Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

I gave Match the benefit of the doubt and actually expected they would fix what I HOPED was just a technical glitch. But I'm here to warn you, do not give this company any money! They don't care a single iota about their customers and, after a quick Google search I discovered they have a nasty habit of blocking accounts for no reason.
I created an account, tried to message someone, (not realizing you have to be subscriber) and then just kept getting error messages on and off before I was finally blocked from logging in at all.
I thought surely it's just a glitch, so I tried again with a different e-mail address. I was blocked before I'd even finished setting up my account.
I thought surely it's just because I'm not subscribed and since I couldn't log in to purchase a subscription, I set up yet another account but this time subscribed up front.
Same thing happened again. I can't log in, can't do anything. I have not violated Terms and Conditions in any way, shape or form (how would I? I can't even get my profile filled out!) and yet, I received an e-mail informing me that my original account was blocked due to a violation which Match cannot disclose due to their privacy policy and the exact same e-mail to my third, subscribed e-mail address!
I'm leaving this review on every site I can find so as few people will get taken in as possible. I'm also reporting them to the BBB... which apparently has been done before and Match said they would remedy the issues after getting a poor rating. What a pity it's been a year and nothing has changed!
Fake profiles created by the website administration. So when you join you pay much for fake profiles, you got matches that unreal, they try to attract you in all potential methods, when you pay, you are the victim.
The site was better in the beginning. It just seems full of fake profiles now. I've paid a lot to this site over time, and I only got a few decent dates from it not to mention the amount of creepers the site has seemed to attract over the years. Not my thing anymore.
Match.com... sounds like it might work... not so much. First of all you're lookin'
For a miracle. They left with Jesus. There are lots of women here, it's just that the cougars and the "would be showgirls" are over the top. Sexy pictures with the shot down their top... or up their butt... please... and then the unfortunate ones that all use the company's opening lines... or the single shot picture profiles of people that have no idea on how to appear like they want to be attractive. You have a better shot at a bar with a smiling face or a grocery store check out line. You both know what's up and if attraction is in place. Match seems like an interview... and that stinks... Let's keep it real and in the moment. Friends... Match.com is a waste of time and money. Good luck at the bar!
I am a single father and looking forward to meet a very simple and matured lady above 48. If you are serious just contact me or text me on my numbe. *******972
Before paying I received a lot of alerts.
After I've subscribed I' e received a few alert, but those profiles are fake, not active or not existing at all.
Some other like comes from the others side of the world.
Possible matches are suggested without considering the age range that I've chosen in my profile, so all the site is useless.
Match.com double billed me for 2 years and I did NOT know it. They used a different email address and when I caught the double billing and called them they refused to refund me. Besides you really do not meet anyone and all the ads you see on TV are BS. Join a club, go to church, volunteer or just go to the super market or store. Match.com is crap and a waste of money AND they do NOT stand behind their product.
Been in and out from this website for about 2 years. In over 2 years, I am still seeing the same guy profiles there.
Some of them are real, some others... I am not quite sure. Some of them never responded.
NONE of them was even looking for relationships, just to hook up. If you are looking for that as well, this is the place for you. For a monthly fee, you can at least try. Beware of old pictures, men who lie about their age, kids and pretty much everything else, men who will get upset if you don´t... well, you know, on the first date...
After I realized that 99% of them were playing games, I decided to start writing a blog about it and put them notes.
Even when none of them are really worth keeping, I am pretty sure more than one lady has been upset, sad, disappointed and even angry at some of them.
We should start a forum and share experiences. It could be loads of fun.
Nope, this is not a serious place if you are looking for the real deal.
Signed up for a 6 month membership. Used the service for 2 weeks canceled. No refund of any amount. Customer service said since I made one yes oneemail to another member there is no reimbursement.
This site is horrible. Despite the fact that it allows for the addition of preferences I was contacted by a disturbing number of people that I specifically tried to filter out. I am only 23 years old and tried to filter for people in my age range, but guys in their 40s were able to message me and the site even recommended that I reach out to much older guys as well. The only reason why I signed up for an account in the first place was because I have multiple friends who married through dating sites and wanted to see if perhaps my beliefs in regards to online dating sites were unfounded but this site confirmed all of my worst suspicions. I cancelled my account within less than 24 hours after activating it and will never ever ever use this site again.
I joined Match.com because my children encouraged me to, but since joining I've found that the website preys upon the elderly and computer illiterate by spamming their inboxes with emails of "new matches", which upon clicking lead you to accidentally select upsells that then automatically charge your linked credit card (Without re-confirming credit card number or anything). This site is nothing but scams, extremely unprofessional, with the most outdated user interface I've experienced in the 2000s. Didn't meet anyone, except a few shady women who seemed to be run by a bot. Stay away from this site.
This company treats you like crap! BE CAREFUL with all their sneaky charges. Customer service SUCKS!!!!! Its REALLY difficult to cancel your account and when you do cancel it, they keep your profile up for other people to see, but of course you can't see them. You have to call them personally, to get your profile removed. That is def a invasion of privacy, to keep my profile up after I canceled it. SO just make sure you read the fine print. I canceled my account 6 months ago and found out today, it was still running! They only gave me a partial refund, even though the error was on their end! They could see that I had not logged into my account since the day I cancel it. I demanded to speak to a supervisor but the woman told me they don't have supervisors (NO JOKE!)!
March 2018 Match.com is such a fraud. After taking time to create a profile and being specific about the type of men I was interested in meeting based on their questionnaire and my personal preferences they were still matching me up with men that were not compatible by any means. If I said It was important for me to meet a non-smoker, they would match me up with smokers. If I said I was interested in meeting men with the same religious preferences they were matching me up at high percentages with men who were either not religious or "other". If I stated that I was interested in a certain age or race you get the point. Finally, I figured I would ask for the remaining of my money back seeing that they were just matching me up with ANYBODY. I asked and they refused to do so. Before canceling my membership I received a notice from them asking if I would rate their site. I thought oh yasss, boy will I love to rate their fake site! I was honest in saying, that I would not recommend this site to anyone and I explained why. Well after that they got mad and the admin staff behind the scene which sees and controls everything you say and do instantly put a stop to anyone contacting me any further. I went from meeting 4 - 6 new men every other day, in which most were never my type but... However, after I gave them a poor online rating meeting anyone new immediately can to a halt and all conversation with new men contacting me was no more for weeks. When I approached them about it and told them I knew they were behind controlling who was able to contact me or not able to contact me, they, of course, denied it and the very next day there were 3 new men who reached out to me (yah right). Funny thing was the way these two men profile was worded you knew it was Match.com who sent me the fake conversation from members who didn't exist. They are so full of it and that's putting it very nicely. Don't waste your money it's really not worth the diasspoint.
Match will notify you like there is someone interest in you. After you answer their questions they require you to register and select a membership. When you write stuff, they change it or delete it to suit them. So I have unsubscribed too many times to count and I still get messages, Finally, I got smart and blocked them. Who needs to be notified about non-existent women
Not pleased with Match.com. After purchasing a three-month subscription I chose to not continue paying for Match. I cancelled the account online two weeks prior to the automatic payment that would have been due for my account. I was charged the following month, NOT HAPPY. Called Match.com customer service and only received a limited refund compared to the payment I was charged. Was notified on the phone with customer service that you must speak to a representative in order for the subscription cancellation to go through. It does NOT say that anywhere online! Unfortunate ending to my experience with Match.
Match.com has repeatedly modified the text I wrote for my profile and then posted it for all to see. Anything critical of the site or process will be eliminated. Comments like "I'm tired of the disillusioning promises," "I'm letting my subscription expire," or "I won't waste my time reviewing their matches anymore" will be deleted. If one queries match.com reviews on the internet, many of the sites that give them a high rating offer no opportunity to add a review, which indicates to me that they're little more than advertisements for the company. When you turn off your automatic renewal (which is turned on by default) there appears to be a sudden remarkable increase in activity for your profile - an attempt to entice you to stay. The site is also loaded with scammers, and seems to have fake profiles (with identical text). Some profiles listed as "active" show messages as "not read yet" weeks or months later. In my opinion, the site manipulates the user - terribly. Customer service is non-existent. Refunds are out of the question. When I asked to remove my data from the site, the response I got was "Please know that we do not provide the opportunity to have personal information removed from our internal database..." A terrible site, disillusioning and deceptive. Stay away from them and their affiliates (they have four other dating sites that I know of). It's a racket!
I am a first time Trier. I have been on for two months. I have been contacted by two women and after a couple of letters back and forth, one wanted me to "Buy " her time for her cell phone so she could talk to me straight away. (First RED flag.) The next one said that she was enroute to "Turkey" for a contract she has been working on. When she was supposedly at J. F. K. Airport, she sent word that her reservations were screwed up and needed three hundred dollars to fix the problem. (Not sent.)
Then she again sent word that she was in Turkey and needed another three thousand dollars to rent a sewing machine. When I refused, she stopped sending me anything and I haven't heard from her since. Then I met a third lady and so far it seems to be going good. But only time will tell the full story.
The auto-renewal feature is deceptively difficult to disable in Match. Once they have your CC, you may get charged for things you don't expect.
I think it is important to remember that people are bigger now than they were. If you truly want love and know that the outsides of people can be changed but the inside rarely is. Then this is a great place. I believe that Match customer service is great, they do try to work with people and help them find relationships. It isn't going to be for everyone. Some sign-up and realize their perfect idea of who they want isn't out there because this is real life and relationships take work. If your a grownup and you are willing to take chances then this is a great place to shop.
I was only on the site for one month and in that time I was contacted by three scammers. They put up fake profiles and when you contact them they're good at responding back with texts and emails claiming they have good professional jobs. They even call you from a local number but the give away is they have an accent. They will claim they're Italian or from Vienna and they're most likely Nigerian scammers. They will put off meeting you with job excuses and eventually they ask you for money. They are very good and it's a very sophisticated scam. Report them to Match right away so their profile can be taken down. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
