I don't like this platform because whenever you fail, you have to do the whole damn thing over again. I generally dislike the platform and is just as bad as IXL. Because You have to complete 3 lessons to get a 30-second break, that's just stupid.
Despite having thousands of dollars put into it a year, they cant make a simple enjoyable platform? I've seen better animation on YouTube kids. And don't get me started on the voice acting. Every time the character models talk its like someones shoving a knife in your ear and spinning it. They made some updated lessons that improve on voice and animation immensely, but in return for that the lessons go from 20-30 minutes if your not paying much attention to lessons that can take over an hour.
Iredy makes me look stupid and its dumb i give it 0 stars i rather run 1000 miles and im a 3d greader it sucks iredy is emotional damage. I don t know to spel bacuse of iredy.
They make you take long tests that make kids feel mad about themself and they give you repeating lessons
My students are expected to complete 1/2 hour of reading and 1/2 hour of math. This takes at least an hour of instructional time away from each subject area by the time students log in and deal with any glitches. I'd like to think the expertise and skills of me, the special Ed/ESL teachers, and paras I work with are more effective than iReady, but no. We need to take teaching away for this website. Not to mention students struggle to maintain attention because it is so boring and will just wiggle their mouse to reach time.
We are expected to have a 75% pass rate, but if students make a mistake on a quiz, they can't go back to fix it and have to redo the whole lesson and quiz. You don't teach the exact same way if a student isn't understanding a concept, so why would a website expect students to do the same lesson they just failed without making any changes to instruction? Once students pass that same lesson, their passing score doesn't cancel out the failed score, bringing their average down.
Math diagnostics/ instruction doesn't give accurate data for the following students in my class:
-Students who are learning English. The language is too heavy/ doesn't show what they are capable of. I have students learning English who are at grade level for math, yet score kindergarten. That data isn't helpful for next steps.
-Students with reading disabilities, like dyslexia.
What is the purpose?
Side note: I do not hate the teacher toolbox.
Iready is just a bad site. It doesn't teach kids anything, and if you fail just ONE question then you have to redo the whole lesson. I don't recommend making your child use Iready for any reason. that is MY proof
The lessons are incredibly boring, and are much lower than my level, even though my assessment was above level. The lessons try to be interesting, but they are much less than that. The lessons are already tedious, but it takes more than a hundred 15-30 minute lessons to go from one grade to another. In conclusion, I would rather slave away in a coal mine as an eigth grade dropout than do I-Ready.
I-Ready $#*!ing sucks dude. I did my diagnostic and they put my score down by like one point and now I'm getting all these baby lessons. Waste of my damn time and I'm in 7th grade. I don't understand why I have to do this baby animation $#*! when I'm literally 13 now. I don't want to see all these ugly characters no more. That fat Bella girl is so ugly. That nerd guy in math is so annoying too. I don't need to hear your moms thought when I accidentally click the wrong answer "uhh system error." shut yo goofy $#*! white boy black $#*! 53 year old voice changer meowbahh ahh up. I hate them so much. Ban i-Ready. Waste of time. Absolute trash. It has such bad reviews why the hell is this dumb $#*! still in my district.
As a current High Schooler in 11th who has been doing I-Ready for over 7 years, I am pleased to announce to you that I-Ready is a waste of your time! I-Ready is nothing but a harassing mind-corrupting school website, and I am sure a good amount of people agree with me. I-Ready should not be done in schools and should be illegal, and I have my reasons.
I-Ready is not helpful. At all. If you have done I-Ready many times in your life, you definitely have taken both the math and reading diagnostic which is alternatively a 2-hour "test" which gives a series of harassing questions depending on the subject that you have never learned before (depending on your grade). After that, you get an overall score which determines what grade level you should be doing, and that is my problem. You see, you could be in the 5th grade, learning average 5th grade math, but according to I-Ready, you will be doing 3rd grade math, two levels lower than the grade that you're in. Do you see how inaccurate that is? You're doing work for your grade, then you do work on I-Ready that is two levels lower than your grade. It practically re-learning math/reading that you have already learned before. Do you see how un-helpful the I-Ready diagnostic is?
My other reason is also very common, but is about how much time you are doing I-Ready for. It is practically wasting 8 hours in your life on an un-helpful and stupid website. You don't even learn from half of the lessons that you are doing that are two levels lower than your grade. It is also wildly hypocritical. You see, schools and teacher advise children not to to also be on electronics and devices or staring at a screen all day because it affects your vision. But that is exactly, literally exactly what I-Ready is. But apparently, I-Ready is an exception because it is "educational" and "Helps you". But of course, schools and parents will never know that since they aren't the ones doing it.
We need more students to protest against I-Ready so their school district shall prohibit. So many children have complained that I-Ready is harassing, but they never listen. I-Ready is a shameful, embarrassing non-benefiting school website and should be illegal. Please, save the children.
I feel like your animations look a little bad. Okay a lot bad but that doesn't mean your education way is bad so please change your animations
I am a 6th grade middle school student, as of going into 6th grade the Iready app has been introduced as a new way of "learning", I personally find that I have learned essentially NOTHING from almost a year of using the app. I would not recommend this app or any parent or school system as the way its "teaches" is extremely faulty and is mostly just the same question over and over just with different variables.
I'm a 6th grade teacher and this app sucks I swear teachers only use it to give students hell there is no point of it, I really hate it as a teacher so whats the point plz ban it for my students.
They stole a character from the robots movie, and are causing my kids stress and depression.
Do not go to this website
Bruh, how THE $#*! thought it was a great idea to get rid of the pizza game. Really bruh really just why
This site is horrible. The math lessons are just straight-up cringe and intolerable, giving the teenagers names like "Sweet T". Do they really think that kids find this cool? Also, when you get a bad score on a lesson, you have to do the entire lesson over again. Why can't the student just get a different lesson teaching the same thing so they don't have to go through the same subject all over again? The Diagnostic might be the only helpful part of the site, and even that has a really stupid bit at the beginning. I can't believe that a lot of districs require an HOUR OR MORE of this each week. Well, there, that's all the reasons iReady is a piece of trash.
I used to dislike I-ready but was OK with the fact of doing it. Now, I'm obsessed with it, and I always ask my mom if I can do it. Don't judge me, I hear other opinions.
The characters are annoying, the lessons are horrible, no idea why schools actually use this horrible website, and do not recommend even taking a second look at I ready.
I can't explain how much my children hate this app. They keep skipping lessons because of how bad the lessons are. They say if they get a bad score it affects them. Their path keeps changing and this isn't for them. Please excuse spelling mistakes.
My child uses i ready at school and we never get family time because he has to do one hundred minutes. We went to Tennessee to visit his dying grandmother and he had to do all his i ready there, because school was open that day. He has learned things on there but it confuses him. His lessons are way to hard for him, so he spends hours on it.
Answer: It's designed extremely poorly. So, therefore it makes it miserable to do. It also doesn't help that the school systems don't give a shit as long as the TEST SCORES are high so they can get GOVERNMENT FUNDING.
Answer: Sweetheart, you might want to sit down for this one. It's because they want you to suffer an plethora of hours just for you hear an irrelevant explanation that you knows it's blindingly transparent and gratuitous to make pontifications.
Answer: Because its so goofy agh and boring as heck itself
Answer: I DO NOT THINK YOU ARE A DUMBASS SORRY ABOUT THAT JUST RELOAD THE WEBSITE BEFORE ITS DONE SPEAKING
Answer: No they hell well don't they just want to get their filthy hands on cold hard cash by scammingevery school in the world.
