The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. While some drivers receive praise for their service, the overall sentiment indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the app's functionality and the company's handling of complaints. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and address billing transparency.

Coming home from EWR
3 different drivers cancelled after taking the fare.
This is the third time now - lyft has become very unreliable.
Back to uber!
I arrived in Miami after traveling nearly 20 hours and I ordered a Lyft. The first driver was sent and then canceled after eight minutes so then they sent a second driver who canceled after another seven minutes. A third driver was on his way and stopped somewhere coming to the terminal at Miami airport and then turned around and canceled, I was forced to take a train for two hours and did not get home till 1030 at night.
Today I ordered a Lyft to drive my daughter from Palm Beach County to Miami international airport. We scheduled it six hours in advance. We were told Alexander would be picking her up Alexander canceled 1/2 hour before his scheduled arrival they set us up with someone named Tara. She canceled after five minutes then Hector was on his way and when he got to my development he canceled as well and I ended up having to drive my daughter 90 miles to the airport and 90 miles back because the Lyft drivers are so irresponsible and the company sucks, I would never use them again
Used to ride with Uber, now choose to ride with Lyft. Drivers are friendly, helpful and very professional. Plus a lot more reasonable in price, Highly recommend!
They charged me $80 for a 'damage fee' just because the driver sent a photo of scuff marks that were there before I entered the car. I argued endlessly and customer service was beyond unhelpful. They didn't even try. It seems their policy is to allow these scams with insufficient proof and there is nothing you can do. Avoid Lyft as the drivers can do this scam whenever they want and you will not be able to stop it.
I had cancelled my accounts months ago and some how it still took my money. Which is theft that's a misdemeanor in the 3rd degree. Then I had to download a zip file just to delete my account. It kept logging me out. It's like the app has been programmed by AI to steal and screw people over. It also wouldn't let me change my primary card because the app knew that the only one that had money. I feel so friggin violated right now I don't know what to do. That almost caused a detrimental effect on our lives. I have a family and that is perverted and messed up. Bro I'll walk anywhere I used to walk through towns. You're bet off on foot
I just saw a charge on my credit card from LYFT. They have NO phone number so you have to use their automated system which does not have what you want to discuss with them so you get nowhere. No matter how many times I would go on the app I couldn't get someone. Finally, a chat person came up and said they had a membership fee now (in San Francisco), I'm in Florida. I told them I wanted to cancel the membership and they just uploaded a url address that took me nowhere... I just spent an hour I won't get back. I'm glad there are other ride share companies out there!
Never had to wait sooooo long...map is wrong 1 and the time they give me is wrong. You make $400 a month off of me you should fix it.
I am a senior citizen waiting for local ACCESS yo be approved. Until then, I have to catch Lyft to get to work. I always order early, a driver pucks up. They get 3 minutes before arriving and then cancel. Not once, but it least three pick ups scheduled and three cancellations. That is unacceptable! There is no customer number to call and chat sucks! I am done with all share rides!
It's been awhile since I've logged in to my account through the app, but I have a concert coming up that my fiancé and I will need a ride there and back from. I went onto my app to make sure cards were updated for when that day came so we were prepared. It wasn't letting me update cards or request a ride. I got in touch with customer service and the FIRST email included "I'm unable to re-open your account." I responded with "why is this exactly? Am I able to delete and make a new one? I'm confused." She then states "Legally we cannot release information, but your account violates our Terms of Service." Now at this point, I'm BAFFLED. I've never once violated any Terms of Service, and I was a frequent Lyft user. So I was racking my own brain trying to figure out how in the world I EVER violated TOS. Then it dawned on me. The ONLY negative experience I've ever had with Lyft is when I took a trip to Las Vegas a few years ago- and took a Lyft from my hotel to a dispensary in Las Vegas (roughly 10 minutes away). My Lyft driver drove from Las Vegas, Nevada to California without stopping my ride, resulting in a hefty pending charge on my card. I got in contact with Lyft and it was a big process to get that resolved. So tell me how that's faulty or violating Terms of Service on my end? Regardless, I won't be using Lyft or recommending it to anyone. I'll take it a step further and de-recommend it due to the utter lack of regard for their customers and lack of communication. Again, I'm very well aware I have never once violated their Terms of Service, and the sheer fact they cannot disclose MY own information to ME, shows me this is complete b.s
They rip off drivers. I have been ripped off mutiple times. They promise you $$ and don't deliver. They switch riders. They suck!
Ordered a ride to the airport early morning hours after verification with information of the driver, received a message that the trip is canceled to rebook it again when I went in to try and rebook it again the price was triple
Do not use this company they are worst
They charged me $49.00 for a 6 mile trip. I've used Lyft often and the trip has always been less than $20.00
They are pure thieves, and need to be sued!
I canceled a ride 2 minutes after requesting because after 2 minutes the driver wasn't moving towards my direction so I decided to cancel and was forced to be charged $3.5 so I automatically went into the app to dispute the cancellation fees and they gave me a ride credit for that. Then the following morning I requested a ride and the charge was $17.43 and I get to my destination and tried to see if my ride credit was applied to my bill to find out that they said that my ride was $20 minus $3.5 so I'm still paying $17.43 they actually didn't apply that to my ride and tell me that my ride was $20 which I never seen since the beginning of the request. IT SHOULD BE $17.43 - $3.5
They regularly place two "temp auth" holds for the same ride, plus two holds for the tip on the ride. I rarely see those funds released back to me. They are literally robbing me and I have no way to resolve it.
The worse customer service. They do not seem to understand the issues and they just tell you that the problem is resolved to brush you off.
I was at the ER due to a fall. Needed a ride home, phone has low battery….
I create account, add in credit card, book ride. Easy enough, NOT! 2 drivers within a few minutes of me are assigned my ride and both cancelled! I was furious
I was charged $90 for a 15 minute ride and the driver only received $7.84 from this trip. This is outrageous. I will be calling the BBB to report Lfyt Do not use this service and do not work for this company. UBER is cheaper and pays their drivers well. I received at ride from UBER and the trip was $25 dollars and the driver received $20. I only gave this company one star because it would not let me submit this review without it.
Lyft is A Scumbag company!DONT DRIVE FOR THEM YOU ARE MAKING LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE!FACT=Lyft keeps $70 dollars for Every $100 that you make Its a Joke!Im a 5 star driver with over 5300+ Rides!I deleted my account its a waste of time!I am going to laughwhen you File for bankruptcy soon,Your All going to be out of a Job,I PINKY PROMISE LOL.Go back to the Gutter you crawled out from Loserscurrent stock price is$9.84 INVESTORS Hurry Pull your money NOW!>>GIVE THEM A 1 STAR!COPY PASTE REPEAT!
Last night my Mom called a Lyft to pick me up from school in Littleton. It was dark and raining. This person Tyler pulls up with highly tinted windows in a Tesla. I say hi are you Tyler and as soon as I get in the car he starts verbally attacking me telling me how the pickup didn't go smoothly, that I put in the wrong pin, I had no idea what he was talking about, he was incoherent and abusive. Then he drops me off at a gas station and says let the next person pick me up. I don't know if he was on serious drugs or what was wrong with him but he should not be doing this job and actually seems like an unsafe person to ride with. I've never experienced this. Lyft néeds to screen their people a lot better. I still don't know what happened, he was so off. Luckily a lovely woman named Victoria picked me up and I got home safely. Also a really nice guy named Pedro. Had dropped me off to school earlier. Don't get in a car with Tyler in a Tesla, I think something is wrong with him and he may even be dangerous, Update: I've reported him to Lyft Safety. Still had his license info and they've investigated the issue with a good outcome. Be safe out there!
I had a pickup scheduled at 1:30 A.M. at the Detroit Airport. I was waiting outside for them and at exactly 1;30, they sent me a message stating that my ride had been cancelled. No reason and no backup ride coming. So there I was at 1:30 in the morning at the airport with no ride. Never will I use them again nor recommend them.
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
