Representative sounded like she didn't want to do her job comparing with the last representative that her job by submitting a consultation with an actual attorney to help me with my situation but today with this rep sounded a bit unprofessional and needs to know how to work with actual clients like myself. I called legalshield on 02/20/2025, on or around 2:37 pm PST. I got to legalshield's Interactive Voice Response system ("IVR"). I pressed 0 and the IVR willfully and
Deliberately disconnected the call on me. It said "Please call legalShield later, good bye." This is egregious. Under no circumstance should an IVR purposely disconnect the call on a customer. The IVR is by design and is inappropriate. I then called back and the IVR transferred me to the wrong department. I spoke to Oscar in sales. He said I needed to be transfered to the membership department so l can make a payment. I asked to be transferred to membership, however, he refused. He said I have to give him my PlI and membership number in order to be transferred. I said no thank you, l'd rather authenticate in the membership department. Oscar again refused to transfer and disconnected the call on me. In addition, he interrupted me multiple times while I was speaking even when asked not to. I asked Oscar to get a supervisor and he said none were available. I was forced to call back a third time. I spoke to a female supervisor in the membership department by the name of Breanna in Oklahoma and complained about the IVR issue and Oscar disconnecting the call on me. She showed no empathy or sympathy. I then asked her to remove my existing debit card on file and she refused. She said not until l add a new card on file. I provided my new debit card and she said legalshield doesn't accept prepaid cards (yet their business is called "prepaid legal services"). This is egregious and I'm shocked at legalshield's poor customer service.
This gives legalshield a bad look. Moreover, this is not a one-time isolated event, it is a pattern and practice. I have experienced poor customer service from legalshield in the past and filed a complaint with the BBB. Legalshield responded apologizing. Stay away from legalshield.

There are others out there that are good. This company misrepresents its services. I signed up and was not able to speak with an attorney. I scheduled like I was supposed to and the attorney never showed twice.
They don't want to refund your money even if they can't provide a law firm for you. Just don't use them is the answer.

I joined LS 2 months ago…wish I hadn't… I had 2 legal problems to get legal advice and both were dismissed by the law firm they referred me to…the one legal issue the attorney said he couldn't help me but would send me information that I could represent myself…odd when he's the attorney…second legal issue no one even got back with me… I called to cancel and the rude lady kept talking very loudly over me and told me that my membership had to be looked over to be considered to be canceled and that if I canceled my credit card so they could not take any future payments out that they would sue me before the cancellation was approved…I called the main office of LS and spoke to Bobby from the resolution department which was very helpful but he knew I was "pissed" about the whole situation and was the mediator between me and the law firm they set me up with…then the law firm had a woman call me several times and she left voicemails because I was working…I then called her back the next day and left several messages which she never returned then I called a final time and the receptionist said they were referring me to another attorney which I said "I've cancelled my membership and that they never had to call me again…Waiting for my refund of 2 months now… so the moral of the story is to not get involved with such horrible and scamming businesses… please avoid the pain and anguish …again STAY AWAY!

The Legal Shield (male) attorney assigned to me would call me out-of-the-blue, late at night, completely unscheduled - at 11.45pm in one of the latest calls (as evidenced by the Google Voice call email notification). As a woman, I don't appreciate this. Meanwhile, he would routinely ignore appointments (scheduled by his admin staff) that we had during normal business hours for a call. When I complained on multiple times to the managers, they simply didn't bother to call back or respond at all. So this lawyer's inappropriate conduct therefore continued. I finally asked for another attorney, and in my first conversation with that attorney, she got very simple, basic aspects of law completely wrong - such as not even knowing the court rules on acceptable methods of service. When I pointed out that she was wrong (which she couldn't accept) and thus terminated the call, she later lied and said that I was the problem because I had "refused to take her advice" (yes, because she was wrong and I called her legal ignorance out!) and that I had yelled at her. I had actually audio-recorded the call, and it is very clear that I did not at all yell at her, i.e. She is simply lying to cover up her disastrous lack of basic legal knowledge.
I filed a complaint with Legal Shield (about the above) and they retaliated by completely ignoring my complaint and cancelling me as a client, putting me on a DNR ('do-not-reinstate') list. They refused to review my complaint and refused to talk to me about it.
Obviously, you should avoid Legal Shield, because this conduct is utterly inappropriate, utterly dishonest and unprofessional.

Though it is rare, there are some reasons a membership may be canceled per company option, whether by PPLSI or a PPLSI Provider Law Firm. This information can be found in any membership contract as well as online at: http://contracts.legalshield.com/contracts/LSESSOK.821.pdf. When a membership is canceled per company option, PPLSI notifies the member by a dated and signed letter, explaining the matter, and advising if any refund will be processed. If the Company cancels the Contract, Services will only be provided for those events reported in writing to the Provider Law Firm during the Eligibility Period. As a mission-based company dedicated to protecting and empowering people with the tools and services needed to affordably live a just and secure life, this option is not taken lightly and is only implemented when necessary.

Phone tag with their lazy phone answering team, and then you just get referred to a real attorney in your area that you have to pay for out of pocket.

I had legalshield for about 3 years. I got my will wrote up and then kept it for peace of mind. Welp, I ended up being rear-ended by a 16 year old, in a stolen vehicle, running from the cops. I was told by the LS attorney that I had zero recourse and there was nothing could recoup. I saught medical attention for whiplash. Fast forward a little bit and I start getting severe back pain. I tend to tough things out so didn't initial get it looked at. When I finally did it turns out I have severe arthritis and degenerative disc. My doc kept asking if I had an injury but I didn't make the correlation at the time. I recently talked to a real attorney about the situation and I do, in fact, have recourse but the fact that I didn't get it treated when I was initially in pain can hurt my case. The LS attorney simple didn't do his job. I do not, and will never recommend LegalShield for anything more than getting your will wrote up.

The lawyer treat you like your bothering them and they really don't put a good effort on helping you. They also don't call you back when they schedule too.

Does anyone know how long it takes,to reinstate a membership? They updated my new address& phone and payment information. However I don't have spending charge in my account history. That seems weird to me. Each time I call it states the membership has been canceled,it doesn't say pending.

I was really in need of assistance. I submitted 2 claims, one of which I was told, sorry, we can't help, and the other went on for months, it was a lot of back and forth. When contact was finally made to the defendant and they wanted to set up an appointment to have their lawyer meet with me and the Lawyer from Legal Sheild, it was directed from Legal Sheild to have them contact me directly to work it out...Huhh!? The reason I needed help was due to lack of participation and now it fell back on me and the defendant went ghost right after that, now I was back at square one, currently in a small claims battle - Very Disappointed, membership ended.

I signed up because I have a real estate dispute. I was told over the phone that Legal Shield cannot get involved because a trust is involved. Legal Shield advertises as help for estate planning and real estate. Talk about false advertising.
