to email me for free so i didnt have to sign up and they rejected my new profile stating that i had inappropriate language in my profile and that i was violating the safety of the community... please, knock-it-off

So much for being a broke grad student and trying to pimp the system...

Try as hard as I might, I couldn't get a half decent date on this site. I think they show a lot of profiles of people who just aren't on the site anymore, or who haven't paid their monthly subscription. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are simply looking to kill time.
