The company's customer service approach is characterized by a mix of commendable support and significant concerns regarding billing practices. Many customers praise the helpfulness, professionalism, and genuine nature of the representatives, noting positive experiences in resolving issues quickly. 1. I was told I would be contacted prior to review; their system formatted my resume awfully, added skills I never even had on my resume, into 3 skill sections. So the review came back horribly as redundant skillsets.
2. I was told I would be contacted after review, to discuss and make changes after the review by the specific person who reviewed it, with their contact info. When I contacted to discuss my review to the GENERIC email provided with the review, I was told there would be no response as the review is complete.
3. While I appreciate some of the feedback that was given, it was on a resume I was revising all day that day, so done on an incomplete resume. Really? You couldn't just contact me?

The free portion of the site is useful... so upload, revise, download, cancel subscription. The 'free' built-in review is just as useful as the one I paid for for an additional $19.95 (on sale from that $39.80 rate I have seen). Do so in a timely manner, and that first charge is all you will see.

I just really dislike the 'false' info I was given. No personal contact was ever made, it was only ever a generic email for the inbox and a name. I got better input from people outside of this organization.

Of... the review they gave? They need to use better formatting, or spell check. Kind of hard to read.

Hi Kari B.,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. Our Resume Review service does not offer consultation prior to review. A resume expert can review your unfinished resume and provide examples and tips for how to make it ready for a hiring manager’s eyes. Or, you can finish your resume first and have the resume expert review it then. Once their done, you'll be able to see your Review in the Resumes tab when you're logged into LiveCareer. You can view it online or download it as a PDF. When it's ready, you'll receive an email.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Product team. Please contact me if you have any further issues. You can email me at [email protected].

Best regards,

Anna

Not Worth The Time
June 23, 2015

Their website makes it easy enough to use up until the payment. It would not let me continue past to the payment option and that is the only way to print your resume. It basically lets you put all the time in of making your resume perfect and then takes five hours to actually get your resume and be able to print it. So after and hour of trying to get help from the site they told me I would have to call their number to get my 2 dollar transaction through. Finally I get through to someone after being hung up on and then calling back. I give them all my bank info and tell them what plan I want, then the person says ooh sorry we are an international business and you have to call your bank and then call us back. I call my bank to approve the transaction and they say this company based out of san francisco is using banking in germany? So I approve and call the company back I'm connected through then some one hangs up on my call, I call again and a lady answers and half way through the call after I explain what happened she hangs up on me! So then I call back once more and a man puts me on hold for 10 minutes and I finally get my resume printed after this five hour process. So I guess if you have enough time it is a good tool to use but if you dont have time to waste I would say dont do it.

Hi Jo C.,

I’m very sorry that the lines were being disconnected, this may be due to some technical issues. Rest assured that this issue has been taken care of.

As an international company, LiveCareer processes payments from all over the globe through our e-commerce provider located in London UK. Some banks decline international transactions unless you contact them and let them know that you are OK with the transaction for LiveCareer.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Technical team. Please contact me if you have any further issues. Please email me at [email protected]

Live Career? Or Death to the unemployed? THIS WEBSITE IS A SCAM! THEY ARE A BLOODSUCKING SCAM trying to take advantage of the unemployed! I paid 1.95 to make a resume and then I just checked my bank account this morning and they had charged me $39.80! THERE GOES MY GROCERIES FOR THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. I'm a poor college student, so I called their customer service and a "kind hearted lady" named Vanessa told me basically that I should have read through things better when I paid for the resume. AWESOME! What happened to making the world a better place? MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOULS.

This is one of those "services" that is totally designed to rip off unassuming (usually young) people. They offer you something for $1.95 with the caveat that you cancel within a specific window of time or they will charge your credit card $39.95 for a recurring fee. If you are lucky enough to discover the fee, you will quickly find they won't refund the whole thing. They will refund just a portion. The customer service people sound like robots and don't have any authority to do anything but refund a portion of the fee. YOU DON'T NEED THIS SERVICE. USE ANY WORD PROCESSING PROGRAM AND MAKE A RESUME> DO NOT USE THIS!

You should DESPISE this company. Regardless of the quality of its product this company is SELF-FOCUSED, NOT customer focused. The values of a company speak much louder than its products. If you pay $2 for a 14-day subscription you will automatically be upgraded to $40 if you fail to read the fine print. This is a 20X charge increase! No selfless company would set their customers up this way without their administered approval. Oh, and don't even think about getting your money back! Remember, by not doing business with them and giving your money somewhere else you help bring an end to such INJUSTICE.

SCAM!
June 13, 2015

Used this site 2 weeks ago. My card was charged $39.95 for a recurring fee which I didn't authorize since I paid the $1.95 just to print my document. Tried to call multiple times to speak with a supervisor but she has apparently been in a meeting for over 3 hours now. Total rip off! Anyone have any advice on what to do?!

I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up for the "trial membership" for 14 days! I signed up for the 14 day full membership for $1.95, on the 15th day my card was charged $39.80. Please read the fine print! I attempted to cancel but it is not easy. It is a script and there are a ton of free sites that help you create resumes and are just as good!

I've been charged on my credit card for something I didn't authorise. The exchange rate is a killer as they charge a 'fee' so along with their charge they add an 'exchange rate fee' which is a small % of the other charge. All in all I've got four charges, only 1 being ok'd by me. These guys are thieves. I've tried phoning (from NZ!), emailing and using live chat - nothing! Rip Off and when people may not have that money to spare these guys should be behind bars.

I cancelled my subscription and deleted my account and was charge double the following month. When speaking with customer service they told me there was no record of me deleting my subscription just my account thus why I was still charged.
No explanation of charging double or why my bank account was still charged.

At the end I had two payments equalling $80.29 within 4 days a month after the subscription was cancelled.

I completely agree with all of the extremely poor reviews. Should have read up on this company prior to agreeing to the so called "FREE" account. They are apparently located in Great Britain, so you may also be charged a foreign transaction fee on your credit card. I was able to get half of my money back. They state on the sign up page they bill you $9.95/week every 4 weeks. I had the 14 day"FREE" subscription and was 3 days into the 2nd billable week before I noticed the charge on my credit card. I argued and adamantly complained and insisted on getting my money back. I am being refunded $19.95. Do not ever use this site. It is not worth it!

If Livecareer was a reputable site then it would;
1) pay compensation to the people who had money stolen from their bank accounts and
2) fix the tricky and obviously fradulent way people log on to use this free site.

They will not and therefore Anna B. This site is NOT bonafide.
You can spread love and best wishes and touchy feely happiness all you want.
BUT the company ripped me off and MANY others and continues with the same fradulent practise... No Change

They do not make clear of how charges are being made to your credit card. They do horrible job of communicating the correct billing information as to how to cancel the subscription. When you delete the account, they will continue to charge your credit card without informing you that subscription is still LIVE. Spoke to customer service and only thing they were able to do is refund 1 month. Horrible business practice. DO NOT SIGN UP.
