There is a woman on Listia who cheated me out of my first auction I did on there. I won an auction for a necklace and sent $3,97 for shipping. She never sent the necklace and I lost my shipping money because I waited for the necklace too long and PayPal only lets you wait so long. I checked her name on Listia and she does this a lot to people. In my world this is fraud and she is getting a lot of money cheating people out of their shipping money, I don't understand why Listia continues to let her do this to people. Why don't they ban her from selling on Listia? It was the first thing I bid on and now I am auctioning things on Listia, but I treat people with respect and don't cheat anyone.
You asked for it, so here you are, a big #$@! And one star because i can't give less. My account was banned due to "Funneling credits". I don't even know what that means and i cannot find it in the terms eighter. I've solt one product to a friend to have one single positive feedback. So now i've lost tge credits and the account. Well, keep on doing what you do, i bet your site will be down in notime ;) Bye
A friend of mine told me about this and recommend I try it out. She said it was a great site and she got a lot of neat stuff on there for free basically. So, I sign up cause I'm basically poor and at first, everything was cool, I didn't have enough credits to buy or bid on most of the things I liked but when I would bid on something I would always be outbid, which is a common thing except it would never show who kept bidding, it would have the first person who outbid me and the time stamp but that would never change even though every time I bid, I would be outbid by 10 credits, even when I would bid most of my credits, I would still somehow be outbid by 10, like it was a computer outbidding me. This happened to me numerous times and eventually, I just quite bothering with the site. No point in being on there when I apparently, keep being outbid by some invisible force.
Screw Listia! The admins are complete jerks and buyers screw sellers all of the time! I have spent over $50 on shipping items free to buyers and the buyers are ungrateful thieves who are out to steal your item and your credits. One buyer who stole my item, my credits and the money I spent on shipping has a history of scamming people out of designer purses and crying to lisita that they never got their item. Seriously, they have left over 88 negative feedbacks for sellers saying they never got their item. Listia of course sided with the scammer even though I provided proof of shipping the item and now I am out the shipping costs, the value of the item, and my credits. And one ungrateful buyer cried to Listia that an item I sold them as new in package is not new because it has a goodwill price sticker on it. Um, hello, Goodwill sells brand new items too! I'm sure Listia will give the idiot their credits back so AGAIN I will lose my item, my shipping money, and my credits. Forget that. Do not sell items on Listia unless you want to be screwed by the evil Listia admins and ungrateful buyers!
They allow minor children to do commerce to falsely inflate their enrollment numbers to sell ads, listia is run with no integrity, I do not believe they should allow "FU" bumper stickers, porn and knives to be sold to 8 years old from facebook, this site needs to be shut down and the people running it need to be arrested for fraud among other things. After I out this posting up, they suspended from their site, they stole over 118,000 of my credits. Go look up the lawsuit, where they had to pay for almost $200,000 in back pay for their employees, that tried to pay in their devalued "credits" and or called them volunteers, the people running this site are thieves from another country, they need to go the prison.
Mary B.,
I’m sorry to hear your feedback. As stated in our Terms of Service:

We appreciate your understanding and hopefully you will continue to use Listia as we appreciate our great users.

These people suspended my account for NO reason and took THOUSANDS of dollars of my credits! I had 100% feedback and never had a complaint from ANYONE. This is GRAND LARCENY. These people belong in JAIL. And don't bother telling me to contact customer support, they are the biggest frauds of all!
I have been Listia Member for 3 years, I have 5000 FB, 100% Positive
NOW for some reason, a few weeks before Christmas, Listia revokes my credits privilages. No explanation, no warning.
When I asked them why, they said credits before shipping were a Privilages and they could revoke them for any reason. I have had no negative reviews, no complaints, no holds against my account WTF listia?
I'm out. The moderators like to bully the users.
Hello Farkel R., I’m sorry that you are unhappy with the rate at which your credits transfer to you. As you know, immediate transfer of credits is a courtesy we do extend to our Trusted Sellers, but there are times even those Sellers will have credits pending. It is based on their trusted credit amount, credits being used on the items that are being bid on, and their completion rate. It's not a set amount, but the more auctions you have successfully completed, the threshold increases and credits will release quicker. And as stated, it is a courtesy for the credits to auto-transfer. I hope this clarifies things for you and we hope you will continue to use Listia as you are a valued member.
Sincerely,
Tom
Simply put... they should be sued. They close accounts everyday and never give compensation for credits lost. When you get banned on ebay or amazon they hold you're money for a little bit but you get it in the end.
"Tom" is full of crap. Maybe if one or two people had issues with listia I would see how their just idiots... but when every single review(not counting those that are paid to leave reviews) is a horrible review you start to realize that there's something wrong with the site.
I used to sell all the time and buy best buy items from the reward store and simply return the item to best buy get the gift card and sell the gift card and make my profit. I spent about 1.5 million credits in the reward store one day. At the time that was about $1500 in items. Listia never sent the items(I'm guessing they didn't want to spend the money to buy everything and send it to me) so they returned my credits and suspended me for 2 weeks. In two weeks I did the same thing... spent about 1.5 million credits on about $1500 worth of items and never received them. I was pissed and wanted to leave negative feedback for every item but was afraid that they would ban me and I would lose the 5 million credits I had built up(about $5000 worth at the time). They then banned me from buying grin the reward store. I was later banned for good about 5 months later but thankfully I had spent the bulk of my credits.
"Tom" says there's no real value to credits but we aren't yay stupid. If there was no value then why didn't they sell items in the reward store for just one credit? Why did they switch the reward store from buy it now to auction style? Why do you guys have a price you buy credits? If there is no value you should just give them to me right? You're logic is flawed.
Another issue is they have no real verification system for its users. I've had several accounts with listia. All you need to do is use a fake name get a new email address and use a friend or family members address or get a po box. I don't get new accounts to scam anyone I just need them when listia bans me over stupid crap. I normally get several hundred positive feedback and then out of nowhere I get banned.
Listia is crap but I'm able to make money off of it so I still use them :)
I have been on listia now for 2yaers almost and at first it was an awesome and addicting site but as time has passed and LISTIA has grown it now has turned to all about money, the admin never answer their"support"tickets. The admin are the only ones to win the new stuff in the rewards store because the can give themselves as many credits as they want. The admin make extra accounts, and nothing can be done about it. And now the prices have doubled ever tripled in the rewards store since admin is the only ones with credits they get all the new stuff. One admin admitted to winning a tv from best buy, I put in a support ticket and it went unanswered. I'm spending all my credits and leaving that site and spreading to the worldwideweb to NOT use this scamming site.
03/03/15--; I must say in the past 3 months Listia has worked on many of the problems that the site was having. As far as the forementioned of the admin actions. I have not seen too much change, however the moderators are Jonny on the spot taking care of a negative situation. They respond to "support tickets" in the same "chain of actions, but it does seem that they are trying to boot the scammers off the site when one is presented to them. I like that they put the reward store/staff picks back to the auction style listings, versus the get it now style, it gives us that have a life beyond listia a fighting chance to get the new stuff from the stores. I can see the the admin is striving to put listia back to the way it was 2 1/2 years ago. A fun and addicting online site to get rid of old stuff and get someone else's old stuff. I have to bump my stars up to 2 specifically at the fact that they are taking comments made on review sites into consideration. Keep striving for making this back to the wonderful site that it was when I first joined. One thing if someone comes to you and tells you that an auction is an obviously fake auction, think about it, read what the person has to say and really study the fake auction, so as the scammers will get tired of having their fake auctions deleted.
Rick K., Thank you for your feedback. We take responding to every ticket received very seriously. We handle them on a first in first serve basis, and we respond to most of them within one business day. If you ever feel you have not received an adequate response, you can always re-open or submit a new ticket. As for your perception on our Admins, our staff are forbidden (under threat of termination) to grant themselves any credits, in order to keep things fair for the community. They also abide by Listia rules and only possess on account on the site. In regards to our Rewards Store, prices are kept inline with the varying virtual economy's value of credits and real-world prices. I’m sorry that your recent sentiment of Listia has not been positive. We hope that you will continue to use our site and enjoy what the community has to offer.
Sincerely,
Tom
Listia.com website is ultimate dodger and charlatan. Its mechanism fib and fallacious auctions to bid. Their target dissimulating it is real in order to steal your stuff by instigate you selling your item gives you credits and points to bid on another stuff and items throughout the website. Then you submit it and few days ago, your items being sold and you being granted the (veneer) credits. That is it. Your items sold away for nothing. Your shoddy credits are useless even if it is one billion or so. It doesn't work by this scam website's software.
This bandit website is used to embezzle no money but diverse and variable products.
Don't be victim and oaf by this mobster and gangster such website and don't let these meretricious and flamboyant campaigns to deceive you. It is definitely scam. And all business websites are scammmmmmmmm. That is what I tell you to save your time from any obsession and thought to enroll in any minute of your life at any one of whatever any business website. Same traits and lascivious characters.
Have you noticed that listia reduced the price that they sell there credits this makes everyones stash of credits worth less and every thing on listia cost more
Hello Gregory,
As you may know, Listia is an online marketplace where you win other people's stuff using credits instead of money. It's up to the Seller to decide what they want to list their auction item for, using a Starting Bid amount. We do not have a credit-to-cash ratio as it varies from category to category, and from listing to listing. You may see the same items, but they may end up with different final bid amounts. The final bid amount can be contributed to the clarity of the listing's image, description, seller's reputation, timing, etc.
Also, you may find users bidding more for an item in the jewelry category versus the pet supply category. It really depends, so we do not have an actual credit-to-cash or cash-to-credit ratio as it is determined by the every-changing dynamic marketplace. Better listing quality contributes more attraction to potential bidders as well. Also, what you may value less on our site may be valuable to someone else. Therefore, we cannot determine or control how much an item will go for in the end.
As for private deals, we do not allow private auctions on our site and do our best to ensure that they do not happen. We work very hard to maintain a quality site and will continue to do so. I hope you will be able to continue to use and enjoy Listia.
Sincerely,
Tom
I won an auction in September, communicated w/seller, transferred $4.75 to her PayPal account for shipping. Seller acknowledged, sent tracking number, which did not work. Item never arrived, I contacted Listia who transferred the credits back to my account. My inquiries regarding the $4.75 shipping were ignored. They have a good idea but lousy customer service.
Hello Susan B.,
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that the auction you won did not end successfully. I’m glad to hear your credits were refunded, but also share in the disappointment of the shipping payment you made. As much as we’d like to help you retrieve the shipping payment, as stated in our terms:
http://www.listia.com/terms
5. Shipping and Pickups
You agree to respond to all valid requests to ship or pickup items from closed auctions in a timely manner. Failure to promptly arrange for shipping or pickup of items may result in a forfeiture of credits. You agree to work out shipping expenses with the auction winner outside of the Site. Listia is not responsible for any lost shipping expenses and cannot refund or help recover shipping expenses for any reason, including lost or stolen items, damaged items or non-shipment.
Contacting PayPal to retrieve your payment would be the best option in your situation. As a future note, when using PayPal, don't send the payment as a gift or personal payment.
I hope your next auctions has a happier ending. If you need any other assistance, please submit a support ticket and we will help you there:)
Sincerely,
Tom
I love it but offering Free Shipping to the buyer all the time is SUPER expensive to the seller. When I list my items without offering "Free Shipping" they don't do well. Wish I knew how to sell but not go in debt with the shipping cost.
Hello Theresa T.,
We’re glad to hear you love Listia! Offering free shipping all the time can add up, but once you build experience and trust from users, and your items are of good quality, users will bid on items regardless of shipping charges. You can also mix it up and offer free shipping on some and charge on others. Having a low start bid will also entice users to begin bidding and watch your item. If you have any other questions, especially if they specifically pertain to your account, you can always submit a support ticket and one of our Admins will be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
Tom

I have sell about more than 100 products and was able to collect around 100,000 credits so that I could bid on something big. First I was only unable to bid but now I am unable to login as well. My account was banned with reason "Funneling credits". I assure them that I have only 1 account and also asked them to please let me know that what they had identified and give me a chance to prove my innocence but no reply yet received. I have done lot of hard work to market my products and encouraging users to bid on my products through various blogs etc and now my account is suspended when the time has come to spend those credits. I asked them to kindly reactivate my account or tell me what I should do so that my account would be activated but no reply yet received. With the help of this site I hope I could get a reply.

Tom- the credit value is making it impossible for sellers to make any credit value at all or even spend it! IT seems the bottoming out of the value of credits is happening every couple of weeks now! 1000 credits is about 20 cents and no one in Listia admin raises the starting of 499 to make it even possible to cover an envelope postage as it used to be. Why on earth are you making the credits so value-less? You want buyers to BUY more from you but your SELLERS are the bread & butter for your company and you are chasing them away! I see the quality of items listed decreasing too, all because no one can get anything for their items!
As an experienced and avid seller ( and buyer) I am getting very distraught.
What is Listia trying to do here? Truthfully! I'd really like to hear the reasoning...
PLUS the rewards store is boring and worthless but that's a different story...
Hello Em H.,
First off, I’d like to apologize for any frustration this has caused. I will try to best explain the reason behind the credits not being released immediately
As you know, immediate transfer of credits is a courtesy that we extend to our most Trusted Sellers. In some cases, even for Trusted Sellers, credits will go into a pending state. This will occur from time to time based on your trusted credit amount, credits being used on the items you are currently bidding on, and your completion rate. You currently have a specific amount in your trusted limit of credits. When you win an auction, such as your most recent won auctions, you are using a portion of that trusted credits in your credit balance. This is why some of your recently sold auctions are pending because we don't "advance" more than the total amount of credits currently at a time.
I hope this answers your question and helps you better understand the process of how credits immediately transfer to your account.
Thank you.
Tom
This site used to be a good site with honorable people where you rarely got cheated but they've changed their policies in a way that benefits "new" users who want to scam you and since you can't leave negative feedback, they can bully and harass and then leave "neutral" feedback that leaves a permanent stain on your record. And support is a joke. They just give you canned answers and don't do anything for their loyal users that helped them grow to who they are now.
Hi Lisa,
I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you on our site. So that we can look into it, can you please give me your username (so that I can open a support ticket on your behalf and reach out to you) and a link to the auction(s) where this happened?
I'll be happy to look into this for you and help get the issue resolved. Thanks.
Tom
I already tried contacting Customer Support and submitting a BBB complaint and got no help so hopefully this will work. Someone hacked my account and used most of my credits. While I was in the process of straightening this out, my account was suspended. I had 100% positive feedback and 2 million credits that I literally cannot afford to lose as this is my only job now. Please help me get my account back.
Hi David B,
If you think some unauthorized party has accessed your account, we have sophisticated system logs that can shed light on that showing if/when exactly that happened. Since this is a private matter with the need to disclose some private info about yourself, please contact us directly via a support ticket. We'll be able to get to the bottom of it pretty easily and quickly for you. Please click on Member Support in our site's footer to continue the discussion there. Thanks!
Tom
I've been enjoying Listia since I found it! So far I've been happy with the items that were sent to me and I've also had good luck with folks buying from me! I am happy with listia it is a fun place you should join me here!
Yes you have to pay attention to what you are buying and read all discriptions of the items. I always do research on the item I'm bidding on so I don't spend more than what it's worth. Other than that Love it something to do to get great things I need.
It's a scam. If you make any credits, they'll find a BS reason to ban your account. My account got banned for listing "junk items", whichis total BS, but they won't listen to any appeals. I'll never get back my investment of TIME and MONEY that was put into that site. STAY AWAY!
Answer: Stacy L Some sellers can even display they really sent mail, they take digital photo when they send mail. They can even show out. But because listia recoginze tracking code. Even if you can even display the mail and correct address correct person, showing u had really sent mail, because no tracking code. Listia would still return all credit back to buyer.
Answer: Because listia is a joke. Complete scam..
Answer: Its just a game even the verified people you cant trust to many children on listia and grown men that act like children
Answer: Listia is an online marketplace where you win other people's stuff using credits instead of money. All users on our site act as both a Buyer and Seller. If you are bidding on items you want from our site, you are considered a Buyer. If you are giving away items on our site, you are considered a Seller :)
Answer: They don't deal in cash, unless you want to buy listia credits. That being said, you can make some bank if you have a good product by what credits you make on it. Then, you could use those credits to bid on gift cards and more pricey stuff that has actual value. I use the site for hard to find seeds, and it has been good for me. As for making money? Not so easy to see a real profit.
Answer: I hate that so much. You might want to contact the owners themselves and report it since they may not even be verified, meaning it's not even safe for the seller.
Listia is a marketplace for Free Stuff where you can give away stuff you don't need anymore and get stuff you want in return for free. It's fun, free and very easy to use.

Hi Bettie,
Sorry to hear about your first experience being a bad one. We allow you to request a refund from the seller within 60 days of the auction ending, so if you haven't done that yet, please do so by clicking the link on the auction. If the seller doesn't agree to give back your credits (thereby allowing you leave them a negative feedback about the experience), an admin will review the situation with you and help you get your credits back. That's a part of our Listia Assurance program, that protects winners from sellers who might not follow through with their promise to ship the item. We look forward to helping you as soon as you initiate the refund request and first try to work it out with the seller. Good luck.
