Anarque, like the previous comments.
I find myself debiting 70 € per month while I activate "disable automatic renewal". But it doesn't work with the trial period.
After contact with the service, impossible to cancel the subscription, even we are told to go to hell. Do not join such thieves. It is scandalous.
I did a free month long trial and was misled on my account by an expiration date that was actually the the day after charges would occur, not noticing that it was set for a year later, after the year long subscription would end, and thought it was my trial expiration. When I was charged $70 for the first installment of the year subscription on the day I was planning to cancel the trial, I called and they wouldn't reimburse me due to the mistake, and made an "exception" by cancelling future charges for the year, but I had to do it immediately so they just ate my $70 and I didn't get the images.
Their images are sub par, but they trick you into thinking you are purchasing a monthly account then claim it's an annual account you can not get out of. The language on the sign up page is deceitful and meant to intentionally confuse purchasers.
The company doesn't allow you to cancel trial subscription and will bill you for a year once the month is up. Luckily for me I have Amex to recoup my fraud loss.
I had trouble signing up. I finished my sign-up on chat, and I was put on a yearly plan without my knowledge or consent. Now I stock is expecting that I pay them every month for something I did not agree. I think it's a scam because they're going out of business because of AI and they're trying to cheat people on the way out.
Stay away. I used a free trial. I forgot to cancel. I explained I didn't have funds to cover the ridiculous fee I was charged. I explained I forgot to cancel and was basically told too bad for you! $97 charged to me. Thank gawd they cancelled the rest of the service but on a tight budget $97 was a big hit to my small budget. Their answer was pretty cold.
Complete scam. The offer a free trial and so not communicate clearly at all about the fact you are being lured into a one year subscription to their prime (!) subscription. 700 euros down the drain, thank you very much.
This is a huge scam. If you forgot to uncheck the Auto-Renew within the first month of trail period, they deduct the entire years subscription fees every month and you simply cannot do anything about it. Below is the email I recieved when I requested to cancel since I accidently forgot to uncheck the Auto Renew button.
Like the title sais, the overall service offered is poor, images are meh, website is oldfasioned and search is, well, bad.
Had the luxury to have to deal with their 'Customer Service', which resulted in multiple emails contradicting everything they mentioned in previous mails.
My advise, skip this and never look back for them
Company told me I had until July 27th to cancel my subscription. So I went to cancel it that morning only to find out they'd already renewed it. At a cost of $100 to me.
I canceled my subscription and the last day that I was to have access to it was August 27th. I went to download my remaining 80 pictures but my internet went out, leaving me with not enough time to find and download images.
I contacted iStock chat to ask them to give me one HOUR of additional access to my photo subscription to make up for the hours that my internet was down and iStock wouldn't do it. They said the only way to get an additional HOUR of access was to buy another month's subscription for $100! I'd told iStock that they got an extra $100 out of me last month (because they'd told me I could cancel my subscription on the date that they renewed it on, which is their fault/error, not mine). Yet, they wanted ANOTHER $100 from me to access pictures that I'd already had to pay for last month but didn't even want.
The iStock worker in the chat gave me multiple phone numbers to call to speak to someone...but the phone numbers were disconnected and/or were not open. Because I had the nerve to cancel my subscription on the weekend, apparently I can get no help...
I find it ridiculous that iStock would give a customer fake phone numbers to call for 'help'. What kind of business does that?
So I emailed iStock and very clearly laid out everything that had happened. The person at iStock who responded to my email PURPOSELY misinterpreted my email and offered me a solution of buying another subscription! All I wanted was one additional HOUR of access. ONE HOUR.
The fact that I'd been given fake phone numbers by the iStock chatworker and the fact that iStock was in the wrong for giving me the wrong renewal date (which I'd explained in my email) was not even addressed/responded to.
I've now given iStock 2 chances to do the right thing and both times they decided that screwing a customer because they had the nerve to ask for an extra hour due to an unforeseen circumstance was more important than maintaining me as a long term customer.
If I could rate this a ZERO star, I would. This business is predatory.
They prey on human mistakes, charging ridiculous amounts of money to people who forgot they signed up for a "free trial" and probably can't afford it. That is literally their business model; counting on the human condition of forgetfulness. That, to me, is being a crook. You're basically just making money on peoples' mistakes and misery. For that, you should be put out of business. You're nothing but a drain on ethical business and on society as a whole. For those who spend all their efforts to run their businesses in a professional, respectful manner, you are a slap in the face.
This company is a complete scam. They lure you in with a free trial and then before you know it they charge and lock you into a 1 year annual subscription. They refuse to refund and just reference their Terms and Conditions repeatedly. It is a complete scam setup and should honestly be investigated.
Evil business, they seduce you in with a free trial period, but they will not send you notification before your free trial end and ask you to confirm your subscription. And even the subscription is monthly charged but it's a yearly plan, you cannot cancel the subscription from their dashboard unless you reached out customer support and ask them to do so. When you try to ask a refund, the agent will tell you you agreed the terms when you enter the free trial bala bala etc. The company intendedly did this in the term so they rob the customers with this trick.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE IT'S A SCAM!
If you subscribe for a free trial, after one month they will charge you € 35 even if you CANCEL the automatic renewal!
I downloaded only one photo and never logged into my account again. On the very same day I was billed, I wrote them informing them about the mistake, asking for a refund. But they won't give it to me. They willingly keep things messy and unclear in order to take and keep your money.
Check out their reviews... they're all AWFUL!

STATE LONTANI DA QUESTO SITO!
Avoid this company at all costs! They have the audacity to charge you even after a trial period, and when I reached out to rectify their mistake, they adamantly refused to refund my money. Can you believe it? I explicitly mentioned that I had no intention of using their services, but they still insisted on keeping my hard-earned cash.
This company's conduct is absolutely abhorrent!
I strongly urge you to steer clear of them!
Scammers they use unethical practices to force you to pay for a year subscription i signed up for trial and decided it's not worth the $89/yr and right at the top of the plan page there's a "tun off auto renewal" button, logically that would disable the "auto renewal at the end of the trial. I was changed $89 and fed some bs that auto renewal doesn't appl.
I asked them to refund and they instead argued and refused. There's a reason they have terrible reviews stay away
Worst service ever. Been trying to unsubscribe for 2 months and I keep getting charged monthly. As a South African, these payments have been detrimental to my financial situation. I'm going to have to cancel my credit card as that seems to be the only way out of this evil scheme
Also, hard to contact them, hard to find out how to cancel your subscription, and when you pay for an amount of images, you'll lose your credits really quickly. It's one big stockphoto scam.
Answer: If you wish to use a photo from now on you will need to pay for a monthly subscription. In that case you will be charged every month, and according to the Reviews, it may be very difficult to cancel your monthly subscription. As for the photo, my understanding is you get the right to use it for the purpose(s) it was subscribed for. For example, you can use it on Postcards or on your website. If you want to use it on say billboards and bus benches, you have to have an ongoing active subscription, or you have to buy more credits and then you can use it for 30 days for those added purposes. Answer: You can buy an annual subscrition, but read carefully. An annual subscription as of June 2024 costs $70 per month (not for a full year as the wording seems to indicate). A straight-monthly subscription is $40. If you cancel your annual subscription, or your payment method on file is not active, you'll be charged a $70 "administrative fee."
Answer: I can not help you, Istock sucks
