They take money from you and will find any reason to lock you out of your account. I've gone to them twice on them taking money out of my account and they claim it's because of unusual activity though there was none. I had around $70 and ended up with a little over $20. They are scammers.
This company uses any excuse to steal you money you work hard to earn... first they reject legit offered you try to claim... then later when you get to cash out if you lose the number you signed up with that is their excuse not to pay you... never mind your paypal account is still the same. And honest company would have other ways to verify since phone numbers come and go...
I submitted a receipt 6 times and they deny it because they can't read the date. That is a lie because the date and other info is clear. My rebate for the receipt is $10.25. I don't think they want to give me that much money. I believe if I resubmit the receipt and ask for only $1 they will see the date
I Love Ibotta. I'm almost in the $1000 club. Costumer service has always been helpful when I've had a question or problem.
I have been using this app for a year now and have cashed out over $60 successfully. They have great bonuses for completing a certain amount of offers which motivates me to do more and save more. Recently, I hit the $20 mark again and trying cashing out but keep getting error messages. I contacted support and they said they have been working on the issue with cash out to PayPal and it will work again once they come out with an app update. I am hoping that this is true and will happen soon.
I had downloaded the app a very long time ago and forgot about it. That is, until they sent me an email that I would be charged money for not using the account! I asked them to cancel my account, that I was not using it anyway. They just sent me the following:
Account Maintenance Fees will not be deducted from an Ibotta account balance as long as an offer is redeemed in the Ibotta account within a six month period. If an account goes six months without redeeming an offer, Ibotta will deduct an amount equal to $3.99 from the accumulated Ibotta earnings every month prior to reactivation ("Account Maintenance Fee"). However, prior to the end of the six month inactivity period, we will remind you to redeem an offer so that you have time to avoid Account Maintenance Fees.
So, i guess now, every 6 months, for the rest of my life, I have to tell them to not charge my account?!?!?!?! How is this legal?
I have now contacted customer service at least 6 times as Ibotta wont honor my items bought in store at Walmart. Ibotta claims that the items are ordered online while I bought and proven by submitting the receipt, that this was in store purchase. Walmart has a code for certain items even thought that reflects the items that qualify under Ibotta, but Ibotta won't honor them. Since I used Walmart pay through the App, during my in store purchase I had to email through the App, the receipt to my email and make a picture and submit the picture, I should have received $ 3.50 dollars in credit and this is not the first purchase not honored by Ibotta. Ibotta now claims no emailed receipts will be honored but I made a picture of my receipt from the App. That receipts saves paper and is what I get for all in store purchases by using Walmart pay App. Even with a linked Publix phone number and using the App, there were missing items. Too much effort and nuisance to make this App qualify as a decent App. I just emailed Ibotta my response of how dishonest they are for not honoring an in store purchase with a real receipt that shows store, date and all items. Now Ibotta claims that only "paper receipts" will count. Ibotta is probably awaiting a class action lawsuit if they keep handling their clients like this. I do not recommend this App.
I am new to Ibotta. I just got it 2 weeks ago and was so excited to use it! I finally managed to save 30 dollars and I went to cash out the money I had saved and of course... it doesn't work. I've tried for 3 days to get in touch with customer service but there must be no such thing because I haven't heard anything. Thinking this is a big scam. Every time I try and get my gift card it says for me to retry and that the connection is bad... my connection to the internet is fine... I've tried it with and without WiFi.
Tried this app again. Will not give me my rewards from my Hannaford loyalty card. I tried to sumbit a request, but the submit button on the app was not working.
I heard all the hype about Ibotta so signed up. What a nightmare! Don't waste your time thinking you're going to save tons of money. The exorbitant time you have to spend chasing down the rebates and then emailing back and forth with customer service is better served by clipping real coupons. Take the Walmart receipt code hype for example... supposedly you just take photo with your phone and Ibotta will in fact know what you bought and give you the rebates immediately. NOT! It doesn't work and now I've wasted several days with going back and forth with customer service and I still don't have the correct rebates. I even tried only purchasing 4 items for each receipt and that doesn't work either. Excuse after excuse and still no resolution.
I could have saved more money by just using regular coupons or store sales and saved the money on the front end rather than spending full price and hoping for a rebate. There are terrific coupon clipping services where you can pay very nominal clipping fees and obtain newspaper coupons.
I was optimistic at first because of the hype but now I see that's all it is... hype. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
I had trouble submitting a receipt; tried to resubmit 6 times. Emailed Ibotta, got generated responses no individual contact. I gave up and cancelled app. Totally frustrated, quit while I am ahead.
Don't bother... takes way too much time looking for rebates, taking pictures of receipts and products AND then they deny or miss your rebates and their customer service is terrible!
This Company somehow charged my Debit Card $ 55.00 dollars. I have never even heard of this Company until my card was charged. I had to call my bank and my card had to be cancelled on Easter Sunday of all days. Very mad and upset about this. Good thing I get emails when my card is used online.
I regret ever downloading their app. You as a customer have the right to request to close your account at any time. However, it is unacceptable and frustrating that their customer care department requires you to answer unnecessary questions for you to do so. Each time you reply to their message, they take their sweet time to reply. Then your reply shows up on a thread as an update from their department. Their customer service agents are unhelpful and annoying.
I had earned $66.00 with shopping, then they changed app versions. Now unable to get into the app unless I get a new phone! Which I am not going to do due to the cost! They have never offered to even send me a gift card for that which I have lost. So with that being said I would be cautious of using this app as to who knows what changes are to take place next!
Had Ibotta for over a month and met the requirements for $20. Took 3 days to post, didn't credit a purchase and pending $20 earnings just disappeared.
Can't get in touch with Care Team. What a waste of time!
The last for times I have used this app to get a little extra money for diapers and other household items I needed (IBOTTA) has not allowed me to cash out my earning; that I have went out of my way to collect while grocery shopping; to my paypal(even after contacting customer service about it). Now it won't even allow me to cash out to a gift card. I have been waiting days for them to fix it and have heard nothing back at all! This app has gone down hill and I no longer recommend it to anyone.
I saved over $100 in 4 months, then they removed all of it and gave me negative stating I owed over $50. No one would write back. NEVER USE THIS AGAIN
This is defiantly not a honest run business. Emailed them with my complaints nothing was done I sent receipt with my purchase over ten times with the items and my account was not credited everytime I get close to my 20 dollar reward and want to cash out there is a problem either they cant find items or money already on my account is gone mmissing I had 18.00 next time I check it's 16.00.
Answer: Absolutely so true! I earned up just over $100 and when I went to cash out they said I was fraudulent YET I HAVE EVERY RECEIPT and all submissions were valid. It took me months to get to this amount. Hmmmmm Class action anyone?
Answer: Because they deny certain purchases due to cost! It's become a scam!
Answer: I tried to withdraw money for the first time and it said my account was locked because of multiple attempts which was not true.! I sent 5 requests for help in a week and they finally responded by deactivating my account and keeping the 360.00 that took me months to accumulate. They claim I tampered with a date on a receipt and I just crossed off the account number. So they can keep my money that is mine. How can I get my money back?
Answer: Sorry Jenna bit it seems like you're kinda late for that rebate a few years actually. I'm pretty sure that ibotta have 100% absolutely forgot about you and by not I'm sure you forgot about too. :)
Answer: Go to your $amount and cash out and it will say bank or gift card.
Answer: Why don't any product receipts add extra bonus for us?
Answer: You have to email the morons that run their customer support at least 3 times before you'll get the proper amount credited to your account.
