So the first few times I've ordered off instacart everything was great. Deliveries came on time, service was very good. One of the guys who brought the groceries even offered helping me and my friend carry our pack of water bottles inside. After a few times I've ordered off there I honestly do not know what happened. I ordered on Fred Myers and they mentioned they couldn't bring my groceries that evening and I needed it that evening. I had no food and needed groceries. The delivery wasn't scheduled till the next day when I'd be at work. They then canceled it and I ordered off albertsons. Albertsons came in a pretty good time but forgot Half my groceries I ordered no replacements or anything nothing. I ordered some Salads and microwave dinners for work and some of them didn't arrive. Was supposed to receive a refund and never showed in my bank. If you don't need to order off instacart I personally wouldn't.
I have made several orders, not one of them has been on time! One time, my order never came and they had to send out another shopper to shop for me, made it 4 hours late. I'm done.
Waited 6 hours for my order. Instacart transferred me to some guy in India. Gave me $5 whole dollars. Items finally arrived and HALF were missing. $#*! this company.
Instacart guesstimates your total and adds 15%. Not just that but with the fees, delivery (which was supposed to be $3.99) tip and god knows what else. They used my debit account and charged $175.00!
My paper receipt said the total came to $111.46. Instacart's online total was $150.36! My banking account still said -175.00. I called Instacart to complain and basically customer service said that's what it is and that it will take seven days to return the difference and still were charging the $150.36. So basically they charged me about $40.00 for delivery! I WILL NEVER, EVER USE INSTACART AGAIN! They should be investigated!
Unbelievable experience with customer service. No help, they have no clue where to check and how to help.After 10 hours wait got information about unlocked account (not clear what originally was locked), but when tried to place my order - the same thing? Shane on you, Instacart! Poor business practices!
If I could give this a one start I would. TERRIBLE COMPANY. I didn't receive one of my orders that claimed to be delivered and was supposed to be refunded. I paid with gift cards that day. It's day 13 and they are claiming the "credits" I see on my orders from that day are from them refunding me. What's funny is that I used gift cards on those orders which show up as credits. And I placed those orders before I even reached out to instacart about my non delivered order. I replaced the order assuming they had good customer service and would refund me. I've wasted 3 hours of my life and I've never dealt with a worse business. I'll go back to grocery pick up. NEVER USE INSTACART! They are a complete scam! And rude customer service!
Got hacked through their website. Email, address, phone number all changed by hacker. Found out from pending PayPal charge. After an hour with customer service all they did was reinstate account with altered hacked info. Canceled account...can't deal with children in customer service...AVOID
These people tried twice to deliver food and failed the first time. Apparently I was MIA, which makes no sense because I gave the correct address. They're supposed to leave the food at the front desk fail couldn't handle it cancel the order on me. I called customer service. They're going to do it again two hours later than the promise time again fail they can't find it. It's an incorrect address. It's total BS they take your money and they do nothing. First time using this and it will definitely be the last never again.
Instead of offering a refund a discount or anything, they just automatically scheduled another redelivery after I told him to cancel it very very, very, very annoyed

My Coupon was supposed to expire 8/13/23, I had 2 coupons, I made 1 order yesterday, I called yesterday and talked to CS yesterday, She knew about my 2 coupons and did not mentioned that the 2nd coupon will expire at midnight. I made another order today, wasted 2 hours making the order now system is saying coupon expired and CS would not help me. U should had 8/12/23 instead of 13 on expiration. It does not make sense. :( :( :( ... I am super pist and upset.
Used Instacart for about 6 months and about 1 in 3 orders had missing items (billed but not delivered). Shoppers do multiple orders at one time, and I am usually last delivery and I suspect they gave some of my order to previous delivery. In May my entire order was either delivered to wrong address or stolen by driver, and it took me 2 hours in the phone over to get another delivery the next day. I gave them another chance Aug 2nd and many items missing. In chat was told credit would be issued in 5-10 days. Never came. New chat, oh, they never processed, so it will be another 5-10 days. Then I was told I had a high issue of complaints and would not be getting a credit. They are just stealing my money. A bunch of crooks. Either they are in in it or are just hiring incompetent people. I have used Walmart grocery delivery for over a year and rarely a problem and when there is they fix it, unlike the crooks at Instacart. Beware, if your order is short, be prepared to be called a liar.
I have been using Instacart for a few years now and have never been concerned with shopping other services to compare. Recently, I realized how much the stores or Instacart marks up the items in addition to a service fee and an annual fee and a tip to the shopper. I had just chalked up the high prices to the inflation we were supposed to be experiencing. Turns out when I filled my Shipt basket at Target and my instacart basket at Target and at Shoprite with the exact same orders, Instacart was $28 higher than Shipt. There was no service fee at all with Shipt and the annual fee is the same at $99. When I think of the money I have thrown away over two years of weekly groceries with Instacart I shudder. Plus if you shop Target you can use your Red card when you shop on their site rather than shopping on the Shipt site, either way Shipt is used to deliver. If you want a free trial of Shipt sign up on their site, if you sign up on Target's site you are charged right away with no refund option. If you use the same email on your Target site and you do on Shipt, they will sink a few hours after you sign up.
I have used this service for groceries over the years and finally experienced "the last straw." At first, it was annoying issues like them not changing my email address after multiple requests, and charging the wrong payment method for my order, and a site that lags horribly, but I put up with these b/c for the sake of convenience. But then they put a "restriction" on my account b/c I requested a refund for a few damaged and spoiled groceries in my order. Not only will they NOT refund the items, but they said the "restriction" is indefinite and they have no idea when it will be removed, meaning I cannot report issues with any future orders! If the grocery store gets my order wrong or gives me spoiled food again, I have no recourse. This is a pretty shabby way to treat a loyal customer.
They mark up the price of everything. If they make an error, they refuse to refund.
Most of the shoppers pick poor quality produce and then Instacart refuses to refund for unusable merchandise.
They are true ripoff artists.
I'm done with Instacart. Being disabled I'm needing deliveries but I ordered from local Kroger and they sent shopper to another city! All items were cold except for hamburger buns which were part smashed. The lady came here with a Chinese man to deliver and they were going through things for some reason. She started raising her voice at my son who has autism. Saying she didn't like me yelling at her? No one was yelling at the lady. I simply asked on text what's taking so long to bring 9 cold items local. She said they sent her outta area. I got concerned that cold food would spoil in this 82 degrees weather. She had no right yelling at my son and I remember there was a man named Rita on a previous delivery who had no clue how to shop. Instacart is very negligent and irresponsible. No longer trust them. I paid extra for this to be delivered local and then they send a hateful lady
Was noticing pricing differences on Aldi and Aldi express. The whole idea of express is to save a little money but you jacked up the prices for express. When I first started using Instacart there was maybe 10 to 15 cent difference than shopping at the store. Now is as much as 80 cents more on most items. Then you cut your shoppers pay. What a greedy company!. If I had another choice for shopping I would drop Instacart in a heartbeat. I am a disabled senior.
Ordered from instacart. When I received my order my ribs were room temp and they smelled like they were rotten. Stunk my house up. I reached out to instacart they said they were going to refund me. Never did. I threw other products that were supposed to be frozen out. Lost about $125. I brought it back to the store in a garbage bag. They wouldn't even take it back.
Grocery delivery. Not only were items completely missing but I had items I did not even order. The response I got from them was " oh well they must have been shopping for 2 different people at the same time".
Not with it at all. Never again. Even with the price increase you would expect you are paying a premium to get the correct order. Nope. Stuff was just thrown in a carriage and I doubt they even looked at my list. Just awful. They should be shut down. Also filing complaint with our Attorney General's office.
Instacart refused to refund the 11 months of my membership because they said I had only 15 days after renewing it to cancel. This was not what I was told when I took out the membership. Beware!
I placed a GIFT Instacart order of - spaghetti meatball dinner, salad, bread, and dessert to be delivered to a friend that just got out of the hospital. When the order arrived that day, the delivery person left the food on the front step without making contact with the recipient, knowing it was a surprise gift with a gift card message attached. (There were four people in the home at the time and several cars in the driveway.) As a consequence, the food was not discovered until the next morning when they went out to retrieve their paper, therefore spoiled. I contacted Instacart right away through text and email. They did not reply. I contacted them again the following day. No reply. After a third time, I called a number designated for senior assistance, which was the only number listed on their website, then was transferred over to customer service. At that time, they told me that my window of complaint was over the time period indicated on their website; therefore, they could not help me. When I explained to the rep that I had reached out on three separate occasions without return correspondence, he became rude and wanted to end the call. Later that day, I emailed the company order appeals department explaining the circumstances and asking for the redelivery of the food order. It has been nearly a month since that email, and still no response. In short, I will never order from Instacart again. Horrible customer service. Just horrible!
Asking me to tip a delivery driver that was delivering my correct order. When I placed my original order I tipped I placed and order with Instacart today and the wrong order was delivered. I called Instacart and explained the wrong order had been delivered they told me to donate the food or throw it away so I threw it away there was nothing I could use. About 20 minutes later I received a call from Instacart telling me a delivery person would be by to pick the items up. I explained per the first conversation with the representative I was told since there was nothing I could use to throw it away or donate it, I choose to throw it away. The Instacart person told me the delivery person would still be picking it up. I gave them all the items back. I am reporting this to the Jefferson County Health Department. I had thrown the items away. There was nothing I could use from the wrong delivery. This action is against the JCHD rules. So, make sure your order is the correct temperature when you get it...
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
