Hubzu is not a scam. I am a realtor and have had success bidding for my clients on Hubzu. The bidding is straight forward and my clients who have won bids are happy with their purchases. I'll be happy to help anyone looking to bid on Hubzu properties in MD, DC or VA
Contact me *******@gmail.com.
And shame on US BANK and other banks working with this scammers. 5 times I won the action with the highest bid and after the last one they email me house is under contract with someone else. HOW COME IF I WAS THE HIGHEST BIDDER?
Hi Claudia,
We are sorry that your experience during the auction did not meet your expectations. Because many bidders may have experience with traditional auction formats, a Hubzu bidder may think they have won the right to purchase the property because they have the highest bid. This is not always the case. Reserve price is one factor that may prevent the highest bidder from winning the property. A reserve price is the minimum the seller is willing to accept for the property in an auction. If an auction ends without the reserve price being met, and no selected bidder is declared a winner, then the seller reserves the right to accept a lower bid, negotiate with a bidder, or propose new terms to the bidders. It is important to note, it is also the sellers right to simply relist the property for auction again.
If there is anything else we can do to provide you with more information regarding auctions or assist you in future properties, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future.
Thanks,
Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
My business won the bid 4 different times the first 2 times we received confirmation we were high bidders and then got an email stating they wanted almost 20k more to secure the property. The 3rd and 4th time we had shady bidders J--C and J---G bidding against us after J---C put the high bid and was awarded it the same bidder J---C would bid again even higher even tho they were the high bidder. I believe they have faulty bidders to push the price up. To top it off everyone you call is in another country after you get through the push button robots.

Very robotic. You're not dealing with an agent; there is one, but never available, though several tickets were created for a return call. Worst experience. Put over $6000 deposit and they wouldn't agree to a two week extension for the mortgage. The deposit had to be wired within specific time frame, but is being returned via check... which hasn't arrived yet, has been 2 weeks so far.

Magically 10K Below the last starting bid... I got an email stating that my bid deposit will be returned in 7 days... But I'm going to Cancel the card on them anyway!

Mystery bidder ran the house up on me and another real bidder... the auction closed with the mystery bidder of course in the lead. The initals of that bidder match the lean holder company name!... Hubzu is a SCAM!
They give a deadlines than extend it several times, you don't know if you are actually bidding against someone or if they are cheating.

I was trying to buy a property on one of the auctions and all ways was been outbid by someone else. And the funny thing about it that the reserve was met so basically the property is sold. But no the next day it was released for sale again. That happened to me 5 times on Hubzu. Btw I have noticed later on that the fake bidders are always the same Name initials and always beats on all the properties. So basically good luck buying or getting a good deal on Hubzu.

Hubzu drags their closings out weeks longer than promised. Their auction process was fairly straightforward with a published reserve, however they do not stick to their obligations as spelled out in the purchase agreement.

Won 2 auction 2 times...
1st time, HUBZU said they were giving other bidders a chance to outbid me, after I won.
2nd time, same property, I won. Then they said unit is under contract with another buyer.
Total bull$#*!! Don't waste your time...

I purchased my childhood home in Little Rock, Arkansas through Hubzu.com. I'm no investor and had never heard of Hubzu. I called my realtor friend to inquire. She said that she had used them before and all went well. The reserve amount was the starting bid amount. I was the only bidder. I bid ONE TIME and won. Within a week or less we closed with there title company and had no issues. I could always reach someone on the phone. Every call and email was returned promptly by the same person. They were very helpful in the process. My childhood home was luckily still in excellent condition. I would recommend this site to anyone.

They don't answer messages. I won an auction and met the reserve and they still declined my bid. I bid on the same house in three different auctions won all three but they still decline my bid and I was the only bidder it's as if they don't want to sell the house. I sent multiple messages and still non response.

As with any online auction, you must do your research and have patience. Currently I am working with a clients to Win the bids. Hubzu is not very transparent and and as long as you keep your expectations real and hire a pro for help, it will make the process less complicated! Working successfully with Florida clients

You bid. You're the top bidder. You still don't get the property. It's happened to me and several other people I know. Customer service is non existent. Its honestly awful. DON'T do it to yourself or your money which they hold on to.

The PSA is not available for review before bidding and committing a $2,500 deposit, yet if I win the bid and do not sign a contract (PSA), which I don't know what it says up front, I lose the $2,500.
And if I lose, you keep the deposit for an extended period, per the other reviews.
It's just a poorly executed model that is all in the seller's favor.
The highest bid doesn't necessarily win, the seller can pick a lower bid. You can be the only bidder and still not win. And you hold a $2,500 deposit on terms that are not known. Yikes.
No wonder there are so many bad reviews.
"This is a one time Bid Deposit ("hold") of $2,500 to be placed on your credit card. For more information, please see our FAQ's Total Hold $2,500
I understand that if I am the selected bidder and I authorized the initial hold with my credit card, Hubzu has the right to charge my credit card if I fail to return a signed Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) or send the required earnest money deposit within the applicable time frames set forth in the PSA."
PLEASE NOTE: If you are the selected bidder and you fail to perform as described, then your card will be charged. ALL SUCH CHARGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE."

Ok. I bought my last house through Hubzu and although I didn't feel like they were very on top of their game as far as professionalism, my bid was accepted about a week after the auction ended and I was very happy with my purchase. Here it is 3 years later. A House comes up in auction for $617. Cash no financing. It is occupied and in a gated community so being sold cash. As is. Sight unseen. There are NO PHOTOS. This is a total grab bag purchase for over a half million dollars, So. As would be expected, Noone bids. It comes back up a week later for $623. No one bids. Two weeks later I am ready to bid, and it is now minimum bid at $628,, 11 higher than the last two times it didn't sell. One bid came in at $628 so I had to bid $633. Now the bids are pouring in. It gets up to close to $800,000 After 5% is paid it will be $850 cash to the buyer. CASH. SIGHT UNSEEN. WITH A POSSIBLE LONG TERM EVICTION. The house is worth about $775 tops on the open market, in a traditional sale IF it is in decent shape. I was floored that someone would pay that. No way was I competing. The house supposedly sold and I received my deposit back. The next day I receive a notice that the house is relisted and would I like to bid? It is now $619 and it has been 2 days and no bids. You tell me?
Hi Jennifer,
We are sorry that your experience during the auction did not meet your expectations. Without knowing the details of your situation, it sounds like you may have experienced bidding on a property under "Special Servicing Conditions." This means that a third party financial institution is involved and that bid approval is not guaranteed and may take longer than usual as indicated on the disclaimer section as well as in our FAQs section: https://www.hubzu.com/about/faq.
We also understand that at times, some auctions or bids may appear unusual to the bidder. Rest assured we work very hard to ensure only legitimate and serious buyers are bidding in Hubzu auctions. Our Buyer Verification Program as well as our Bid Deposit Program (select states only) were designed to address these concerns and protect all parties involved. In addition, we absolutely never place bids corporately or on behalf of the seller. To learn more about these protective programs, please visit our FAQ page https://www.hubzu.com/about/faq on Hubzu.com or feel free to contact Hubzu directly via phoneat 855-882-1314 or chat. Answer: Hi, A reserve is the price set by the seller indicating the lowest price the seller might accept for a property. The Seller's reserve is not disclosed during the auction and once reserve is met, bidding continues through the end on the bidding period. At the end of the auction, all bids and bid components such as financing type and requested closing date are subject for the seller's approval. The seller is not obligated to accept a bid and reserves the right to refuse a bid even if the reserve price is met. To learn more about the reserve and bidding process, you may visit our FAQs at https://www.hubzu.com/portal/support. Thanks Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
Answer: DON'T THIS IS A SCAM SITE! YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR HOME AND ALL YOUR MONEY
Answer: Hi Clifford, We appreciate your interest on Hubzu. We also apologize for the late response. The starting bid amount is set by the seller prior to the auction period. This is normally a percentage, but definitely lower than the seller's reserve price. The reserve is the undisclosed amount that seller has in mind to sell the property for. It is not shown to bidders but it will be indicated on the property page if the reserve is met. Please keep in mind that the bid amount that can be submitted online may not be lower than what is currently indicated on the listing whether it is the "starting bid amount" or the "current highest bid amount". Should you need further assistance or need more information regarding auctions and how it works, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected] with your contact information and specific property details or Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future. Thanks, Altisource Customer Advocacy Team
