I see way too many Instacart shoppers without face masks. The next time one comes to my house I'm going to refuse my groceries because if they are this careless in the stores and at my house they are careless and unprofessional in other ways.

A rip-off!
May 10, 2020

I placed an order for boneless chicken breast at $2.49/lbs at Food Bazaar. My order went up from $2.49/lbs to $5.99/lbs. They did not warn me or even cancel the order since the difference is so huge. They only cared about the quantity I ordered but not the price. The bill was supposed to be $50 but went up to $100. Since they already had my credit card details they felt free to charge me whatever they wanted. Be careful! Once you give them your credit card details you are indeed allowing them to rip you off at will.

First time user today. Asked us to substitute items, which we approved. Picked up order, substituted items missing. Store then surcharged for supplying more of another item than we requested, and charged us for a "delivery fee" for our pickup, despite representing pickup was free. Once they have your credit card, apparently this company feels it can do whatever it wants. Cancelled our membership and deleted the app. Be careful. Stay away. If this is how they bring new customers in, imagine what they'll do down the road.

Horrible
May 9, 2020

I have ordered twice and I never got my order and besides the customer service was horrible and they were unable to offer me any solution. This business should be closed because they literally steal your money. Worst experience I have ever had. I am still waiting for my refund. Be careful with them.

Instacart is literally a waste of time and a headache if You even bother with the incompetent nothings, if the Shoppers are not messing an Order up in some way You get crappy Customer Service when You try to get help with a Refund for wrong and missing Items or if You just plainly get Someone else's order and not Ur own which all the above happens a lot to the Customers just trying to get their Groceries delivered. The Trust and Safely Team is unbelievable how they just lock You out of nowhere from Your Account and ask You to verify Info on Id or License and Bank Card etc which they should not be asking for because for one its none of their Business and they need to respect Others Privacy, I am majorly against Instacart now and will do anything I can to make sure they loose as many Customers as possible and eventually get shut down because they don't deserve to have a Company that treats others like garbage off the Street. Smdh

The addition of the service fee on every order to pay your platform costs, background checks etc is absolutely ludicrous! I already pay a delivery fee AND a separate tip. I paid 15 dollars on average for this stupid service fee. I experimented and when I bought the exact same ingredients at the store i paid 67.43 less than with your stupid fees! You already increase the cost of each item from the price in store for even more profit. This should be illegal. Not a happy customer!

Worst experience I have ever had. This was my first time using them and I received a bunch of stuff wrong and some items never came and some were expired. I called and was transferred 5 times before someone could help me. After over an hour and a half on the phone they refunded some of the order and never really did anything for the expired items I ate and was not feeling well because of them.

I will never use this service again and do not recommend others use them.

Stole my money!
May 8, 2020

Incredibly, Instacart charged me over $95, associated with CA, but no store listed, for groceries I never purchased. I live in Ohio and have not traveled anywhere near California for years. Now, in the middle of this pandemic, as I am tight on funds, they're reviewing my case and will get back to me. Be warned! It may take me up to a week to see my money again! I won't use Instacart again! If you do, keep a careful eye on your bank account!

They suck!
May 7, 2020

12 Kroger bags full of groceries sitting on my front porch... Kroger couldn't help, no receipt. Told me to call instacart. They have no plan, or idea on how to fix the situation! Some family WITH KIDS are not getting their groceries. If the manager does not call me tonight, I'm taking them to a shelter.

Crazy cost
May 7, 2020

So my 2nd order from insta-cart came with many fees which I knew ahead of time and accepted.
Delivery fee $3,99
Tip $15.71
Service fee $7.86
Heavy order fee $5.09
Then my delivery person seemed to make a mistake and leave the physical reciept in the bag.
The receipt total is $131.57 (physical reciept)
Th App reciept states $157.14
That is $25.47 more than the items cost (over and above all of the other fees.

So in the end I paid $189.79 for $131.57 of groceries.

Never again. And this review will be everywhere!

My family has been shopping from instacart Wegmans because all fo the other stores have been completely bombarded online. They make major subsitutions, such as 3lbs bananas to just 3 bananas, and still charge the full price of the original orders. They don't deliver some parts of the order, and still charge for the items that were left undelivered. It took 15 minutes to find the report a problem button, and even then they didn't help us. Just in the last order, we got scammed out of $50. I haven't checked the previous ones, but I estimate that we've been duped out of hundreds of dollars. Unfortunatley, we can't stop shopping with it, given that we need food. I hope someone is able to take legal action and end this scamming. The picture below is the three bananas in the abovementioned subsitute. I'm just including it because it says that I'll have a better chance of getting published if I have a picture.

Very short sited. The Instacart is doing shady things: your bill from Instacart will be 20% more (due to mark up) and if you did not reconcile the receipt from the store to the receipt from Instacrt you may be paying for the items you did not actually get or that got replaced with something else and it was not reflected in the price. You can do all kinds of things via app including real time contacting of a person who is doing the shopping, but to contest an item on the bill you have to call and talk and look through the receipt etc. Obviously purposefully convoluted. You would think that with a 20% mark up it all should be included but no. What a scam.

HORRIBLE!
May 6, 2020

Horrible Horrible experience! We tried, we really did. Used them 5 times, hoping so much it was just the shopper (you get a different shopper) etc. Every single time, they forgot parts of orders, or got the wrong item (how is chocolate chips the same as Keebler Fudge stripes? And how is five lbs of rice the same as 16 ounces?) Charged us the wrong amounts, took multiple charges out of our account for one order (yes, we understand there is a 15 % overcharge "encase" but they charged us 100 dollars THREE TIMES on the same day) We had to go to our bank, who told us this was NOT unusual!
There is no person to talk to (no phone numbers to be found), the email responses are just canned, even if you send attachments.

This company overcharged me by $40 and also substituted cheaper and smaller size groceries but kept the money for the better brand/larger size.

When I called to complain and ask for an adjustment, I got the runaround, was placed on hold for 5-10 minutes at a time and stayed on the call for almost an hour. Finally, Tami told me she was going to "escalate" the call and that her supervisor would call me back shortly. No call back and now it's been two days. I am disputing the charge with my bank. This company is the absolute worst in every way. I told them that they were a scam and were exploiting the pandemic.

Ice cream came very soft and mushy, not kept cold, my milk was barely cold and my cream cheese was not cold at all. The shopper spent over 2 hours in the store, past the food safety limit. They said they keep the food cold but clearly they do not. I read post about this exact problem and hoped it wouldn't happen to me but it did, this was my first time. Never again! I complained and didn't even get a refund for this food I'm scared to eat.

This is my second time using instacart and I should've learned my lesson the first time. They also "forget" products and then your still charged for them... you cant submit multiple problems so of course they keep your money. Not to mention my shopper started shopping at 10am but didn't deliver them until 1:16 because of a random maintenance issue on their ap. Don't use instacart. They don't have a customer service line and they are garbage.

I placed close to a $300.00 grocery order with Instacart about a week in advance. The day came for my delivery and the app showed me that someone was shopping for and even replacing items that were "not available" in the store. I waited over an hour after my groceries should have been delivered and no one came. I contacted customer service via phone and had an automated message tell me that call volumes are too high and that I would have to submit my complaint online. It took days to get a response. I checked my bank account and noticed the charge had not come out. I finally heard back from customer service via email over a week later and they stated that they were going to credit my Instacart account for the missing order or I could let them know that I wanted to be refunded. I let them know that I wanted a refund. I checked my bank account and the charge had come out of my account conveniently around when they had emailed me about a credit or a refund. The email had stated that if I requested a refund it would be issued to my account between 5 and 10 business days. I waited 5 days and there was still no refund. So I contacted customer support and asked when I would be getting my refund. They explained that they issued me a credit and it is available in my Instacart account (even though I had clearly stated previously and promptly that I would like a refund). So I replied stating again that I wanted a refund and that is all. Someone replied and said that they could not refund me due to it being a week after the scheduled purchase. I let them know that I would be disputing it with my bank. I did not receive a reply. I contacted my bank (M&T) and explained the everything to them. She gave me a case # and let me know that they would be contacting me via USPS regarding information they may need in support of the dispute. She went on to reimburse my bank account for the missing Instacart payment. I will go out of my way to make sure M&T Bank have everything they need to follow through with this dispute. This is terrible customer service on instacart's part. I feel as though I was manipulated into what they were hoping would be surrender. I am so upset and offended that the opposite of what they wanted is taking place. I refuse to use a $300.00 credit for a company that I don't believe does good business.

I wasted my time shopping on Instacart and made the order which includes delivery and tip for the delivery. Only to find out that they cancelled most of my order and I'm now paying for 2 items that they cost less than $10 and paying almost the same amount for delivery. You can't cancel the order because that also will cost you $15. I will never order from there again. Waste of time and money.

INSTACART is simply the worst company

INSTACART is simply the worst company I've ever dealt with. The overcharged and double billed me... twice. Then they refused to do the work to fix the issue... they expect you the customer to do the leg work. I had even emailed them the receipts for them to see it was their error. They refused to even do the work of comparing the receipts... they told me I had to do that for them. Then they intentionally took weeks replying to requests for assistance... then when they finally saw that they had made the errors in billing... said I had taken too long in requesting the refund... so they wouldn't refund my credit card... they would only refund my Instacart account to put it towards my next purchase. I explained to them that the inital request was within 2 weeks of the purchase, but their customer service agents intentionally kept ignoring my email requests for help on the matter. THEY SLOW WALKED resolution to my problem ON PURPOSE to hold MY MONEY HOSTAGE to make me buy again. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THROUGH INSTACART! Also. They have no phone customer support so you are held hostage to their company policy of evading the customer and issuing refunds. This is their policy... not an accident. I sent daily email requests during those 2 weeks which they willfuly ignored. I will NEVER USE INSTACART AGAIN!
