I ordered my standard size which I purchase for all of my pants and when these "custom" and supposedly superior jeans showed up I could not even get them over my hips. Again, nothing fancy here but just way off... day yourself a favour and buy pants you can try on in the store and not these garbage jeans. Really poor quality!
Easy to place the order but was disappointed with the fitting. Possibly I did not correctly take my measurements in inches. I am more comflrtable with measurements in centimeters.
Lots of style to pick from, tailor I had good attention to details, quickly saw some discrepancies on measurement, and made recommendations.
No Returns, No Refunds, No Re-dress.
I bought 3 three pieces suits for a wedding party, Groom, Bestman, Father of the Bride.
9 garments in total.
5 of those garments did not fit.
I spent £760 and was offered a credit note for £8..
It's hard to get back to redoing measurements once an item is in the "cart" and you want to take it out of the cart. Also when trying to redo a measurement from the cart I often end up deleting the order.

Fourth purchase. Always happy.
If you are a normal sized person then my review is not for you.
If you have an athletic build, or still retain some of that build but you have a gut, you need MYOJ.
My thighs are nearly as big as an average waist. Normal jeans just don't work. I HATE stretch jeans, but that is all that is remotely close off the rack.
I have MYOJ dialed in. I will say though, don't waste time with lightweight denim. I have had bad experience with tears. So now I only buy heavy weight denim. Awesome.

I didn't like having to take measurements from a pair of jeans I already own.
I was surprised the price went up $10 from the initial purchase price to the final purchase price.
The courier dropped the parcel in an outhouse but failed to leave a card to let me know he had been and where the parcel was. This caused unnecessary hassle for both myself and Makeyourownjeans until the parcel was tracked down. Couriers should be instructed to leave a card when they leave a parcel. Aside from that the experience was superb, the quality of the jeans is superb and they fit beautifully.
The webpage today wouldn't allow me access to the fabrics, I was going to have my jeans made in different denims but decided just to reorder two the same (as previous order) to be quick.
Easy to order, a few appropriate questions, timely shipping, excellent customer service, and best of all, THEY FIT!
Screwed up the measurements on my trousers then tried to make me do a video of me measuring them to prove the screw up. Sent pic proving their error but no cooperation so NO MORE OF MY BUSINESS.
I ordered a pair of black jeans and I got blue. I sent them a picture of them with a black t-shirt next to them.
They said my jeans were black and would not rectify the problem.

Nothing that you should spend your money and time for
There three main points to consider any custom manufacturing which are true for MakeYourOwnJeans too.
1. What you see is NOT what you get
2. Any small error in measurement leads to huge disappointment
3. It is always more expensive than to buy a-ready-for-use product
The fabrics itself does not look and feel as good as you can imagine; just average jeans material like that you find at Walmart. If you are not professional sewer, you'd better stop to try to measure yourself. Even though you provide them with correct measure, they can make it very different. Yes, they are ready to fix any mistake; however, it takes another few weeks, and of course, you should pay again shipping and customs fees. After a couple such 'back-and-forth' tries you simply get something like this in the picture.
If you read this review because of hesitation, your guts don't fool you. Is it worth trying? Obviously not. Just go to the closest store (or even online where you know for sure your usual size) and buy new Diesel, for example.
Previously I'd always buy off-the-rack jeans at my local big-and-tall store, but they were always a poor fit, either too long or too tight around the leg. MakeYourOwnJeans allowed me to fully customise the measurements and style and I am extremely happy with the fit and quality. No need to turn up the cuffs, and plenty of room to move. The price was cheaper than what I'd normally pay at a store, even with shipping cost (which were also pretty cheap considering I live in NZ). There was an extra charge for my plus-size measurements, but it was still perfectly reasonable. Getting plus-sized bespoke custom-made clothing locally is not cheap, so overall I was very happy with their prices. I made a mistake with one of my measurements when I submitted my purchase, but after realising my mistake the next day, I simply contacted MakeYourOwnJeans via their website with my order number, and they promptly changed it with zero fuss. All I can say is the onus is on the customer to doubly sure you've got your measurements correct if you want a good fit
Looked into "Make Your Own Jeans" after being sick and tired of wasting my money buying off the rack jeans that never seemed to fit me just right especially if you do not measurements do not fit the standard commercial size cuts. My first pair of Jeans needed to be tweaked a bit but since that initial adjustment I have purchased another 3 pairs all of which fit me like a glove. I especially recommend the Stretch Jeans if you like a body hugging fit. I plan to venture into their Custom made shirts in the near future.
Absolutely zero customer service. My jeans arrived and don't fit and there "guarantee" is worthless, all you will get is the run around. One of the worst online experiences i have ever had.
Isn't the entire point of "make your own jeans" that they make them to the measurements you send? So why, when they don't make them correctly, do they have the nerve to tell me, in these words, "we did nothing wrong". If the policy is "we only remake if we are off by more than 10 percent, for example, then say that. But don't pretend like you guarantee the jeans will be made exactly as your clients ask. My jeans were too long. Wash them, they said. Except I did wash and dry 3 times and they were still too long. Take them to a seamstress, they said. Wait. What? Didn't I just pay you to make them the length I asked for? The knee is too big. They say, if there are specific dimensions you are concerned about, you should have made a note with your order. Well, except your site says tell us your measurements and we'll make your jeans exactly that way. Never doing business with makeyourownjeans.com again.
They will send you pants that don't fit, they won't remake them, their customer service is horrible. You have to measure yourself and the pants won't fit, even though you sent them the measurements and they couldn't give two $#*!s. Stay away.
I ordered jeans per their detailed measuring instructions on their website only to have them show up skin tight, their website says "if you are not satisfied with the fit, simply let us know and we'll give you a free remake" good luck with that, they wont "remake" anything, if they don't fit, you are out $100 + bucks, end of story. Dont buy from this company, you will be sorry
Answer: They do not take returns. Even if they mess up you have to pay return shipping, and upon approval, they will fix the issue. They have certain fabrics that are fit guarantee, but it seems like you're out of luck if they are hideous or don't fit right. I just emailed pictures of the 2 inch error in the waist of a pair of jeans I ordered I don't have high hopes for any resolution, I think I am out the money. I will stick with store bought jeans from reputable stores with good return policies, Or thrift store jeans.
Answer: They don't. They state that they allow a 2% margin. What happens when its outside that? They ignore you and 'hope that you understand that'. Bad customer service, but you only find out once they get the product wrong. Use at your own peril.
