I ordered groceries for my uncle who doesn't drive. They were to be delivered the Thursday before Christmas using their instacart option. It was supposed to be delivered early in the day. I got one text saying they would be an hour late. When they weren't delivered I called and was on hold for a total of two hours over two calls. Ultimately they said the delivery would be 9:30 pm or later. I asked for them to deliver the next morning instead and was told it would cost $12 to make the change. I did not want my uncle staying up and trying to deal with groceries in the middle of the night so he did not get his Christmas groceries. I rescheduled the delivery for early this morning and once again the groceries were not delivered. I called and said I don't mind them being late but they need to get there before 7 pm. At 1:30, I was promised that would happen. I just got off the phone for the third time today. It's now 6 pm, they said they don't even have a shopper assigned and can't give me a time. I asked why they let me order and pay for groceries if they can't fulfill the orders — they just said we have a high volume. I can't remember ever being so appalled. Not one person offered a solution
I ordered on Dec 18 at 7 pm from store A. They cancelled at 10 30 pm without any warning. No message, nothing. The next day the 19th I got a message that A was closed. So I thought that the store had closed its doors. I never received such message. So I order from another store B. Then, when my order is taken for B I get a message that the shopper from A is on its way. I'm like WTF? Suddenly I realize that the message I received about A being closed was for the day before. I panick. I m like I have to cancel B immediately. I try to cancel. Doesn't work! I write several emails to Instacart to cancel. No answer. So I wait for them to assign a shopper. Finally I get one. I tell her to cancel the order immediately. She notifies Instacart BEFORE proceeding with the order and it is cancelled
And guess what? I receive a bill of 15 dollars for cancellation fee. I appealed but they won't budge. How about paying me for cancelling the order on the 18th? I wasted 3 hours.
I ordered for on Christmas eve for dinner on Christmas day and after 6 hours they canceled my order and moved it 2 days later like wtf. $#*!s
USER BEWARE. I would give 0 if I could. I used Instacart several times no problems. In the last Month 1 shopper added $52 in items I did NOT purchase. They made it right, but took 2 weeks to refund me. They gave me a $30 courtesy card. Ok that was nice. Very next time the shopper added $380 to my $170 order of items I DID NOT order. Making it $550 which Overdrew my checking. I called them got 3 different representatives after asking for a Supervisor every single time. Then transfered me to Kroeger who after I don't know what they agent told them but I was hung up on. NO ONE resolved my issue and thank God my Bank took the complaint to handle it. Chase Bank was awesome. Instacart sucks and I will NEVER use them again.

Two hours late delivering twice now. Plus missing items i paid for. I have emailed back and forth so many times and called customer service trying to get a prorated amount back for my membership that I didn't want in the first place. I can never get a response from the same person, no one ever listens to what I'm requesting and when I asked to speak with a supervisor (7x now) they are all busy and never called back. I will never order again, worst customer service and no a $5 credit towers my next order is NOT good enough!
I'm on complete bed rest and I ordered groceries, early morning and promised noon delivery. The groceries were delivered after midnight in below freezing temps and left on frozen concentrate steps and most of my groceries were frozen and exploded
I HATE Instacart. This morning I placed an order and had my payment rejected on several cards. I then tried to use one of said cards to purchase at Amazon, no problem
Then used card to purchase a instacart card Code was put in and was well over the amount needed so I had a zero balance. BUT instacart requires a cc for "hold" The CC I can't use at instacart. So now I cant use the gift code, and all the cards I tried to use are no under fraud investigation and I have to call all my cc companies.
Called CUSTOMER SERVICE, no help. Have to have a card. Exculated the issue and was told someone would resolve and email within 25 minutes. That was at 11 am. Never use Instacart.
At the risk of becoming an outlier by posting a positive review, I'm compelled to do so anyway. I have purchased various and sundry items via Instacart and it's many partners, literally hundreds of times since joining a number of years back. While Instacart is a convenience for many, it has become a major source of everything for me. And, while the service hasn't always been perfect, Instacart has gone out of its way to provide reasonable accommodations, remedies and instantaneous refunds for any errors whenever appropriate. Unfortunately, being a disabled person, I don't have the luxury to go out and shop. In my experience, Instacart has always been there for me and because of this, I want for nothing. Moreover, with the ever increasing number of shopping options added to the Instacart lineup, not only do I enjoy all manner of groceries, but I can also choose from a variety of top brand items (electronics, household items and goods) whenever I need or wish. Additionally, every single shopper has provided, without fail, the best service possible regardless of the size of my order or the time of day I placed it. KUDOS to them! And, no, I do not work, nor have I ever invested in Instacart. I'm just one extremely satisfied customer.
This service delivered flowers to a location, then when the person wasn't home they didn't leave the flowers where they could be found. I don't know what they did with them. When I called to see if they could resolve my issue, since they had already charged the bill to my credit card, they responded by saying they had NO RECORD OF THE DELIVERY! Now I'm out that money! Terrible company, DON'T EVER USE THEM, PLEASE!
The shoppers have always been great and helpful. The prices that Instacart charges are a bit high for me. It would be nice if they could cut some of the charges down.
This company won't continue to offer refunds when their shoppers choose poor quality products. They are refusing to refund me for produce dropped off covered in mold bc I have a past of credible refund requests. Always shown proof with pictures and not my fault. Avoid abs file BBB complaints.
I ordered groceries for my family at 5:30pm with an expected delivery promised for 7:30pm. No order at 9pm and I logged on to check and it shows my order will arrive at 11pm. I call the agent who explains the order has not been processed, and now Costco is closed. Nothing offered on return for this massive hassle. Waste of time and money. Do not use yhem
I needed a gluton-free cheesecake. I went to the ALDI store I usually go to and it was out of stock so I checked online and found it listed as in stock at a different ALDI store. I had meetings all day so I ordered it from that store for delivery, only to find out that they sent my shopper to the store where it was sold out, not the store I had ordered it from, and gave me a replacement item instead.
So now I don't have my item and wasted time and money on delivery fees and a tip.
A very unhappy one-time customer
I was using Instacart for ordering from Costco. First of all, they kept locking my account for no reason and i did the verification form 7 times because every time i would talk to any customer service person they would send me stupid verification form. And when i finally was able to make an order, their shopper didn't had enough money on the card to shop. Atleast provide your workers some money so that they can buy stuff. It took me 3 days to make a stupid instacart account. Even when they activate my account. When i tried to buy right away they locked it 7 times and when i called they said because they thought someone is stealing from my account. Like seriously!?
They will randomly lock you out of your account citing "security" reasons and then expect you to submit government ID to prove your identity to get your account unlocked. Uh, what? Totally sketchy!
Long time customer of Instacart, the platform works well enough when it works. But today I encountered a fun issue, I paid my yearly subscription and instacart locked my account. I called the support number and for over an hour was given the run around. End result, they can't help me and there's nothing I can do. Final result I'm out $99 and my only option is to pay another $99 for a new subscription...
What really bothers me is that I use instacart to support gig worker types. I purposefully tip high to try and help those that aren't as well to do as myself. All those drivers now lose $20 - $100 per week worth of my tips. I fear deep down that Instacart's lack of support has lead to a drivers baby not having a Christmas.
It's as if the shopper failed to even go down the certain foods aisle to attempt to get the items which the website clearly states 'many in stock.' I am missing half of my order, so frustrated and now my family cannot eat the meal!
I only ordered grocery delivery because I was injured cannot operate a vehicle. Customer service offered a refund, we cannot eat a refund! I feel cheated and scammed and in disbelief that they do not simply send the driver back with the missing BAGS of food!
There are some notable activities which need to be investigated; the delivery time gets changed and the items are added after shopping so you are charged more.
Based on other reviews this is common practice to exclude items. I feel this is a scam taking advantage of the vulnerable and hope the scammers are further exposed and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
We ordered with out first reading there reviews.DONT USE THEM!They have nothing but excuses and a credit for our next usage.Id rather walk to the store or possibly even crawl through glass,rather than listen to there rehearsed lame excuses.
Answer: Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
Answer: You can't! The only way I got a response from them was when they emailed me to rate my driver and I gave a bad review for her and Instacart. I got an email back. Otherwise, there is no Customer Service! I tried everything under the "Help" section and got nowhere!
Answer: Seriously? They have already scientifically proven that is not spread that way. How many strangers & kids and semi drivers and warehouse people touch your stuff before it even leaves the store.
Answer: No, they don't by policy. But I've found they don't deliver anything else either. Last two orders were cancelled. I dumped my account and told them to keep the gift card balance. Done with InstaCart.
