I've use Legal Zoom before for estate planning documents. In the past I paid attorneys hundreds of dollars an hour to create documents for business & personal situations. Its nice to have a company to turn to that I can do most of my work done in the comfort of my home. No appointments, no hours sitting & waiting for an attorney, no dealing with clueless paralegals & other office staff that really don't care or understand what I am trying to do. So far Legal Zoom has been a very successful platform for my legal needs. I get quick, easy & professional documents & complete instructions on how to execute the documents so I know that things are filed & signed properly. It is a huge time saver & so much easier than having to deal with an attorneys office. Thank you Legal Zoom staff. The only thing that i found a bit annoying was the different options marketing levels of service. I would prefer to have a menu at the beginning so we can check off what we need & be done with it. Thats the only reason you didn't get 5 stars.

I am writing to file a complaint against LegalZoom, a company that I relied on for professional business formation services.

On June 20,2023, I purchased LegalZoom's Pro Plan for $249, plus state filing fees. This package included a range of services such as a name check service, business filing service, compliance essentials, an operating agreement, a Federal Tax ID Number (EIN), etc.

However, after my business filing, I received a signed S-4 request from the IRS, putting my EIN issuance on hold. Upon contacting the IRS, I was informed that my LLC's name, which included a ".com" at the end, was not eligible to receive an EIN because the IRS does not allow any special characters or punctuation in the legal filing.

Despite my lack of expertise in business formation, which is why I chose to rely on LegalZoom, I found it alarming that such a crucial detail was not caught by their systems or legal experts.

I called requesting a refiling or amendment to my LLC's name. LegalZoom refused to assist unless I purchased additional products and services. I was informed that they had provided the package, despite the fact that the EIN - critical for tax filing, opening bank accounts, and staff building - could not be issued due to their oversight.

On June 26,2023, I initiated contact with LegalZoom on three separate occasions in an earnest attempt to rectify the situation. The duration of these calls varied; I was disconnected during one call, and the final call extended to approximately 45 minutes. On my third call, a supervisor relayed through an agent that they were short-staffed and thus, unable to take an escalated call. After I mentioned that my call was being recorded, the supervisor changed her previous response and assured me that someone would contact me the same day. However, she explicitly stated that there would be no compensation or remedy for the inconvenience and extra cost caused by their error.

Just had another corporate document failure by LegalZoom. Filed on May 24th with an expected delivery date of June 6th. Waiting until June 26th and they said it was still being processed. Had to cancel and go with a normal attorney. It's like they just don't care anymore about providing decent service. This is royally screwing up a deal that I needed a simple document filed for. Avoid them at all costs!

I really enjoyed interacting with Robert IV Martel. His tone of voice, his knowledge, his willing to help, everything was just amazing that's why I took the time to write this review. I look forward to speaking with him again for future endeavors.
