I purchased this for my 2007 XL1200C. This is awesome. I get a lot of compliments on it. Regardless of compliments, I LOVE IT.

FYI: my filter went from red to black in about 2500 miles from just normal road dust/dirt. I've never had an open air cleaner and this surprised me. Even dirty, though, this still looks cool.

Arlen Ness says you can increase your HP by 20% with JUST this air cleaner. I don't believe that nonsense, but if someone told me I got an extra 10 hp from this filter and my V&H pipes, I'd believe it. I don't feel any difference at idle, but I REALLY notice it above 65mph. The first time I went to pass someone on the highway, the extra punch actually surprised me.

Like another reviewer, I had oil buildup in my stock filter. I don't have that problem with this filter assembly.

When I purchased this filter, they didn't have the correct pictures here. I was somewhat disappointed that the red filter/chrome plate arrived and was, in fact, a red filter/brushed aluminum plate. It looks GREAT, but I was disappointed that I didn't get what I expected. I don't blame LeatherUp for this, I blame Arlen Ness for this.

ALSO: the instructions on this could've been much better. They put WAY more money in packaging the product than they did getting a decent set of instructions together. Again, I blame Arlen Ness. However, my 8-yr-old son and I put it on without problems.

ALSO: Arlen Ness doesn't include use-and-care instructions with this filter. I called them to complain and the guy I talked with was great. FYI: he said DO NOT use compressed air to blow out the filter! This will RUIN the filter. Simply get the cleaner/oiler kit (K&N or Arlen Ness will be fine) for cleaning.

Extremely satisfied with the superior quality of the Bell Custom 500 Carbon Ace Cafe helmet. The size medium that I purchased, is as light as a feather and it fits the way it should. At first, it felt a little snug b/c I'm at the high end of the medium sizing chart, but after the 3rd ride, it's beginning to feel perfect. Plus, a large size would not have met the safety fit requirement for me. The only issue I discovered was with the spacing of the snaps on the shell exterior vs. the spacing of the snaps on an optional (different company) face shield. What I discovered after purchasing an Echo brand flat 5-snap face shield (from a different company) was that the two bottom/side snaps on the shield did not line up perfectly with those 2 snaps on the helmet (~1/4" off). The reason (I suspect) for this mismatch is possibly b/c Bell now uses 4 or 5 different shell sizes for best fit (thumbs up to them for that) and perhaps Echo company may not have retooled yet in order to accommodate Bell's slightly different and multiple shell sizes. It also appeared that if I chose the large size helmet, the snap alignment may have matched perfectly..ish? My solution: I installed in the L/R bottom snaps of the shield, new snaps in the correct position to match the mating two snaps on the helmet. Final bottom line: Highest, best quality, fitting helmet I've ever owned!

I have had this helmet for about three weeks now. I have ridden about 750 miles with it. I bought the clear visor for it so that I could use the visor when the sun goes down. I use sunglasses normally. The helmet comes down low enough on me that it puts a little pressure on the top of my glasses when they are on but not too bad. The neck curtain and ear flaps are very nice. We had one cool morning right after I got it and it made a great difference. I wear contacts and was worried about how well the visor would keep the wind out of my eyes. It works okay, I blink a little more but I haven't lost one yet. My head is a long oval shape and this is a little rounder, even with the XL/XXL it was a little tight from front to back. I just used my thumb to crush the foam a little at the pressure points.

The Fit and Finish are excatly what I would expect from Bell.. (GREAT!) Helmet does not make you look like Gazoo when you put it on, which for me, is the problem with alot of helmets.... Helmet design allows you to put glasses on with no pinch point and although the sun shade is very close to your face when deployed, it doesn't seem to interfere with my glasses... This helmet does seem to fit down on your head, so larger glasses may not fair so well... Overall I would say, myself and this helmet will be together for awhile, might even add a Pit Boss with Stripes to my collection....
