I hate it
October 6, 2022

It gives me burnout, I'm in 6th grade, the lessons are long and boring, and they waste your time when you already know what the question is but they still explain it, its awful in my opinion, and should be kept away from kids, I used to be so much happier when I was in fifth grade, there was no i-ready, now in 6th grade I'm very annoyed, would not EVER recommend

Holy god
October 5, 2022

This site is a piece of garbage. The "lessons" don't actually teach you anything, and the AI generated voices are quite literally the most infuriating thing I have heard in my entire life. My kid hates this program, and from what I've heard from his friends all of them hate it too. I feel as though the state had no idea what they were doing when they mandated this program to be used in schools. The quality of the "animated " lessons is remarkably awful, and it is glaringly obvious that each character was created from free clip art the owners found online.
If I could rate this 0 stars, I would.

As a student
October 5, 2022

As a students, this is one of the worst learning websites ever! 99.99% of the time you will be board. You can't learn if you're board and I will NEVER suggest this to teachers, unless they want to make their class

KILL IT WITH GUNFIRE
October 5, 2022

Iready is an okay game, but overall it sucks. If you fail you have to start over, and it's just lame. It makes you restart and make you feel disappointed so don't use it.

For context, I am an 8th grader so this review may not apply to others. Personally, I find it very useless. This program is very discouraging. For example, when you fail a quiz but you now understand, you have to take the entire lesson again. The diagnostic seems to grade only what is wrong, and the characters are unnecessary after elementary. From my experience, the lessons rarely teach what appears on the quiz. While I believe this program has potential, right now it only helps struggling students.

I'm in 8th grade and my school is making us do i-ready to "catch up" on what we missed from covid. It sucks. I got on 3 questions wrong and it brought me down and I had to do the lesson again. This app makes me rage more than my brother does in videos. Someone needs to start a petition to shut it down. Literally makes me wanna kill myself, makes my mental health hit rock bottom, makes me stress on questions, and more. Even though I shouldn't I want to smash my computer so hard on the ground because of I-ready. And, it gives me headaches. I have one right now (doing a math lesson :( ) and it hurts so bad. RUN AWaY FROM THIS APP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

Screw this $#*!.
October 3, 2022

$#*! this $#*!. I'm a 7th grader and I can confidently say that this website is absoulute dog$#*!. THE INSTRUCTION TAKES LONGER TO DO THAN THE QUIZ ITSELF, and if you get 1 GODDAMN QUESTION WRONG, YOU HAVE TO START THE ENTIRE THING AGAIN! Its just boring and wastes my time. I could be doing ANYTHING ELSE, and It would be much more worth my time. I'd rate half a star if I could.

Makes me rage
October 2, 2022

I-ready literally makes me rage and it feels like my life is falling apart. The reading I-readys aren't that bad, but the math is just TOO LONG. I'm a smart kid who skipped a grade and still is in accelerated classes, but this makes me struggle and makes me forget how to do math the right way. This also makes me was to jump out the window and literally march all the way to Georgia to destroy the i-ready headquarters.

7th grade. Each time you fail a lesson, it forces you to completely restart your entire lesson. Lessons also take forever. Meaning, if you spend 30 minutes doing something you barely understand, you're going to be fully reset back to the beginning of the lesson. It's also horribly boring. The only fun thing here is these "coins" that you earn for beating lessons. The coins can be used to play games... for about a minute. Then it ends. People who get stressed out regularly, like me, will have a terrible time with this dumb "Learning app." Also, for "My Path" you should have free-will on what to pick. I absolutely hate algebra but am forced to learn it. It's the only option. To improve it, I would try adding multiple "My Path" lessons.
Oh, look! Something else absolutely terrible about this site! It doesn't help you with math. At all. I was having trouble doing a question, and it gave me a button to do it step by step. Sounds nice, right? Wrong. The first step was to do something that was near fully unrelated to the lesson, and the second step was to do the exact question I was having trouble with. THE SECOND STEP WAS TO JUST DO THE QUESTION. THE FIRST STEP DID NOT HELP AT ALL IN SOLVING IT.

TLDR: Extremely stressful, unhelpful, and basically hell itself. "Step by step" doesn't help, lessons are horribly boring, and the only good thing about it are the coins you get. Those have almost no use besides playing games for 30 seconds.

ONE STAR
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Just some fun I had with inspect element. Oh, yeah. The backgrounds are shit.
I-Ready is quite literally Satan compared to other learning sites.

Pros:
- There are 10 themes, allowing you to customize your background, however this is a minor feature.
- There are 'Learning Games' that you can play that include math, however there is only a little bit of math involved with the games.
- There are six 'reward games' that you need coins to play, coins which can be earned by doing lessons. Each game costs 50 coins to play, lessons give you 20 coins, and lessons take at least 5 times the time spent playing one game, so it's quite unbalanced.

Cons:
- The reading diagnostic, which ends at anywhere from 70 to 92%. The progress bar may go up by 0 - 30% whenever you answer a singular question.
- The videos are very low quality, so much so that it looks like a Windows Movie Maker slideshow. It probably is.
- The characters are very low quality, and they just rely on you for everything. Now, I know it should be that way, since you have to do the problems yourself to learn the topics, but it just gets so repetitive.
- I-Ready leaves out important information in their questions, leading to confusing questions that kids may find especially difficult to answer, or even make sense of.
- I-Ready repeats topics over and over again, and it gets boring fast.
- I-Ready makes each lesson have way too many questions, making it get very repetitive, and very difficult for the people who found the topic challenging.
- Each game is fun and addicting, but none of them really teach math well.

If teachers want students to have a good time when learning, then they should try out the app or at least put themselves in the students' shoes, something that they specifically teach us to do, yet also something they don't do. It just doesn't work out; the students don't like it, the parents love it because it's like free school, but the kids' opinions don't get a say in the matter.

I-ready is a bad teaching tool, as it causes stress on the students, such as me.
The diagnostics and lessons are boring and repetitive, I can commend them for trying to make it fun but it's still a brainless monotone program, just like most others. If they added some more fun in it, it might be better. Just poking a couple characters with different personalities together and calling it done doesn't work. I am in no way affiliated with this business and I came for the sole purpose of showing what's wrong with this business.
