We couldn't find our dog so I was in the process of listing her on lostmydoggie.com. I had put in all the initial information including my credit card and was putting in a photo when my husband walked in with our dog. I tried to cancel the listing but was charged $35 to cover "upfront costs" although it was unclear to me what exactly that entailed, especially when I was just putting in the information. My advice to anyone with a dog is to spend a few dollars and get a tag with the dog's name, the owner's name and contact information and stay away from this website if the dog gets lost.
I found them only caring about making money. They said they called a list of neighbors. I made a flyer and gave them to 100 homes and no one received a call. They are nice but a waste of money. They said they mailed letters to the vets in my town and surroundings... I personally hired someone to go to all the vets in our town and other towns and no one received the flier. They put down the dog on the filer from 2 to 9 pounds and she is 8 pounds. They listed her as a minature schauzner and she is a toy. I suggested to them to go to yelp and look up vets in the area and send to them or fax them and they said they only mail letters. I also suggested if you really want your service to bring pets home why don't you have the computer call each day to the neighbors not just one time. Their fliers are not accurate... they did not help us at all. We put up huge posters near shopping centers and food stores and someone called 12 days later with our lost dog. I relied on their service for the first week thinking they did the work then we went on our own and put HUGE posters up over 100. Don't waste your money they don't care and quickly take your credit card and don't care about even having accurate information describing your pet.
Terrible experience - total scam - - and they break FTC rules - - calling folks on do not call list.
Most unsolicited prerecorded calls are illegal; especially for numbers on the national Do Not Call list. I received such a call, and I am on the DNC list.
Personally, I wonder what this services does that can't be accomplished by putting a proper name tag on your dog or calling animal control if you find a dog wandering around.
I get choked up everytime I think about my whole experience. If you've ever lost a pet that you love dearly, you probably understand. We have a Jack Russell Terrier that goes balistic when storms come up. On November 30,2011 we had a storm that came through - actually a tornado was reported so it was bad. Our Snoopy was in a fenced in yard and we weren't at home when it all went bad. He got out and our neighbor saw him running down the road as fast as he could go - and it was raining like crazy. By the time I got home and found out, he was long gone and we had no idea where he was. The whole family was out looking for days to no avail. We put up fliers everywhere, called vets, visited animal shelters - several times. And it was so cold outside-temps in the teens. 21 days later I ran across lostmydoggie.com when I was on the internet-to see if there was something to do that I had not thought about. To be honest-I had heard about it before but thought it was a scam-they would get my money and they would do nothing. I could not have been more wrong. Within 2 hours after I used the service I got a call from somone in a neighborhood less than a mile away-that had seen a dog fitting Snoopy's description just hanging out in their woods. It was coming back to the same spot for several days. We lured him out of the woods and it was Snoopy! He had been lost for 21 days. He was so skinny-but so happy to be found. The vets said he was a little dehydrated but otherwise healthy. They said only a JRT could survive what he did. We are so grateful to lostmydoggie.com!
Awesome service! When my friend's 2 dogs recently got loose I found this site online and signed up right away. The registration is simple and quick, which is important when your dogs are missing. The calls went out within an hour, and my friends started receiving calls from folks who had sited the dogs soon after. The dogs had been missing for 24 hours in winter weather so we were very worried. From the callers who received the phone message they were able to track the dogs and found them! They were cold and had a few minor scratches from being in the woods, but were otherwise fine. They are now safe at home with their family. The people at lostmydoggie.com communicated with us by phone and email and showed genuine concern for our situation. You never want to lose a pet, but if it does happen, I strongly recommend this site!
On Feb. 4th two of our three dogs took off our a back door that was left open by my 5 yr. Old. My entire family was devastated. We searched for hours with no luck. My sister in law's friend suggested we try lostmydoggie.com, I gave her friend all the info I thought she might need and I continued to search in my car and on foot. About an hour later I received a call on my cell phone that included my name and phone number and a description of my dogs that were missing. That phone call I got went out to 500 people within 1 mile of our home. My cell phone started ringing off the hook with complete strangers telling me they saw our dogs. It took a while but eventually we were able to pinpoint both of them. I could not believe strangers cared enough to take the time to look for my dogs and then call me. Both of my dogs are safe because of lostmydoggie.com and complete strangers. Thank you, Tammy Eblen
I found them while posting an add for my lost dog on craigslist. I called feeling hopeless and circuming to the fact my little dog was probably gone forever. I enlisted their services and within 1/2 hour of bringing them into the search, my dog was FOUND and was home! Amazing! Truly amazing! It was an expensive service but worth every penny. They did refund a partial amount for the fliers since my dog was found so quickly they didn't need to send them out. I highly recommend. They can make contacts we can not make and can do so in a fraction of the time.
I am so glad I found them... my little dog is home safe and sound.
I have to admit that when my wife found this site I thought it was a dumb idea, but i was completely wrong. Our dog went missing and we spent two days driving around putting up signs and checking with every shelter and animal control facility within 3 counties. Finally I conceeded to use this service and we were able to locate our dog within HOURS! If you lose your dog this should be the first thing that you do! I know it seems expensive, but if you are like me and my wife and view your pet as one of your kids it is worthwhile.
To paraphrase our experience, our dog got out of the house and defeated our fence on a friday afternoon and I didn't find him missing until around 5 pm when i got home. I immediately called the local police dept. and they said that they did not have him and had no reports. I then continued to check in with them over the next two days and they continued to tell me and my wife that they had not seen my dog. Finally, shortly after using this lostmydoggie.com service on Sunday out of desperation i got a call from a woman up the street that said she had found my dog, brought him into the yard and the animal control unit, same one i initially contacted, had taken into their holding facility. I then called the local PD again and after a lot of yelling they said that they did in fact have my dog and I could pick him up anytime i wanted. Had I just used this service right away i wouldn't have spent two days feeling nauseous. THEY ARE WORTH THE MONEY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET, I was skeptical too but it is a great service.
It is sad that some people who have nothing better to do write such negative things. I can attest to the fact that this site is NOT a SCAM by any means. The employees are compassionate, and will go out of their way to do everything possible to help find missing pets. I have used this service and will do so again, if need be. I have no hesitation in referring this service to others who may have a lost pet. Read the testamonials on their site and make your own decisions.
You must be a complete moron to give your money away to this scam preying on desperate people.\Call your local vet/shelter and ask about them. You will see what I mean.
The site is in violation of US Patent law. The owner Craig is a scammer who runs a lot of online businesses where he has been sued before for fraud. I hope the above comment where the guy was going to sue him follows through. People like this should be shut down. Stealing ideas from others and taking peoples money. I give them a F--
This review will be short, sweet, and honest. DO NOT WASTE YOU TIME, MONEY AND HOPE with this website.
Be careful of this fraudulent scam website. The owners have posted many fake reviews. The site is in violation of US Patent law and will be shut down shortly.
I am so thrilled with this service. When my dog got lost in a heavily wooded area, I was so scared that he would be killed by the wildlife. I contacted lostmydoggie right away. They were so helpful with suggestions of things that I could do myself, and also told me how their service works. I immediately signed up, and the calls went out within the hour. I also got some flyers from them and know that the businesses received them because I got a list from lostmydoggie and I called them. This is NOT a scam. My dog was found a few days after the calls went out by someone on the other side of the woods who had received the phone alert. They called me and he is now home safe & sound with our family. It is a GREAT service!
Our family is so grateful for this service. Our dog Travis got lost when he took off after a deer while we were on a hike. It all happened so fast and we never expected it. After a few hours of searching, someone told us about LostMyDoggie.com. They had used the service before to find their dog and they were very pleased. We put in our order that night and the calls started going out the next day. It was very professional, and it got the community involved in the search for our missing dog. After 2 days (and sleepless nights), someone who got the call spotted Travis and called us. We rushed out to the location and found him. What an incredible relief it was to be reunited with our dog! He truly is a member of our family and it meant so much to know that the team over at LostMyDoggie was helping us. We were thrilled with the service and we would highly recommend LostMyDoggie.com. This company delivers what they promise, and it is well worth every penny.
I tried lostmydoggie.com after I had previously tried another lost pet service. The other service did not work and wasn't reputable, but lostmydoggie.com was a lifesaver, or should i say dogsaver. I used both their neighbor amber alert and their shelter/vet mail service and within 3hrs of placing the phone calls, my dog was found. Their customer service is actually concerned about your lost pet as well. They called me before the alert went out to get all the information correct and then followed up after wards as well. I would recommend them and I give them an A+.
Copycat scam service, the real patent pending site is www.findtoto.com
I can't say enough good things about this website and their service. I heard about them from a neighbor who had used them with success so when I lost my precious cat, I was a nervous wreck and wanted to do everything I could to get her back. I signed up for this service and did both the neighbor amber alert and the mailing service to shelters.
Within an hour the phone calls went out and I started to get sightings right away from neighbors. This helped us pin point her location more, but the real tip came from one of the shelters they mailed, they had received the flyer they mailed and called me immediately to let me know that someone had brought her in yesterday and didn't know the owner (stupid me, didn't have her tags on, I'll never do that again). Anyways I'm happy to report she is back home safe and sound and I can thank lostmydoggie.com enough for their help, I really believe that I may have not found her without this service.
Dont waste your money lostmydoggie.com is a scam preying on desperate pet owners. My uncle is a lawyer and will be filing a law suit and possibly a class action law suit in california against the scam owner Craig Dualba.
I paid money to have flyers sent, they sent me a list of the places they sent it too. However when I called those places non of the people have received anything. The worst part is that the vets and shelters have never even heard of lostmydoggie. So they have never sent any alerts for anyone at all. When i emailed them about this problem they refuse to answer. However before they got my money they would email me back in a second. The also do not wish to refund me.
Answer: They have free services and priced packages by tier. We paid $150 for their biggest package.
Answer: The pricing tier that you choose determines how many people are contacted: the higher the price, the more people are contacted. When you sign up your missing pet, you enter in the last seen address. I believe the Amber alert starts with that general area and works it's way out.
Answer: They send you email with all the people they contact.
Answer: They posted to vets, nearby businesses and so many lost pet websites. Saved me so much time and it was quick and they created fliers. They also sent me the list to prove it, which I verified some. They also were in touch with me and sent photos when a dog matched my description. I can't say enough about them... they rock!
Answer: Company emailed & called to let me know she was possible located. Gave me the finders info, I called the person who found her and we met up!
Answer: Great because we have less neighbors nearby so the area covered is greater due to starting nearby and spreading out until they contact the number requested. Populated cities will have smaller radius for same number of amber alerts.
Answer: I paid the finder personally using their cash app once my pet was found. I'm sure other payment methods are ok. That's the one we agreed on.
Answer: I don't know the answer if it is part of PETA or not.
