Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

MATCH.COM IS A HAVEN & A HOTSPOT FOR SCAMMERS. Match.com will take your money, throw you into a shark tank of scammers & they will procrastinate on doing an investigation or questioning anyone who is suspicious. Stay away from MATCH.COM - it's not worth it.
Unfortunately I have to give match a 1 because they don't have a lower score. Ladies beware! I had a profile up for 3 weeks and in that time I was stalked by three creepy men and scammed by two others. Luckily I'm not that gullible but there are those that are under the misconception that this site is safe and secure WRONG!. Then when I tried to get a refund because I was not going to put up with this anymore, I was denied, even though I was not any where near the deadline. Try and speak to a supervisor, Ha, not a chance. Poor business practice and they don't care about their clients!
Match.com should be closed down for bad business practice. They've always scammed their customers by taking an additional payment without making it clear but now they've made it harder to cancel the hidden direct debit. The sooner they close down the better as they've been taking advantage of their clients for far to long.
I met someone on Match the first week. He was the only man I corresponded with. Within a matter of days he asked for money. He was reported immediately to Match. I called Match requesting my money back. The agent I spoke with said he saw no record of my complaint. However, I received an acknowledgment from Match. Then I was told they NEVER refund money. If that's why I was calling he would hang up because I could not speak with a supervisor. Remember that with Match it's all about the money and not about you or your safety.
I don't understand why people give Match.com all these bad reviews. It worked well for me and I met a few nice ladies. It can be a hit and miss sometimes but my overall experience is good. At the end of the day you'll only find a handful good dating sites anyway: Match and Chemistry, Mingle2day, maybe eharmony. Period.
MATCH.COM GROSSLY AUTO-PRE-RECHARGES YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD AND WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND! I have called all week and they refuse to issue a refund. I had no intention on using the service a second month or being charged for it. I cancelled the service the day the charge hit my card and have not visited the site since. THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE A REFUND! That is UNFAIR, GROSS and NEAR NEGLIGENT!
I guess Match.com is unable to compete with the newer dating sites because they have now become a complete scam. I signed up for the trial, hated it. Nothing but unattractive people on there. Before the end of that month I cancelled my subscription per THEIR site guidelines, well they did not stop taking the $37.00 out of my account. I submitted ANOTHER request asking them to stop. Still wouldn't stop taking my money, from September until February I was STILL paying for this service. So I called my bank and had them block it. I lost my debit card and got a new one, it is now March, they are STILL taking my money. I called customer service and was told that once I got a new debit card that AUTOMATICALLY reinstated me for the subscription. They saw that I requested it to be cancelled 7 months ago, and REFUSED to give me ANY money back. They also somehow got ahold of my new debit card number and have just been helping themselves to my money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE! Total SCAM!
Buyer beware, Match is a scam. Signing-up involves auto renewal, which they say you can cancel, but not so. Your credit card will be charged regardless, and they refuse to refund. Your only way-out is to shut-down the credit card. DON"T BE FOOLED.
So ive been using match for a little over four months now and generally I like it. It's probably sitting 2nd on my all time list mainly because the number of members is so big. FYI in case your interested:
1. WeJustFit.com
2. Match
3. Tinder (screw the haters folks, it's free)

In the last 30 years, I have never had a breech in security on any site I have ever used. This is very dissatisfying on how the match customer service team handled the situation. The fact that someone was able to hack into my account with all my information out there and acting like its not okay by saying "its okay we reset your account and you can still use it". The fact of the matter is, I don't want to use this site ever and will tell everyone I know to not sign up for it. Customer service was poor, management is even more poor. When I requested to talk to a supervisor or manager or how it would be handled with my information out there on my profile, the answer was "well we reset it and you cannot get a refund but feel free to continue to use it For another month." I'll tell everyone to never use this site. I asked for a refund too due to the inconvenience to have to change my password everywhere and they said they don't do refunds and acted like getting hacked is a normal thing and nothing they could do. Do not use match!
I found a match and we decided after a month to be exclusive... we both wrote and thanked match gave them a high rating and after 6 months they started emailing my boyfriend. Letting him know about promotions and that people were interested. We both requested an unsubscribe but a couple months after that they hit me up with promos. It caused doubts and arguments btw us... they were relentless!
I have been on Match.com several times and have been disappointed both times. This dating site, purportedly the largest of it's kind, is not inexpensive and does not allow someone to purchase a monthly membership--only three months or more. Yes, I am quite picky about my dating choices but many of the women on here are equally or more so, particularly in the matter of "financial security." I frequently saw many women's ads that requested men to have incomes of 150k plus! I never actually dated any women on Match because I encountered same old problem--not interested in women who sent me winks and never heard back from women that I was interested in. But my BIGGEST beef with the site and one that makes me suspect that Match is almost a scam was this--while a member I would go for long periods of no activity whatsoever. The moment my membership expired I was bombarded with winks and supposed messages from women. This really ticked me off to the point where I unsubscribed Match and will not have anything to do with them again!
Tried it for a few months in 2016 and cancelled. In 2017, after four month, suddently they renewed my account without me knowing and charged my credit card without me knowing. Requested refund through customer service but never received it. Scammers! Beware. The site itself is useless. Seems they try to create artificial activity.
Be aware that Match.Com will take subscriptions even if you cancel. I joined Match Affinity for £9.99 I cancelled about a week after. I have been charged £44.95 for Match Com which I did not subscribe to. Customer service useless.
Please be aware of this. I have heard of other cases too... Use another Dating Site...
They are ROBBERS!
The matches at least in my age group and area are awful. 45 to 63, Portland, OR. Unintelligent, no class, and men who don't take care of themselves or hide the fact they're bald with hats. Really? Do you think we don't know why you're always wearing a hat?! At least 3 emails sent to me were scams. I complained because I checked online and verified this and no one ever responded back to me from Match!
I tried match.com on 2015 for 3 months and canceled it. I canceled the email account I used for it. Now after more than a year later I realized that they are still charging me. I called the customer service and tell them that I have not even log on the their sit after the 3 month. No, they won't check. They won't give me the manager's name, number or any contect information. Most arrogant and enraging. Don't have to say that I didn't get a date during that 3 months. Rotten business.
I had a free profile on Match for months and decided to try a paid subscription. Within days my profile was hacked and my profile was changed, moved from man seeking women to woman seeking women and a strange woman's picture was put up. I moved the profile to hidden and tried to change my password but couldn't. I e-mailed Match to try to get this resolved and they terminated my account. When I asked why they simply said that I would need a court order to find out, or tough we're not telling you. They claimed that I would get a full refund but I will believe that when I see it. They clearly don't care at all about paying customers unless they are stealing their money.
Worse potential dating site ever. Scammers everywhere. I put out an amazing profile with 26 pictures. I am a successful, fun, honest guy. I get all kinds of emails and interests that are just drama and games. I am so done with Match
Don't be fooled. I signed up for a one month membership knowing that for twice the price I could have 6 months because I only wanted a one month trial. What they don't tell you is that ALL memberships automatically renew. There is no box to check an no recurrent billing statement just their policy. Guess what, they won't refund your payment! Don't let them scam you!
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
