I had an issue with Nest Egg Auction and Mary Ellen Brechlin. I promptly mailed them payment for an item I won. I followed up by emailing them and asking for written provenance for the item I won, because they claimed the item was from the Estate of one of Handel Lamps top decorators and Artist. I received a reply that the item did not meet reserve and was returned to the Consignor. So, to avoid any issue with being refunded, I stopped my check. I posted feedback for Nest Egg, which LiveAuctioneers chose to not publish. I tried again, and was told by LiveAuctioneers to refrain from posting feedback. In a final attempt to post factual feedback, I was emailed by LiveAuctioneer and was informed my account was being suspended. If you plan to use LiveAuctioneer services, CAVEAT EMPTOR, you will get no help from them if you have an issue. I have been using their services since their inception and have had a few issues with Auction Houses, and appealed to them for help. They did NOTHING!
I missed out on one item because of latency, I think. The item ended up with no bidders and was passed. Two other bids were successful.
I am overall satisfied with the platform particularly for its coverage. An upgrade on photo quality would be perfect. My biggest concern is there are too many dishonest auction houses. Many of them selling fake products or trying to cheat on shipping cost. Some of them have very bad communication. They don't respond to customers' message even after payments. I hope the platform could have more leverage to manage its vendors.
Nice experience with quality of items. Shipping is the big unknown. This auction was a successful and shipping 3rd party was very good and priced right. Could use more photos and description of the condition would help alot.
Great! It was well organized to help the bidder no where the auction was what the next item was and gave appropriate amount of time to let people know when that item was going to be sold. Also, the auctioneer gave many warnings last call, etc. to let the bitters know they had the final chance if they wanted it to bed. It made it very easy for online bitters to participate in the auction. I look forward To finding items I am interested in purchasing in the future and have the confidence to know that I can bid with confidence.

All of the purchases I have made through the site have been easy and efficiently handled by the auction house. The auction house has recommended shippers who have also handled the shipments quickly and efficiently. I give LiveAuctioneers a A+ rating.
Easy to use, smooth transactions. Only regret is I didn't find it sooner, lots of great pieces I missed out on from previous years.

Fine but disappointingly too expensive. That was my sole impression; the bidding experience was acceptable.
I typically abstain from auctions as shipping and house % on items occasionally exceeds the value. However, I decided to once again dabble in the excitement. Of course, paid too much once the fees were all calculated, but the customer service was outstanding…at least for one auction house. With the current Covid situation, staff is short for processing invoices, packaging and shipping. I was pleased my item was sent quickly, personally attended to by Julie.
There are some great auction houses here, but no policing of shills. Some auction houses shill their offerings, and many shill false 5 star reviews to get a recommended rating.
No effort by Live Auction to police these or the ‘cruise ship' junk auctions, but you can usually figure out the bad ones if you dig into the reviews.
I registered my interest in the artist and forgot all about it until a painting came up. All went very well, I bid and won the item which the gallery dispatched
Love to do business with live auctioneers. Website is easy to navigate and all auction houses I deal with are extremely helpful and client oriented

Easy site to navigate and do specific searches. Really like that you can pick a specific date, house, and type of auction. Great experience with using this site.
I have used live auctioneers 30 or more times for all sorts of purchases. But let's face it; if there is ever an issue with an Auction House, their customer support is non existent. Also unlike other places (Like Ebay or Amazon) you get zero consumer protection when you purchase with Live Auctioneers. As I found out, you are not really their customer - its the Auction House that is their customers and you will realize that whenever you have an issue about misrepresentations or material omissions by Auction Houses which use Live Auctioneers as their sales portal. To be fair, Live Auctioneers is great if you are a collector, but not so great when issues arise.
