The second time to try to use was a nightmare and a ripoff similar to what others have reported: I chose the date, figured the fees, paid through PayPal, and left for work. (I have a very small yard and actually only wanted the very tiny front yard mowed... but I did realize I would be paying the full yard fee... no problem) when I got home at 3 am there was a message from them saying that the "contractor" would mow for a $15 "tip"... otherwise, they would try to find someone else. Really? That would have taken my cost up to $42 for a third of a lot... The full size of which was in the middle of their smallest lot fee. I responded to get someone for the ADVERTISED COST or cancel if they couldn't provide the services for what they listed online. I had to follow up because I had no response when I woke up. They informed me that I had cancelled and that they would be keeping a $15 fee. I only said to cancel if they couldn't provide the service at the cost they advertised. Since they failed to provide the services requested at the price they posted, I should not be charged. I dealt with them in good faith, and I had thought I might reschedule at a later date after doing it myself this time. They sent rude answers, and then did not reply. They refused to refund the $15 even though I cancelled because they failed to perform the service as advertised. Now I have seen their D- BBB rating and other reviews stating they did the same to them. I actually wish we could contact each other to seek an attorney. I did save their messages and did screenshots of the ones I sent them. This is apparently a common pattern with them.
IGNORE THIS FIRST REVIEW THAT FOLLOWS... THEY GET YOU IN, THEN RIP YOU OFF... My first time to use the service that was recommended by a friend. It couldn't have been any easier. I like the being able to use PayPal or credit/debit cards. For my yard (even just having the front done), it was very reasonable. I got next day service, and it was promptly and very well completed. Pictures of the job were posted on my account, and confirmed it was done even before I arrived home. I will definitely order again when it's needed.

They charged a $15 cancellation fee when the job wasn't accepted by a contractor. They didnt charge the fee until after I requested, and paid for, another mow job. Terrible customer service. I will never use this service again. They shove their $15 fee and crappy job.
The gardening crew were very professional and I definitely will use the mowing company again when my yard needs it. Believe me my yard was a pasture and was clean and edged.

24. I placed a order and quickly cancelled and was charged a $15 fee, what was the fee for?
A: Cancellation fees are very common in service industry type businesses. Doctors, dentists, hair salons, moving companies and many other businesses charge fees if a appointment is cancelled within a certain time frame of when the service is being provided. So we adopted the same polices that those businesses do. If a person schedules services and cancels within 2 business days of the order being placed LawnMowingOnline reserves the right to charge a $15 fee. The policy has worked exactly as expected, more orders are getting accepted and mowed and fewer orders are being cancelled. Avoiding this fee is simple, just do not cancel within 2 business days of scheduling service. For example, if you order May 1st for mowing on May 2nd, do not cancel on May 1st, May 2nd (1 day) or May 3rd (2 days). The order can be cancelled on May 4th (3 days since May 1st) and there will be no fee. Of course by then the order will likely be accepted by a contractor and already mowed so there would no longer be any reason to cancel.
To make sure every customer knows about the cancellation fee it is listed in 2 places. It is listed on the Terms of Service page that all customers agree to before placing an order and the cancellation fee is explained in bold text and underlined on the cancellation page that all customers must fill out to cancel an order.
