The auction is not a real auction. They looking for a persons ho don't understand nothing regarding real estate. They biding agents you and if they can't get price bank want they say auction is ended unsuccessfully. It is not auction it is regular real estate office looking to get price bank wants. Don't call this scam auction. Call it by it real name. Looking for a fool ho will give us price we need. I was 3 times wining the auction and all the times they played the game refunding the 2500 that hold for the auction. Albert WILK real estate broker.

Broker
June 27, 2020

Customer service does not answer or call back. I am trying to bid on a property for a client. They are asking for a credit card deposit of $1000, 00. I am not willing to use my card so I entered my clients card info and it will not remove my email address from form and is not going thru. Today is Saturday and I started on Monday. I have called 7 times, reps are busy. Emailed no reply. Guess they want buyers to go on their own so can keep commission. I have been a Fannie Mae and HUD rep and never had such problems!

Waste of time
June 25, 2020

They don't honor high bid. But review and decide if to accept the bid offer. And they extend the time of the bid unlike eBay. Total trash and waste of time. I bid once and last time just deleted my account. Don't waste your time.

Hi Eran, we understand the bidding process may not be what you’re used to. Being the highest bidder doesn’t guarantee you’ve been selected to purchase a property. Sellers can accept or reject any offer — they can select the highest bid or a lower bid price with better terms. One of the things that may prevent you from being the selected bidder is the reserve price not being met. If you have questions, please send an email to [email protected] or visit our FAQs to learn more.

BUYER BEWARE-
June 24, 2020

I am not an investor, I'm a single Mother. I was looking for a house for me & my kids. Wasting $$ on rent.
A forever Home.
Hoping to get a good deal.
BOY I WAS WRONG
I was watching this house for 6months since it went to foreclosure.
I bid on a house, I was the highest bidder & won the bid but, they NEVER sent anything to the sellers/bank.
I contacted the seller/Bank and they NEVER received a contract nor anything on that property.
We got an email stating we won, and then another saying we are not the highest bidder and they sent us something that was not my bid amount.
Try get someone on the phone NOPE...
After My kids & I was so excited waiting to do the closing this is what I get.
Property came back up on a new 6 day auction. They said they think they can get more $$ and for me try bidding again.
Don't waste your time. It doesn't matter if u win or not. Even if a reserve was met. I even offered more money for the property. BUT, THEY NEVER SUBMITTED MY OFFER TO U.S. BANK. I'm not an attorney but isn't that illegal?

I have noticed later on that the fake bidders are always the same Name initials, fake bidders on all properties on site as the starting bidders P... P..., J... C... and G... F... they have faulty bidders to push the price up.
So basically good luck buying or getting a good deal on Hubzu.
I learned the hard way about Hubzu. Don't trust this website
How do I tell a 8 and 11 year old we didn't get the house

Scam! Scam! Scam!
June 6, 2020

They recieved my earnest deposit and all paper work emailed to them before my closing date and a agent santarsha Smith kept saying she didn't get the emails but they said they went through on my end. I called several agent and they wouldn't return my call but I finally recieved a email stating something they already told me which was they didn't get my paper work in time. They also sent me a affidavit of understanding that said due to the coronavirus outbreak government offices were closed so there access was limited. That's a issue for them and I just want my money back.

Hubzu is owned by Altisource title, they want you to use there title company. Do not, I chose to use my own due to bad reviews and still have had so much trouble it is not even worth it. The people there brag about all kinds of excellent service but provide none. On a cash closing they set date out 3 weeks and still could not produce the correct deed and contract documents, by closing. They wanted to extend another week but would not offer any compensation. At this point i was just ready to walk we were out of contract. But due to all contract stipulations all in there favor I would have had to give up earnest money. They tried to put all back on my title company that we could have closed by the original date that they had sent us deed and corrected seller info on time. But i had all email copies and they had sent deed, just wasnt correct nor was seller authorized to sell property. Once this was brought to there attention they thru up contract stating, they could extend contract if they needed more time, blah blah, blah. So I was forced to proceed to close. BUYER BEWARE- DEFINITELY NEVER USE THERE TITLE COMPANY!

After purchasing 80 properties online on behalf of the company I work for, once again, HUBZU takes the prize as the WORST online auction platform. The four other online companies we deal with are much better by varying degrees.

Customer Care never answers the phone - and does not return my calls
Emails are not responded to (3 emails to customer care last week never even got a courtesy reply)

Their people are difficult to deal with - It is impossible to get a simple corrections to a contract.

I will keep dealing with HUBZU as my job requires it, but I cringe at the thought of going through another HUBZU ordeal.

HUBZU - LEARN FROM YOUR COMPETITION!
Polite and knowledgeable staff and fast courteous service is the norm elsewhere.
I speak from experience:
70 mostly pleasant purchases from your competition
10 very frustrating purchases from HUBZU.

I know you can do better - the question is, will you?

My real estate agent and I placed a bid on a house. Hubzu did not post a minimum "meet price". The auction ended with my bid being the highest bid, but they unilaterally cancelled my bid, did not provide an explanation and placed the same house back on auction 30 minutes later for $20K more than my bid. My agent tried to contact Hubzu, but like many other reviews I have seen in the internet, they are unreachable by emails and phone.
If the bank established a minimum price, they should disclose it.
Shady business practice.

Hi,

We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. Because many bidders may have experience with traditional auction formats, a Hubzu bidder may think they have won the right to purchase the property because they have the highest bid. This is not always the case. Reserve price is one factor that may prevent the highest bidder from winning the property. A reserve price is the minimum the seller is willing to accept for the property in an auction. If an auction ends without the reserve price being met, and no selected bidder is declared a winner, then the seller reserves the right to accept a lower bid, negotiate with a bidder, or propose new terms to the bidders. It is important to note, it is also the sellers right to simply relist the property for auction again. If there is anything else we can do to provide you with more information regarding auctions or assist you in future properties, please don’t hesitate to contact us at Hubzu Customer Care at 855-882-1314. We thank you for the opportunity to respond to your concerns and hope to meet your expectations in the future.

I learned the hard way about Hubzu. I bid, met the reserve, then won against competition. The customer service posted number directed me to an answering machine that did not return my call. Hubzu, next sent an email that said it was allowing others to make final offers. Finally, the property came back up on a new 6 day auction. Who wants to deal with that garbage?

Hubzu is owned by Altisource and will not return your earnest money. Nor will they allow you to make repairs to homes that need repairs, even though they allow you to use financing upon bidding. Save your time and energy and run away as fast as you can. We are now having to retain an attorney to fight for our earnest money. Save your self the headaches and frustration of dealing with Hubzu and or their sister company.

Hubzu/Altisource one of the worst companies to work with when closing Foreclosures. You work with off shore employees who speak very broken English, but their email states they office in Atlanta, GA. Their closing department refuses to return phone calls, Harass buyers, threaten to cancel signed contracts, charges buyers high fees to use them. Employees are rude and demanding. I would never recommend Anyone use their site to bid on a home.

I bid on the same property 4 times during its successive relistings, and won all 4 auctions, although admittedly the reserve was not met. The property continues to be relisted. I reached out for contact through calls and submitted multiple tickets, but have never been responded to. The "broker" of record has fake number and address. I challenge the business professionals responsible for the infrastructure of Hubzu to take an honest look in the mirror and decide if the company's practices align with their own values. I agree with Claudia (1/13/20) - all banks should avoid this service as its practices and techniques clearly do not align with their stated values. In my case - Bank of NY Mellon C/O PHH Mortgage Company. To all those working in the field of real estate and lending, may good karma be with you. But be assured you will not find any at Hubzu.
