I live in Michigan and drove all the way to Pennsylvania to purchase a puppy from Samuel and Anna Yoder in McClure Pennsylvania my puppy is so cute and healthy and energetic and just left the vets and checks out perfectly fine there are a lot of horror stories on the internet about going to pick up a puppy but it was an excellent experience and the cost was affordable I want to thank Samuel and Anna for such a wonderful dog she's fat and healthy and playful and loving I have only had her home four days and I don't regret buying this dog at all yes the website is legit I guess there are probably bad puppy mills and breeders everywhere you just have to find a good one and that I did I'm so pleased with my puppy her name is Hannah
I as a breeder have been advertising on this platform for quite some time. Always get very nice clients. Thank you Lancaster puppies for giving us an opportunity to find our pups new living homes.
Watch the dog you buy especially if it considered a miniature, looked at several so-called miniature dachshunds and they were as big as beagles, and I would swear they were crossed with beagles or corgis. These large USDA facilities are puppy mills and quantity are their goal. I bought a Cavalier from a Mennonites Puppy mill and he too I believe was mixed breed he grew up and was 40lbs, and huge. I took him back and they refuse to take him or refund my money. And these dogs were registered. So registration from puppy mills is a joke. Buyer beware, find a small breeder better service and better-quality pets.
I went on Lancaster puppy after reading that they make sure the pups are healthy and happy only to encounter a puppy mill that had nearly 200 dogs. The dogs live in kennels with constant noise, they have minimum human contact and many are stir crazy for to not getting out of the kennels to the pound they look like they may injure themselves. I reported this breeder to Lancaster puppies and they said they saw no red flags even though I gave proof of the number of dogs. The care standards through USDA are minimal and according to Lancaster puppies that is good enough, but these most definitely were not happy and healthy dogs!
Hi Stephanie, Thank you for sharing your experience. Please share with us your specific concerns at [email protected]. When you initially contact us with a report, we reply with an email asking for any additional information that you may have for the specific breeder. We care about the condition of the puppies that are advertised with us, and if we get evidence that puppies are not in good conditions, we will take steps to look into it.
I've been advertising on Lancaster puppies for about 8-9 yrs here & there, my sister too, she breeds Westies. I do Toy Poodles & Yorkies. I'm licensed & I only have nine dogs total so you can see... not everyone is a puppy mill. I've never had a problem with Lancaster, their prices have went up over the years, their site is a little outdated but I have no complaints. My only advice to them is their money comes from us dog breeders and they should probably keep that in mind. Half these reviews are bogus. This next advice is for dog breeders in reference to puppy buyers. Be careful & be weary. Be careful who you invite to your home, definitely screen them first. Avoid anybody that is overly concerned about weight. Toy breeds are supposed to be between 3-4 lbs up to 12 -14 lb. Which is a really small ratio of weight difference compared to other classes of dog breed weights. If you get a ridiculous person that is dead set on weight they're probably not going to be a good pick. There is ridiculous people out there that are constantly trying to buy three four & five pound dogs but it doesn't always work out to be that way. Next... if someone can't use the words please or thank you avoid them at all costs. They will not appreciate the work that you have done. If they seem demanding pushy, in a hurry or have 10 really off the wall questions that don't even make sense, avoid them. There are definitely "Karens" out there shopping for a puppy. Adopting a tiny dog... always be weary of how many young children are in the home & ask lots of questions like do they rent or own, whats their yard situation, work schedule & so on. I avoid having any pups at Christmas time because Christmas shoppers are the absolute worst. They're impatient, snarky rude & pushy. Remember the work that you do is a lot of work... it's 7 days a week. For one litter of pups I can have 75 phone calls, 300 emails & 100 texters. Its alot of work. Choose families that are kind to you & that will show face of how they may treat their dog. Kindness pays. There's way too many people to choose from so be picky! Bless our lil babies
Mimi, Thank you for sharing this from a breeder's perspective. We understand that many of our breeders put a lot of work into raising happy, healthy pups, and then also put in countless hours dealing with customers, some of which can be rude and impatient. We strive to bring value to both our breeders and their customers on Lancaster Puppies. You may contact us at contact@lancasterpuppies with any concerns or recommendations you have for us!
Adopt don't shop. These dogs are just money makers with breeds that are actually mutts. A doodle is nothing more than an overpriced mutt.
Hi Dogmom, Lancaster Puppies strives to bring value by connecting buyers with quality breeders on our site. If you find a breeder that is not taking proper care of their dogs or puppies, please notify us at [email protected]. Good breeders who breed responsibly are what bring us quality purebred and designer dogs that we have all come to enjoy!
Soooo. My wife and I are breeders of top notch mini GoldenDoodles. We decided to give Lancaster puppies a try. After a month of advertising 0 calls and less then 40 views of our ad. We got thousands of views on puppy finder.com and multiple calls. Lancaster puppies makes you go through a ridiculous procedure including they call you and ask you questions. Then they charge you 20 bucks per ad per puppy so if you have a litter of ten puppies get ready to spend 200 bucks for no calls. We paid 6 bucks per month on puppy finder with unlimited photos and our ad refreshed every 5 days. Lancaster puppies doesn't refresh you ad so anyone that posts after you is ahead of you! Stay away from Lancaster puppies. Don't waste your time or money!
Abram, Thank you for sharing your perspective. We have a team here ready to help you if you reach out to us. You can contact us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns that you may have. We would have liked to hear your concerns, and we may have some helpful insight that would have helped you with selling your puppies. We understand that there are other sites to advertise your puppies, but we as a company work hard to bring value to our breeders, and are here for you Monday - Friday.
I tried to advertise on this site & they turned me down lol... Laughing. I'm small breeder. 8 dogs total. In my home. For anyone shopping on this site, it's not a puppy mill. It's a classified online site. Anyone can advertise on their site if you're approved. If you're not Amish they'll ask you for identification but if you're Amish they don't ask you for any identification LOL. There are some really nice breeders on this site you can tell by their clean pups & they're very nice pics. I want to point out the filthy on this site, this is one example, but there's many. This person is allowed to advertise & look how filthy dirty their pups are. I'm a dog breeder. A dog doesn't get this filthy unless it lives in filth. I'm a dog breeder, a dog doesn't get all these hair stains unless it lives in filth. I'm not allowed to advertise on this site but this guy is gross. Let's just say the pups hadn't had a bath for 3 weeks or something, let's just say that, but but...but they didn't give their dog a bath on picture day? There are clearly some puppy mills on this site. If pups pictures are taken outside they are definitely amish. If they're not available on sundays. Definitely Amish. Look for hair stains, definitely.
Hi Robin, Thank you for sharing your perspective. We have an approval process to advertise with us since we are always working to keep scammers off of our site. It is not uncommon for us to as for identification for breeders looking to advertise with us, and yes, we also ask Amish for ID as well. If you find puppies on our site that are not properly taken care of, please report the ad, or contact us at [email protected].
Our pup was supposed to have a 1 year health coverage. A lie. And it did come from a mill. Michael Kurtz is who we bought from. Avoid!
I bought my darling theo. What I purchased was a supposed toy poodle. After taking my new puppy to the vet. He wasn't 8 weeks he was 5 my vet asked me where I purchased my puppy. It was from this site which actually was an Amish farm. The vet told me my new puppy would have health issues but of course I fell in love with him. So invested in health insurance and they tested my theo. He was not a full breed but I didn't care other than getting scammed. At abou 1.5 years old I noticed significant issue. Found out this puppy had ivdd - likely inbred. Just recently my dog woke up with the inability to walk after many many tears I had to put my dog to sleep. He was paralyzed and the disease was soo bad the neurosurgeon I took him too. Yes I planned on spending the 14k surgery suggested I not do the surgery because it was not only a 50/50 chance of addressing the issue but that it would happen again. My vet was correct he asked me if I got my puppy from an Amish farm and he told me I was signing up for health issues. I fell in love with this puppy he was my child. Only to lose him. This company needs to be shut down inbreeding their puppies scamming and charging for full breed which is not the case. The first vet appointment he had worms and all kinds of intestinal issues and did not have a micro chip like they said. I cannot emphasize enough to do NOT BUY from this site and if u ever drive up to an Amish farm RUN! Deeply broke. Hearted.
We bought two Shih Tzu puppies and my cousin bought one. Six months so far so good. My friend also bought a Boston terrier over two years ago and he is healthy and happy.
Puppy mill! DO NOT BUY! Do not give these people any money! These poor dogs deserve to love a better life than what they provide! Poor mom and dad doggies. They need shut down and treated like they treat their animals!
Trisha, Lancaster Puppies provides advertising for many small breeders looking for good homes for their puppies. At Lancaster Puppies, we do not own, breed, raise, or sell, or house puppies ourselves. We simply seek to provide a good advertising platform to connect buyers with quality breeders. We are not a puppy mill, nor do we support puppy mills in any way. If you have a concern about a breeder on our site, please let us know at [email protected]
I contacted 4 Boston terrier breeders via text about their pups. They all responded in a timely manner. No one asked for deposit. I drove 3 hrs to pick up my new pup. She's healthy and with AKC papers. Great experience.
I have tried several times to buy from Lancaster but the phone #s for sellers are always bad or go to a voicemail with a different name than the lister seller. They have a contact form but then ask me to provide the sellers email ( which is not listed). The actual # to Lancaster Puppies goes to "a voicemail that has not been set up" it just makes me wonder if this place is legit when I can never seem to get a person? How does one go about purchasing from them?
Male and female yorkie puppies for sale to a caring person only.for me info message me *******887
Wonderful puppy kinda skidish. Puppy smelled bad and needed bathed besides that she's great would consider.
My wife & I got a 11 week Husky Pup from Ruth in Ohio, and he was delivered to us 5 days ago. However, we've found some temperamental issues with him, he isn't fully vaccinated like she said he would be and not even microchipped. We would like to return him and even agreed for a no-refund because we want him to go to his original home/environment, but the breeder isn't responding to our calls.
A lady sells fake AKC puppies with health problems out of FT MEYERS and has changed her phone number, She operated under a fake cash app name to get paid and then closed her account. I received the puppy that has liver issues and I have never received the AKC paperwork. I have reached out to her and she offered me a "credit" on her next litter. I informed her that it was genetic and that would be foolish on my end. She asked for vet documents and I have provided all of them to her. She claims the dog's parents were cleared of genetic defects... that's a lie the puppy carries 2 genetic defects. She seems to be a puppy mill cuz now she has several breeds of puppies which is weird.
