Used this service several times, but the last time has been frustrating. Submitted a request for a mowing date a week out. They withdrew money from my account immediately but nobody ever showed up to mow. I submitted a request for refund, and instead of a refund, they rescheduled a mowing date which I did not want. I immediately sent a request to cancel that mow and requested a refund again. A mower showed up to mow, and luckily I was able to stop him before he got very far. A third request for a refund has still gone unanswered. My advice is to avoid this company because although it usually seems to work, in the event that there is a problem you'll never get it resolved. I will never use them again. Update: LMO online replies that cancellation was never received--but cancellation requests were submitted on their website. Obviously they're either not monitoring the website, or they are having technical problems. Second Update: LMO is obviously following these reviews because they have since directed me to the Contact Us page for cancellation instructions. (which I actually did try to follow the first time before just sending them a direct message on their website). Unfortunately the cancellation instructions there are not clear and seem to lead to dead end links. Furthermore, it's frustrating that now they're obviously aware of the refund request for service not performed that they don't seem to want to honor it. In summary, their website has basic functionality and is okay when things work. However, when there are questions or problems, their website functionality is sorely lacking with unclear instructions and incredibly frustrating to use. I originally rated this company two stars because I did use them a few times successfully before this fiasco, but I am very much tempted to reduce the rating to one star because at this point they seem more interested in arguing than actually solving my problem. My next step is going to be a complaint with the online Better Business Bureau because it doesn't seem like I'm going to get a refund for this service that was not performed.

You never cancelled your order. You still haven't. And you haven't told the contractor you wanted to cancel which is probably why he showed up to mow your yard. Only reason I know you cancelled is because you put your address on here in the notes for the business.

Grass Grows!
May 2, 2016

I placed an order on a Monday for lawn mowing on Tuesday. The order was accepted for next day service. Nobody came on Tuesday but messaged me Tuesday evening that they were running behind and would come Wednesday or Thursday at the latest. No one showed either day. I messaged the contractor and was told they would be there Friday. No one came on Friday and after being exasperated I messaged the contractor and he promised to come Saturday. Saturday afternoon I messaged him again to inquire about the mowing and he said he would not mow my lawn because the grass was higher than stated in my original order. GRASS GROWS. That is what happens when you do not show up as requested. When I asked for a refund, I was charged a $10 trip fee for the contractor coming to my house and refusing to mow it.

Longer grass takes longer to mow, so contractors have to be paid to mow longer grass. If the customer refuses to pay for the longer grass they are charged a $10 trip fee.

This company is a fraud. They setup the account so they can keep $15 of your money, even if no contractor accepts the bid. There is no way to dispute, as there is no contact information for the company.

This is illegal, and I will do my best to get this company thrown out of Texas.

Customer agreed to be charged early cancellation fee. Fee is in 3 locations: TOS that all customers must agree to before ordering, the FAQs, and on the cancellation page

http://www.lawnmowingonline.com/faqs.php#Q44

24. I placed a order and quickly cancelled and was charged a $15 fee, what was the fee for?
A: Cancellation fees are very common in service industry type businesses. Doctors, dentists, hair salons, moving companies and many other businesses charge fees if a appointment is cancelled within a certain time frame of when the service is being provided. So we adopted the same polices that those businesses do. If a person schedules services and cancels within 2 business days of the order being placed LawnMowingOnline reserves the right to charge a $15 fee. The policy has worked exactly as expected, more orders are getting accepted and mowed and fewer orders are being cancelled. Avoiding this fee is simple, just do not cancel within 2 business days of scheduling service. For example, if you order May 1st for mowing on May 2nd, do not cancel on May 1st, May 2nd (1 day) or May 3rd (2 days). The order can be cancelled on May 4th (3 days since May 1st) and there will be no fee. Of course by then the order will likely be accepted by a contractor and already mowed so there would no longer be any reason to cancel.

To make sure every customer knows about the cancellation fee it is listed in 2 places. It is listed on the Terms of Service page that all customers agree to before placing an order and the cancellation fee is explained in bold text and underlined on the cancellation page that all customers must fill out to cancel an order.

Lawnmowingonline.com is fantastic. I only pay for lawn mowing, when I need it. I don't have to commit to a contract and I request the work when I need it. It's a great idea. I highly recommend it. They're prompt (one day's notice) and professional.

Easy, fast and efficient really says it all. I made a request, it was accepted within the hour and the yard was mowed by the time I got home from work on the requested day. They did a fine job. I was worried due to light drizzle that morning that it would be rescheduled, but it wasn't. I would definitely use this service again. It was only $30 including tip to mow both the front and back yard.

This online booking service has been such a relief for me. I am a hard-working business owner, and what with working and caring for my family, finding a mower service has been time-consuming and very frustrating.

I tried this service once, and it worked out very well for me. I will be using it again for my next mowing session.

5 days after my lawn was supposed to be mowed, on a job that was "accepted," I appealed to customer service through their website link for "Contact Us" and "Cancellation". I followed all directions about reaching out to the contractor twice, first. Three times, for each of the 3 times I appealed to customer service for cancellation or refund, I received confirmation (with those handy numbers for the claims) from their zen help desk that they received my claim. On the third attempt, I said that if no one from customer service reached out to explain how my request was being handled, I would appeal to Paypal to dispute the claim. I waited two more days and then messaged lawnmowingonline through Paypal.

Despite the fact that I have three "request received" notifications from *******@lawnmowingonline.zendesk.com, I received the following response "This customer never requested to cancel their order. There is a cancellation link provided in every email sent to the customer. The link is also clearly labeled by a large Cancel Order button on the Contact Us page. Contacting Paypal to cancel instead of going through the website is considered theft from LawnMowingOnline because they are attempting to have service provided without paying and cause harm to LawnMowingOnline's stellar reputation with Paypal. Because this customer attempted to steal from LawnMowingOnline and purposely damage LawnMowingOnline's reputation they have been ban from the website. Do not order again service will not be provided."

I'm the one who did not receive the services I paid for and in trying to remedy that, I was called a thief by their customer service. Who does that?

This customer never requested to cancel their order. There is a cancellation link provided in every email sent to the customer. The link is also clearly labeled by a large Cancel Order button on the Contact Us page. Contacting support IS NOT how you cancel. Because this customer attempted to steal from LawnMowingOnline and purposely damage LawnMowingOnline's reputation they have been ban from the website. Do not order again service will not be provided. The contractor has also been ban from the website. LawnMowingOnline does not tolerate contractors that take orders but do not finish them because it leads to complaints like this which reflect poorly on LawnMowingOnline resulting in all contractors suffering from lost income because one individual did not show up.

I placed an order and a contractor accepted the job; however, the contractor then messaged me to say he didn't realize he's too far from me and therefore is not able to mow the lawn. I notified support and asked for the job to be re-posted. The job was then re-posted. However, when I logged in to check on the status of the re-posted the job, it shows that the job is again accepted by the same contractor that accepted my original order and was not able to provide service. So I contacted the contractor and asked if he had accepted the job a second time and got the response that the job is cancelled. I then contacted support again to cancel the order. At that point, I was really confused about the status of the order as it went back and forth with being pending, accepted, pending, and accepted again. I need my lawn to be mowed as soon as possible so I want to place another order, but didn't want to run into the situation where my lawn is mowed twice with the unclear status of the original first order. So I disputed the first order with Paypal to ensure I do not get charged for the first order. I then placed another order to get my lawn mowed again. Unfortunately, support send me a message saying "Customer, you have been ban from our website, stop placing new orders". LawnMowingOnline stresses on the importance of having customers contact support rather than going directly to credit card companies. I contacted support twice over a period of 4 days and only received automated responses that don't address my questions. The job status on the website doesn't accurately represent the actual status of the job. As a last resort, I contacted Paypal and within 5 minutes, LawnMowingOnline support responded with banning me from the website. I wish LawnMowingOnline support lived by its own standards and actually contacted me to solve the issue rather than sending me generic automated email responses and then going straight to banning me as a customer.

Since I can't respond to Lawn M's response below, I'm writing here to respond to the response below. As I explained above, I went to Paypal as a last resort as I was unclear on the status of the original order. The order status went from accepted to cancelled then pending and lastly accepted again. I have no way of making sure the order was actually cancelled since contacting support only gives me automated email responses that doesn't address my questions. Also, I want to be clear that I have no complaint against the contractor that accepted my order on accident. He messaged me shortly after accepting the job and apologized for accepting the order without realizing he's too far from me. Of course I can't tell you how to run your business, but I want to put in my two pennies and ask that you please do not ban that contractor - I have zero complaint against him.

Customer cancelled online, then immediately went to Paypal to file a chargeback rather than wait 7 days for the cancellation and refund like it says on the cancellation page and in the confirmation email they were sent. When this happens we must remove the customer from the website because we can not have customers that behave in this manner. The contractor that did not mow has been permanently ban from LawnMowingOnline.com because when contractors take jobs and then refuse to do them it results in negative reviews like this which damages the reputation of the tens of thousands of great contractors we have trying to earn a living.

I needed to find a new lawn care service so I did an online search and came across the site. I placed an order, prepaid, and someone accepted my request for the next day a couple of hours later. The man that showed up did a great, thorough job and I am very pleased. I will be using the site/service again for my lawn care.
