You do have a physical street address where you can receive mail. But you get a lot more: the ability to view and manage your mail 24/7 from anywhere with our app or on your computer. That’s what makes a digital mailbox with iPostal1 so much better than a PO Box at your local post office.

With just a click, you can forward mail and packages, request a content scan of mail received, discard/shred unwanted items, schedule a pickup if you live near your mail center. You can even deposit a check by mail.

With regards to our pricing model, we made the decision that the best way to offer the most value to the most people was by keeping the monthly fee as low as possible and charging people who use optional services a fee.

That way, the people who don’t need and don’t use these services, don’t pay for them and subsidize those who do. It does mean a few extra line items on your credit card bill, but overall it is the fairest way to price our services.

Our mailbox price, $9.99 per month at most locations, is a great value.

Since people use different services, we do charge for optional services such as scanning pages inside the envelope or mail pickup.

That is because there is time and labor involved to process these tasks. If we included them in the mailbox price, we would have had to charge more, and then people who don’t pick up their mail, for example, would subsidize the cost for those who do.

Keep in mind that you would be paying twice as much for PO Box at the post office, without the convenience of digital mailbox service.

Thanks for your review and your ideas.

When you sign up for an iPostal1 address for your business, the mail does need to go there. You can arrange for all mail to be forwarded to you on a regular schedule, say once a week, or you can create a forwarding request on demand for just the items you want forwarded. Either way, there is a postage charge, of course.

You can also pick up your mail if you live near your iPostal1 address. You can use our free app or access your personal digital mailbox from your laptop to view all your mail and create a shipping or pickup task, or discard items you don’t want. There is no charge for discarding without shredding.
