The company exhibits a divided reputation, with some customers praising its supportive approach and ability to help bring ideas to market successfully, highlighting quality service and effective communication. However, a significant number of reviews express serious concerns regarding financial mismanagement, lack of responsiveness, and allegations of deceptive practices, including bankruptcy filings to evade refunds. The contrasting experiences suggest a need for improved customer service and transparency, as well as a more consistent delivery on promises, to foster trust and enhance overall satisfaction among clients.

Thank you for the opportunity to sell my idea. Hoping we can get this off and running. I believe it can help a lot of people.
One of the best decisions of my life was listing my patent on idea buyer; Idea Buyer team has changed our lives. Thank you very much!
I am excited about my idea and am looking forward to working with your company. Thank you!
Take the time to create your listing properly and the good results will follow; Idea Buyer has helped me to get some ideas of mine to start making money for me. I never had a bad experience with them and i would highly recommend them!
Idea Buyer has been a great experience; I would recommend anyone. Good people to work with.
Very happy to post a positive review for Idea Buyer; I first was introduced to the company by one of my coworkers; It took just 8 days from registering on the site to get my first lead. Really impressed with teh service!
Idea Buyer helped me get my invention in front of real companies I would have never been able to access on my own. Really helped me through the whole process.
I never expected that Idea Buyer would open so many doors for me... Thank you!
I have applied for their program 5 times and have been denied. They keep telling me I am not ready but I don't understand why.
I work with them but didn't start until after I already had a patent after an introduction by my patent attorney who recommended them. They helped me get my first purchase order and have helped me grow to over $250,000 in sales over the past 18 months. We just landed a huge contract with Macy's for further distribution based on the sales numbers and they negotiated a roll out.
I would say that you absolutely need to be prepared before approaching them. Some people have said they were not accepted or not replied to after applying for the program and I would just say that you may want to better prepare and then contact back later. They aren't interested in working with every product so just be aware that if you contact them, they might not be interested in working with you.
For me, I would say I am quite good at what I do but I didn't have the ability or resources to do what it would take to get my product to market myself (I was working a full time job) so their partnership was a god-send for me. Otherwise, I have no doubt I would still be working 9-5 and dreaming about getting my product out there 'some day'
I am going make dael iwth and paying for fees for product launch?
Can any one help me to persue contract or not? Wth Colin Egbert
The website has been very helpful for us to grow our sales by getting us into more retailers. We have received five leads from the site and three of the stores have placed purchase orders for our product.
It took just 1 week from registering on the site to get our first lead, we couldn't recommend the website enough and we will be using it again in the future.
Idea Buyer's team saved me. II had worked with Davison and received little. With Idea Buyer, they had me within retailers within 4 months and I received a licensing offer of $30,000 down and 8% of sales. With Idea Buyer, they delivered tangible results and were motivated far beyond what I've seen other companies offer. I am happy to send them their success fee monthly because they deserve it.
I run an inventors group and the Idea Buyer team has been kind enough to speak to us several times. They are kind, empathetic, and share wisdom that delivers results. It was great to see over 10 products that they have brought to market and I really enjoyed them having a local inventor they helped share the details of their business coming to market.
I worked with Idea Buyer for 2 years. I have made over $500,000 from my invention. I am so happy I applied for their program. Thank God.
We have been working with Idea Buyer since 2010. We are a Patent Attorney office in Sacremento, California and have sent over 50 clients to Idea Buyer. While they ended up only accepting 5, they delivered exceptional results and as Patent Attorneys, that is really important to me. Highly recommended!
I have helped enginer automobile parts for over 20 years. When I came up with my own product, I researched the best companies online. This site helped me make my decision and I am so thankful I did. Now that I am carried in Auto Zone and 5 other auto shops, I couldn't be happier that I worked with Idea Buyer and found these Idea Buyer Reviews. I have 0 complaints.
The absolute best!
Very happy to post a positive review here. I first was introduced to the company through my friend who did my
Patent work. It was nice to have the intro because it helped me license
My app to a gaming company that has taken it to the next level. I now don't have to worry about the daily operations
But get to focus on the creative side. While I'm not getting huge checks yet, the royalties have replaced my income
As a software developer and allowed me to now focus on my own creations daily.
Idea Buyer has helped me to get some ideas of mine to start making money for me. Admittedly, I am a creative person with many ideas that were potentially profitable, but I had no idea how to monetize them and begin actually creating income. I need someone who can help me with the business side of things, and Idea Buyer does just that.
I learned about Idea Buyer from a colleague that was tired of hearing me talk about how I needed to consider patenting some of my long held ideas and concepts. He sent me the link to their website, and I was pleased with their easy to understand business model; they take my idea and help me to streamline it and list it to be sold or licensed. The listing is viewed by potential buyers who could contact me, allowing me to present more about my idea and negotiate the terms of a sale.
When I reached out to Idea Buyer, they were extremely helpful. They were pleasant, professional, and willing to create a partnership. I felt like I built a great rapport with them right away, and felt as though I was in good hands.
As we moved ahead, they helped my patents gain exposure and find the right buyer. I was afraid that I might get contacted by buyers that were not serious, only to have potential sales fizzle out, but I had a stream of genuinely interested buyers. I was glad to see that Idea Buyer has so many potential buyers browsing their site on a given day. They seem to have a great handle on quality control; the inventions, products, and ideas up for sale seem to be cohesive and marketable ideas, and those seeking out patents to purchase are ready to buy.
The tail end of the process was just as easy as discussing the listing process; I had offers within a week, and a sale of my patents finalized within a month. Idea Buyer worked as my liaison from start to finish, and they always answered any questions I had at each point. I never felt like I was left alone to fend for myself; they provided guidance and helpful tips that ultimately helped to insure my success.
Now I have two products that will be on their way to manufacturing this winter, and I could not be more pleased. Idea Buyer gave me all the tools that I needed to become the successful entrepreneur that I've always hoped to be. I'm shocked by the size of the initial checks I received, and I can't wait to start receiving royalties on the ideas that I've been sitting on for years. I know that I'm making my family proud.
Faye was exceptional. I have to say that she is the best thing about this company. You can't imagine the pain I went through prior to working with Faye and the team. I worked for over 5 years to bring my product to market and get it protected. Now I have my product in over 22 stores. I have made more in the last 6 months from my product than I did from the 4.5 years before that.
The site is all and good but how about some updates like including social media share buttons and cool little features like that. I posted my patent on here about three weeks ago and have had three people contact me which I'm excited about but I had to move to email because the messaging was so hard to format for me and I couldn't send attachments in the messaging center.
So, here are some of my recommendations.
1. Update the messaging center to allow for attachments.
2. Include social media sharing so patent holders can easily share their listing on sites like facebook, twitter, linkedin, and pinterest. Oh, and maybe Youtube too.
3. Maybe do a featured patent highlight daily on new patents on your site? For example, mine :)) ). See third one down on the home page :).
4. Offer some consultation on pricing a patent? I didn't have a good idea of how to do this and didn't see any tutorials? Would be very, very helpful to people like me that are more of the technical side and less of the business.
5. To the point above, how about some template agreements to be made available for people.
6. The ability to upload videos to your listing. Currently, I see I can link to videos but it would be nice to be able to put them right there in my page.
Wow, much longer than I thought but I hope the company makes these updates and then I would give it a great review.
The Idea Buyer team has helped us build our business from a small product line being produced out of our garage to a million dollar business through licensing. Licensing our patent to a major manufacturer gave us the ability to profit from our invention without taking the additional risk of bankrolling inventory and purchase orders. As the product line continues to grow, our licensing checks continue to grow, giving us the freedom my husband and I have sought after.
Answer: No, they have just taken our money :(

Answer: Here is a quick excerpt from the guide; What is Patent Licensing? Legally speaking, you have licensed your patent when you (the licensor) grant exploitation rights over your patent to a licensee (the person you are licensing it to.) Exploitation rights simply means the right to create, market, and/or sell something based on what that patent protects. A license of this nature is also a legal contract, and that contract is what will spell out in concrete terms precisely which exploitation rights are being granted. These include any performance obligations the licensor might demand of the licensee. This means that if any performance obligations are included in the contract (ie, You must produce X number of sales by the year X.), and they are not met, this could lead to the patent licensing being terminated in its entirety. In this context, a license is also revocable ie, cancellable if certain terms and conditions are not met. This is a common characteristic of legal contracts in general, with special ramifications for patent licenses. The only way to grant someone irrevocable exploitation rights, it should be added, is to assign them the patent. Assignments, however, are permanent. They entail the sale or outright transfer of the patent by the assignor to the assignee. An in-depth exploration of patent assignments is beyond the scope of this article, but just know that they are an option if irrevocable exploitation rights are something you seek.) We hope that is helpful.
Answer: Hi Nick, We are a vertically integrated team that can do everything from engineering, IP protection, and production quality prototypes to getting purchase orders from major retailers.
Answer: Hi Ashley, First, you want to make sure your product is unique and solves a problem. Then, you want to research the market and make sure it is unique and growing. If it meets those first two criteria, it may make sense to continue further. You'll want to look at the complexity of getting it produced and competing products in the market. If it isn't reasonable that you could work with companies to get it to the point of a production quality prototype then it may not make sense to move forward. You'll want to work with a team that understands the importance of protecting your IP (and the steps needed to get their with engineering) and the commercial viability of your potential product.
Answer: All of the products we work with are new products. I hope that answers your question.
Answer: Hi Gilles, Do you have a patent, inventory, and existing sales?
Answer: Extremely expensive & required up front
Answer: Thank you
Idea Buyer is the #1 ranked new product development company in the United States.
Idea Buyer partners with entrepreneurs to help them turn ideas into businesses. The company is based out of Dublin, OH, and was founded by serial entrepreneur Eric Corl in 2007. The company has been recognized three times as one of America's fastest growing privately held companies in the United States by Inc Magazine. Idea Buyer has also received recognition from the likes of Entrepreneur.com, The US Chamber of Commerce, Bloomberg, the White House, and more.
Eric Corl states, "The more we've grown, the more success we've had, the more we've learned from our failures and successes. We've become more and more selective of our partners given the nearly 40 bad ones we've had over 12 years. Our satisfaction rating is over 97% but that 3% really frustrate me because our team works so hard on every project. We would rather not work with you than have any chance that there are issues six months in. Some people...
