Disgraceful
March 11, 2020

Dreadful company that I will never deal with again - appalling - avoid. Tried to buy a charging radio clock and did not understand the coupon system - customer service refuse to help even though the clock is still available - really? So I'm writing the money off and will join the majority of people on this review site that do not have a good word to say about a Living Social - a lesson to me to check reviews first - over 1000 people can't be wrong!

Mattress disaster
March 5, 2020

I recently bought a single mattress on living social which was values at 430. I paid 79 for it and when I received it I could see it was a bottom of the range cheaply made mattress. I regret shopping with them I will never use the site again.

Lavender plants
June 26, 2019

Paid for lavender plants. None arrived. Living Social have more hoops to jump through than I ever saw in Barnum and Bailey's circus. Their aim seemed to be to keep you dangling until you give up as I did.

When I clicked on "ORDER" to get the tickets, the system kicked back and said that my transaction did not go through and to call customer service. There are no phone numbers and no chat service to contact on the site. I tried to order again a couple of times and they both also kicked back. 5 minutes later I receive a confirmation order for 3 orders. All the transactions went through. I contacted customer service but they said the tickets were non refundable and there was nothing they could do, even though their system was not working properly.

I recently purchased a deal from them for a haircut... within their fine print, they sneaked in that actually blow drying the hair wasn't included. I've never seen them allow a salon to withhold that service. The voucher cost like $35 and the salon up-charges $30 for you to not walk out with wet hair. I flagged this to LivingSocial, kindly asking to exchange for a less skeezy salon four days after purchasing. 24 hours later, they said they will not allow that even though I never opened the voucher to see the code. No wonder people have stopped using LivingSocial as much - lesson learned.

WOW! I bought a couple of vouchers from LivingSocial. I used one for Shaw Academy and after the course bought a lifetime membership. I called LivingSocial to refund the second Shaw Academy voucher and they won't. You only have 3 days to request a refund so don't even bother buying no matter how good the deal sounds. All the rep from LivingSocial did was read me their hidden details. They are a SCAM. They won't even provide a credit. BTW the call center and online chat is in Columbia - so good luck getting nowhere.

No refund or credit
October 7, 2018

After purchasing a massage, I called the business and was told it was for women only. The printed voucher does NOT specify for women only. The fine print when purchasing does specify women only. So, I contacted LivingSocial and explained the problem. Not only would they not entertain a refund, but they would not issue a credit for a future purchase. Groupon on the other hand has issued me a credit for the same type of problem. My advice is to not but anything from LivingSocial. Instead go to Groupon.

LEt the buyer beware
September 30, 2018

Product is often more expensive than if bought from the provider. I purchased a voucher for parking only to learn that it was not available when I needed it. Plus the list price was about $2.00 per day cheaper than the living social site. I have occasionally saved money with the site but it is not often. If you need to exchange a voucher it is not user friendly and is very frustrrating

Bought Dinner Cruise voucher tix as a Fathers Day gift for my hubby only to my horror we show up to the event and they tell us the vouchers are invalid. Had to spend full price not to mention the embarrassment. I called my credit card and reported this fraudster immediately. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Local NYPD Community Representative, City Council etc. They picked the wrong person to scam!

Purchased goods which apparently were lost in transit. For 4 weeks now there is no 'live chat' customer advisors available on website! I wanted a refund but was fobbed off at every level whenever I managed to contact them
Followed Living Social's guidelines by contacting company direct. Then received items that I had not ordered. To make matters worse from a company I did not purchase vouchers for. This company sell the same product via Amazon. Therefore, the original price must have been 'hiked up' for promotional purposes. Emailed Living Social umpteen times and opened a case against them on Revolver website. Living Social do not vet their merchants nor do they accept responsibility for redeeming of the voucher but they do accept your money. Long, arduous task to get a refund.

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON HIM BEFORE GOING FOR FILLERS. He is on RipOff Report. LivingSocial will NOT REFUND MY MONEY. 20 units of Botox. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HE INJECTED ME WITH but it was NOT BOTOX! NO RESULTS! I am not a complainer. I have gotten Botox before. How he hasn't lost his license is unreal to me. How LivingSocial & Groupon are allowing Fraudulent Doctors is so upsetting. IT IS A TOTAL SCAM! I've made Botox purchases before on these sites and everything went fine. Totally lost my trust! Now, I have to walk away happy that I didn't opt to buy more expensive fillers and eat even more money. The good reviews have to be fake. Or what? He scams a bunch of ppl then gives real fillers to others. Doubt it!

Beware the resells
May 17, 2018

I purchased tickets to the fair where there are celebrity concerts. After I bought the tickets, they sent me an email notifying me they had updated the description to exclude the concerts. In this case they were re-branding a Groupon offer but without the Groupon customer service. Lesson learned: if they have a deal you are interested, search the web first for the source of the deal and buy direct instead of getting screwed.

Un cooperative
May 14, 2018

I attempted to reach out to Living Social due to I was unable to use a voucher for a party, but because my purchase was over a month prior Living Social was unwilling to help in at the minimum providing a credit on their website. Will not purchase from Living Social in the future will definitely stick with Groupon - Customer Service from Groupon supercedes / exceeds Living Social any day.

Exchange of Product
April 23, 2018

LivingSocial has a 3-day refund policy. Unfortunately, you can't find it anywhere on their website except deep in their Terms of Service. I will never buy from these guys again. They chose to make $60.00 vs. keeping a customer. So now all of the businesses they "represent" will not get any visibility from me and anyone in my network if I can help it!

Poor customer service
April 14, 2018

I bought a voucher for them a few years ago and was pleased, but I recently got two more vouchers from them and was unable to process them through the sellers' websites. With most companies this wouldn't be a big deal. But when I went back to LS for help, there is no link to contact the company directly. All they had was circular links through their FAQ. No direct email to a person, no phone number. Fortunately I'm only out $24, but I'll consider it a lesson learned. Sticking with Groupon from now on!

Too Slow Logistic
February 24, 2018

I would never use it again since its TOO SLOW LOGISTIC. I ordered three products and I only received ONE after two weeks. And the left TWO are on the way. Dealsgo is also a hood new place to find amazon coupon code. It recently launched a CASH BACK shopping program where you can buy a product from its FREE OFFER and then it will return your cash back via gift card after you leave an honesty comment!

Cannot wait anymore.
February 9, 2018

The phone number for the participating vendor was simply not in service. Even though Living Social knew of the change, and had been contacted by both patrons I simply cannot wait anymore.

From the business

LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
