Watch out they charge $15 if they dont make the delivery, and they dont warn you before you check out
They will put a hold on your card for delivery and fees and not refund you the difference! I had been going back and forth with them about this and they have yet to refund my money back to my account! They even put a totally different VISA card number on my receipt! I brought this to their attention but each person I spoke to had a different reason or story! I even emailed them proof of the card and amount was taken out and they still have not corrected it! One CSR even told me she doesn't see where the money was refunded at all! So where is it? I'm sure in their pockets! At first I thought Instacart was a good service and very convenient, but not any more! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM TO AN ENEMY!
L have been ordering recently weekly through instacart and l get it. They want to make money. It's a business. But more than a business is theft of money. L knew products were more expensive than in the grocery stores but a $2 mark up on milk? $4 in small packs of meat and so on. Total theft of your money.
Today I received delivery of my order. The store receipt was in the bag. It totaled $164. The total Instacart receipt totaled $225. I called their customer service line and was told that $26 of the difference was actually added in to the price of the items "by the store". I knew that was not true as it would have to be reflected on the store receipt and I told him so. I asked for a refund which was denied. I told the rep I was going to report them to the Consumer Protection Agency and report this on social media. He said "you can do what you need to do". This company is not long for this world. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
There are only so many ways I can describe my infuriating experiences with customer care. There is no phone number available to speak with anyone to uphold what I have earned. Long story short, if you are referred by a shopper and complete 30 batches in 30 days only one person (the referral) will get a bonus. The second part of the referral programs explicitly states "THE'LL MAKE …. AS WELL." I was expecting a $600 bonus but I can see how that can be a too good to be true deal. I put in the work but that's fine if Instacart wants to change what a deal means. In my understanding of the English language and policies stated in the "Terms Apply" section, I am lead to believe both the referred and referral get a bonus. Alas, two emails, 6 shopper support convos and no phone number to call later… my conclusion is Instacart are crooks. Yes I totally have screenshots of what I am talking about.
I signed up for an instacart shopper after losing my job. I filled out the appropriate forms and agreed to a background check. After a month later, and three calls to customer service, my background check has not cleared. I have never had so much as a traffic violation. Out of anger and frustration, I called to cancel my application with the promise that I would definitely let people know the experience I've had with instacart. My experience has been very negative, I have yet to shop to provide food and utilities for my children, and I have decided to go to one of the competition until I can find permanent employment. If I could give instacart a negative 10, I would. My advice is, do not have very high expectations when either shopping or purchasing from instacart.
THIS SHOULD BE A NEGATIVE RATING! I just discovered that my last order from Costco via INSTACART was marked up 22%! I was never informed of this! I called INSTACART and they were so vague and read from a script of how they determine this rate. They would not transfer my call to a supervisor. This company is corrupt... and I will NEVER use them again! They should be arrested under the RICO statute! Unless you have money to throw away... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
The Insta-cart driver hit my fence, doing almost $400 worth of damage. Insta-cart refused to compensate me because I did not have video of the incident. If you use them, make sure to record the delivery start to finish.
I have do instacart for several months. Do not waste your time. Final was yesterday when they did not give me credit for work completed. There is no email or number to contact the company, when you do the email addresses and numbers do not work.
You can get an order and drive 20 miles one way for no extra fee. It's a scam
I couldn't believe that instacart charges almost double on items that are on sale in the grocery store, I find their practices are deceitful and very expensive, For instance today I ordered boneless pork chops on sale for 1.99 lb sale prices on package was 2.21 they charged me 6.09$ when I called them they stated we don't abide by the store sales I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Buyer beware they are very dishonest. On the photo I added what price was on the package and what they charged totally insane
This company is horrible. Customer service gives automated generic responses that make no sense. They have been telling me for over 4 months they will correct my issue and not one person has any knowledge how to. After contacting them Elementry times in 4 months they always end the "chat" session with the lie they are escalating the issue. The next time I contact them they say either, They have no trace of a previous issue or that they are escalating the issue. This company sucks. Use another app
I have a problem with Instacart they took 99$ out of my hard earned money account for a authorization I did not authorize and refuse to give it back I am hearing it's on the way it's been refunded will not use again just want my money back
A five star Instacart shopper. I did not do anything wrong. Instacart cancelled my account due to a Bogous pretext that my picture don't match. They can not prove or show me what picture did not match. Also, they falsely hire then cancel accounts -beside their bad business practice. They Cut down the batch earnings and the tips after deliver the groceries. When asked customers service about it - they come up with all kind of BS excuses! They will be out of business soon as they did not do business ethically.
I called to reschedule app wouldn't show the time change. Called Agent he canceled my order I got just a text. Got charged 111.25 wasn't even in my cart or assigned a car. Called again agent reordered w/o my authorization I canceled, immediately charged again 125.00 total of 235.00 won't get a refund for 7-10 days to my bank account. Asked for a manager she said none were available on the phone. First time order never again will share story with OIG amd social media.
Worst customer service on the planet. I have reached out through chat, email and phone on 7 different occasions along with replying to the 2 "escalated" email responses I got on a 1 time basis (2 different people responding asking for the same information (evidently the 2nd person did not bother to check the account at all for history and what had already transpired and been submitted.
After 2 weeks now I am told by the 3rd person I spoke with tonight that no, there is no supervisor or manager available, technical support does not speak with customers, they are "aware of the problems" and "have looked into the problem", and the agent(s) cannot help me other than to say "have you tried the app"?
So this is what Instacart wants you to pay for, a service that has no help (bc there is the problem of both offshore agents plus technical support that cannot figure out a problem in a 2 week time period. There are no managers or supervisors, huh? What kind of business has no managers or supervisors ever available? "They are busy".
All in all, this is terrible, horrible, frustrating, maddening excuse for customer service and they should be paying us for all the time invested that they cannot even have courtesy to respond to email or find a supervisor.
I hope competitors and alternatives emerge from this vacuum of service. I, for one, am willing to pay for it rather than continue to go through this unending continuous loop of getting nowhere and not being able to place an order that does not result in substitutions that I cannot eat, substituting non-organic for organic or just any ol thing that ends up not working for me and I am not paying for those groceries, nor am I paying Instacart for this excuse of a service.
This is the third time I have used instacart and been told my order would arrive within 2 hours - today my order place at 3:30 has still not arrived. Why am I paying a service fee or even a tip when you don't stand by your commitment to deliver in a specific period of time - and this is not 30 or 45 min you are always at least 2 hours later than you state - false advertising.
I've posted 4 comments on the app store that have been removed each time. I have attached two screenshots of my reviews. In my opinion, instacart doesn't care about its customers. It doesn't correct the errors or issues that get brought to their attention, and instead just give out credit and wipe their hands of it. My partner wanted to use this service because they offer aldi, but its not worth it in my opinion. If I could, I'd give this app a -5 statement review out of 5 stars.

A $2 piece of salmon on my last order was charged to me at over $40
Employee charged me for 8 packages of fish when I ordered 2 at 15.99 for both. I asked the employee why the fish shows 71.00... she said it will go away at check out. Imstacart promised me the money back that was overcharged... waited 10 days and never got my initial refund let alone the money for the fish. I was a first time user for a week and since this... my boll was supposed to be 57.00 but it came over to 120.00 of stuff I didn't buy. Never ever ever ever using them ever again... watch them!
I'm a single mom…I work hard for my money and don't get any handouts so I don't have time to mess around with my time or my resources and this company is GOD awful. 2 completely blown orders in less than 2 weeks meaning I placed orders that were confirmed at around 3:30-4. Spoke to the person "shopping" about AND APPROVED replacements! It's 9:30 pm…I haven't received a thing. I check in the app? Oh my order is confirmed and I can add to it until someone starts shopping. (W in the actual F). Here is the kicker though - it will be delivered TODAY. This is the SECOND time this has happened in like 10 days and I just don't have time to blow extra resources only to have to go to the grocery store myself anyway BUT OH THATS RIGHT! Im A single MOTHER. I can just fly to the store at 10 PM, get what I need AND fly back all while my daughter is sleep in her bed hoping I don't get arrested or I can get my two year old up, drag her to the grocery store while it's 30 degrees out OR I can just go without right INSTACART? Thanks BUT NO THANKS.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
