Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

Been using several dating sites during the last couple months. Decided to use Match, Mingle2day and Cupid. Did not really like Cupid, to be honest but had a couple of dates on Mingle2day and Match. Both sites are really worth trying. 4 out of 5.
The site is not clear on authorization of charging options. It didn't give me many options for guys so I stopped using it and figured three months were done. Geez. I didn't realize until three extra charges later that I was continually being charged! I complained and got one charge removed. I got robbed $140 from match.com
This site should be shut down! They do not tell you they will auto-charge your card $150, and offer no recourse. I have never done business with such a unethical company before! The dating options are poor, and definitely not worth it considering the apps out there are way superior.
I was very unhappy with the service, a lot of the responses were fraudulent. I signed up for 3 month trial and was automatically renewed without my knowledge and then told I was not eligible for a refund. I feel I was ripped off.
The men there NEVER answer. If they happen to answer run because they are stalkers or African scam artists. I was approached by all the wrong men. You can specify if something totally turns you off so you get matched with smokers, drinkers, whatever. They were all matched with me. Not worth the money. By the way, full disclosure... I was kicked off the site. I have no idea why. They didn't tell me. They just said I did something wrong and they were terminating my account and refunding my money. So, if you want a refund piss someone off. Lol
Several scammers promising to be your girlfriend. Lots of women looking for the knight in shinning armor. Lots of fake pictures and fake profiles.
If you want to be scammed by all the fake profiles or by match.com themselves, then this is the place for you. I would not recommend this site to a dog! What a joke
His name is kjdlittlebug. Alan G. Edmondson. Age 58 Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada. I transferred money from his business account to 2 banks with different beneficiaries. I'm not sure if it's a money laundering scam. He said he was working on an oil rig in Seattle. His company name is Bluescope Construction and he said he was Hungarian, widower, and had a daughter and 2 grandchildren in Tennessee where he supposedly also had a house.
Please will all people with complaints forward their concerns here: *******@kdfwfox4.com
If we can provide enough interest in this story, we can have this Dallas news agency make this company ANSWER for their clever little games! Please fill out an online form for the TX Attorney General: http://txoag.force.com/CPDOnlineForm. I was a paying customer who called in to cancel. I was charged a renewal fee despite cancelling. I called in to dispute with Match.com who called me a liar and told me he would not refund me. He then told me that not only will they keep my money, they will block my access to the site. Basically, they are telling me to my face they are hustling me. They wrote into my credit card they will not refund me. I called into Match.com again and found out I was charged a 2nd renewal fee! I told them this is fraud and they cannot accept money and not provide services. I was told they were still "investigating" my dispute. It's time to make this company answer for their behavior. Customer service goes a long way.
They could care less too! Same as so many other reviews here. Someone got into my account changed my information and charged things on my credit card. I have been trying to get help but you will spend hours talking to some people from India. So many fraudulent and fake profiles. Models who you know are fake with hidden profiles after they send you all these winks and alerts. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY< GO ELSEWHERE
Account crashed re logged in and was billed again new account was closed. Old account went the 6 months and was canceled. Match has been billing me for the bad account for the last two years for a closed account with no access. I finely cough it called them for the new charges posted to my account. They said so sorry but you pay the 119.94 and we will cancel the account in 6 mounts for you... Out of the country people reading a script no other numbers to contact
I discovered my match.com account was hacked when I could not log in to my account. I asked a friend who is also a match user to see if she could find my profile. She found 'my' profile: the pictures and city were the same, but the user name had been changed. It was quite disturbing to see my image on a dating website with another persons name underneath, but no idea how or why the account was hacked (or what messages were being sent from 'my' account).
I contacted match to say that my account had been hacked and that I was not able to access it. Customer care responded to say that the email address I was using to log in (my gmail address, the one I used when I set up my profile) was not the one linked with the account. They told me that my account was linked to a mail.com address, not a gmail.com address. They advised that I try to log in again using the mail.com domain.
I replied that I do not have a mail.com address. Whomever or whatever hacked the account changed the email address to an email address very similar to my own. It was only after I phoned customer care that I was able to convince them that someone had got into my account, then changed the email address. But even then, the agent had a hard time locating my account using my gmail address. I had to explain in several different ways that this was because the email address linked to the compromised account had been changed by someone (or robot?) unknown to me.
Finally, match assured me that my subscription is cancelled and the profile will be removed. After hearing others' problems with subscriptions, I will monitor my bank account to make sure no further payments are taken.
I have since discovered that others have had very similar things happen, and this is something that match has been made aware of. Yet, when I contacted them to say my account had been compromised, they acted like it was simply my mistake for trying to use the wrong email address to log in. Perhaps the customer care agents I spoke to genuinely didn't understand the situation. But it appears that match.com is aware of the security faults with its site, yet is not doing enough to introduce stronger measures to keep data secure.
My user experience w/Match was back in 2015 and it was good but I did not manage to go further than a few chat sessions. Did not meet anyone in person or anything like that but I can see it happen if you hang in there. After all, I'd give it an good but would most likely stick with Mingle2day and Tinder in da future.
They banned my account after one day of using it because they somehow gained the impression I wasn't single. Why would I be using this site if I wasn't single? Furthermore, what possibly gave them this impression after a single day of use? I'm single and yet they inexplicably banned my account because they think I'm married or something? Seriously? Avoid this service! They will ban you and steal your information for whatever nefarious use they have planned. I wouldn't trust this company, they have become beyond sketchy.
Match was charging two accounts of mine and refused to credit the account that was completely inactive. I admit I started two accounts and did not watch out that they were charging me. They charged me 250 dollars per year for 3 years when I had no access to the account. They refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor and said they had no ability to refund the account. I am a single mother and a doctor and did not have the time to follow these charges and in spite of them admitting they were double charging me, they would not refund a penny. I will find ANY other way of meeting people
Just coming to the end of a 6 month subscription, doubt they would ever publish a review done actually on their site from me... After 6 months, yielded zero dates, very little contact with anyone, but hell that is just the way it is I guess, once you fall over the 50 hill pretty much burnt up I guess...
As for the site, where to start, the first is the review and reject process for profiles, even though I never use profanity, abusive, obscene or unsuitable language, nor add any links phone numbers or infringe any of their 'rules', had quite a job to add a profile description.
Then of course there is the continuous advertising, buy this add on, buy this add on, then the bull$#*! with Match Affinity, it would appear even handing over money, you get a service hell bent on trying to sell you more services. End result, avoid, may well work for some, but the site is dreadful, it used to be good, used this site before it got bought out and crammed full of crap, this time round it fails to deliver on so many levels, leaves you with a sense of huge disappointment... Had way more fun for free on PoF (same owners), which whilst it also tries to up sell you all the time, it has a more relaxed attitude, if this is the future of dating, then maybe I will just get back into sailing and meeting real people, over a real beer...
Seen the commercials on TV all the time so I figured I'd see what the hype was all about. I ordered one month subscription and it was like tossing my money in the toilet and flushing it. So far in the 3 weeks I've been a paid member I got less then 20 views. It's as if the only active members are spammers and scammers. I also hate how you can't use certain pictures as your default photo. Just stupid. What am I paying for here? This site is just worthless garbage and support will NEVER email you back. Funny thing is I did a sample test to see how many views a woman would get (without photo) and I got over 100 views in less then two days yet I can't even get to 20 views in 3 weeks. This site is just messed up. Go elsewhere if you are a male.
Profile wont save - great difficulty reaching customer services. Have tried several times and event set up on different email - no difference - profile wont save
DO NOT USE THIS SITE! I went in to have my account NOT renew (cancelled my subscription) and the it renewed anyways. They refused to refund me. This site is awful. So many better sites, avoid this one at all costs!
-Very dissapointed
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
