The company's reputation is mixed, with notable strengths in product quality and delivery efficiency, as many customers express satisfaction with their purchases and the overall aesthetic appeal of items. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly in handling issues related to delivery options, billing disputes, and product defects. Customers frequently report difficulties in reaching support and receiving timely resolutions, leading to frustration. While some patrons appreciate the extensive product selection and smooth purchasing experience, the inconsistency in service responsiveness and problem resolution highlights areas for improvement in their customer service approach.

They didn't include my entire address on the shipping label so ups just dropped it a random location. Houzz only wants to contact via email and after a week of waiting on a response I had to call to get the ball rolling because they haven't done anything with trying to find or replace my order. Going on three weeks now and they keep saying "one more day, one more day"
They told me it shipped yesterday which was a bold face lie because the package isn't in the system for ups. They do not care about their customers at all
Houzz... hmmmm. I had not heard of them, and this is my fault for not doing any due diligence. The price point between their faux silk plants and other retailers was huge, so I decided to take a chance. I ordered two faux silk plants, which were to come in two separate orders. About three days later, half of a plant, seriously, a stalk of a silk plant (advertised as a full plant with planter on the website) arrived at my door. I contacted Houzz to ask for return information because this was not what I had ordered, and have not received a reply. I have emailed or called almost every day for a week with no either no response, or put on hold for twenty five minutes in one case, and at least five minutes or more, then abruptly disconnected. The second package never arrived and the tracker on the website shows that the order cannot be found! Yes, I have also called and emailed about this missing order to no avail. I am beginning to think this is a scam? Advertising products that don't exist? I wish that I had reviewed the company before wasting $75. I will never make that mistake again.
Ms. MacKenzie contacted me and apologized for the trouble I was having in getting someone at the company to respond to me regarding the return of a product. Ms. MacKenzie arranged for pickup, pre-paid for the return, and credited me back for the full amount. I am very pleased in the actions taken.
Date of Transaction: Jun 19,2017
Order #: 1570-6760-4560-7548
Description: Peerless Dresden Blue Toilet
Payment Method: AMEX
I ordered a toilet for my in-laws who are 89 yrs old to try to match their 50's bathroom decor. They decided to return it after finding out their entire bathroom has to be re-done due to rotted sub-frame. The toilet was delivered on Jun 19th to their address in NC. I emailed Houzz requesting return instructions and they replied to give Bath1 (I guess their sub-contractor) 1 to 2 business days to respond. After 4 business days with no response I emailed Houzz again. No response this time. After 2 more emails and a phone call no one responds. I have contacted American Express with which I used to purchase the item and submitted a dispute on the charge. This can take 5 to 7 weeks. I should have checked with BBB prior and would have never ordered from Houzz due to the same complaints by others. This company needs to be investigated by the Attorney General in the state of CA.
I have contacted Houzz three times to request return of two 8X10 rugs that are not what was pictured on their website. The colors are way off and look royal blue and gray vs. pale blue and white. They have yet to respond to any of my emails. I am very dissatisfied with their lack of response, to say the least. It's a simple request that their website claims will be answered within two business days. Three requests have been sent for the last two and a half weeks. So frustrating! Does anyone have any suggestions for resolution? I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!
I ordered a vanity that was supposed to be wood. It was more plastic than a shampoo bottle. I tried to return it. I requested return three times, filled out the customer support form and called 5 times. No help. No answers. A month later, I am still trying to get someone to help me.
I had a couple good experiences here, well, normal online experiences. HOWEVER, I recently purchased a chair and was told during checkout and on the order conf page the chair would be delivered by a certain date. After several days went by, and the website still stated that it should ship any day, I emailed the support team for an update. That's when I got an email saying THEY CANCELLED MY ORDER BECAUSE THEY MADE A PRICING ERROR AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME MORE. I was then told I would be contacted by management which never happened. THEN- I got emails from them with links to other chairs that "I could purchase for a similar price". HA! Absolute joke. Will never purchase from here again!
Steve Olsen built and remodeled our custom home and did a remarkable job of bringing our dreams to life. I would have no qualms in asking him to build for us again should the opportunity arise. There are few contractors that bring an honest, quality relationship to the workplace. Steve is one of those. Feel free to look up the creation that he built at 5033 Caviar Court Fair Oaks CA.
If I had read the reviews on this site before I never would have tried to order from Houzz. I have like many others tried to contact your company with no response.
I am posting my complaint again on this review site.
I purchased a set of 3 vino rosa terra-cotta vases on 26 June for $153.89 and got a order number 1571-2945-8551-6170. A few days later I get an email saying my order was canceled because they weren't available and was given 3 other suggestions I might like. When I clicked on the hilighted original vases I ordered it showed that they were available but for a higher price of $197.46. I don't understand how your company can do this to its customers.
I called them and informed them July 14th about defective chair, and they asked me to email them pictures of the defect. I emailed them 5 mins later, and I AM STILL WAITING ON A RESPONSE. July 17th I asked for a refund... STILL NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME! I want everyone to know they they are the WORST website company I have dealt with!
We purchased some beautifully handcrafted mexican tile from Houzz with no issues at all. We had some questions that got answered right away. Our order was processed and shipped quickly, in less time than we were told to expect the order. We were worried about breakage but the tiles were expertly wrapped and arrived in perfect shape. They are beautiful and we are pleased with our entire experience.
I am very happy with my dream home patio. Thank you Goodman Construction Team, I appreciate your hard work and love the outcome.
We ordered and paid to have a shower door delivered to our home for a bathroom
Remodel. The measurement the contractor gave me was incorrect, so I am trying to send the door back to get the proper size. They said the would charge $570 for the FREIGHT and the door cost $495! This is ridiculous and someone is certainly cheating us and the distance from the warehouse TO out house is the same and the
Distance FROM out house to the warehouse. I WARN EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. MJ
I purchased this product several weeks ago. First I found it on Amazon later for $200 less. Second when it was delivered I saw how cheaply it was made so I sent is back. I had to pay for the return because the seller wouldn't. Houzz is the worst re-seller I have ever encountered. They publish a return policy that says you can return with 30 days. When I went to return this my request went directly with the seller. I ended up having to pay for the return. Houzz did nothing once the sale was completed. They are not reputable. Lastly, this chair was $200 cheaper at Amazon, which treats it customers better!
We purchased floor/ wall tile for our bathroom floor. There was even a picture of the tiles on a bath floor on Houzz. When the contractor opened the box and discovered they were too thin, we notified Houzz. They have refused to accept a return because it has been longer than a month. I have used the proper tile and am now stuck with these even though most of the order is not even opened.
Houzz is so overwhelmed with complaints they simply do not have the manpower to handle it all. Responses go unanswered and problems are unresolved.
My advice to Houzz is lure some Amazon employees to Houzz to teach you how to deal with third party vendors and clean up this huge mess you created.
The item I purchased was my first and very LAST Houzz purchase. Yes your policy is posted on your site but I'll interpret it for clarity to other prospective shoppers. The item I purchased was $26.59. With $3.99 added for postage, my total purchase price was $30.58. OK. Now, because the item was too large for the chosen location, I "changed my mind" and made the unfortunate decision to do a return. My net return after deductions by Houzz for the policy penalty for me having made the decision to return the item and for the policy deduction that does not retu; rn shipping fees, neither the outgoing or the return fee, net return to me was $17.52. A LOSS of $9.07 on the product itself!. What to say... never, never again, Wayfair? QVC?, Overstock?, Amazon?, did I say Wayfair?... maybe the best! And, still there are more...
I was told there was price matching by two of their people * an * but when I was sent to that department ext I was told by Nathen they never had price matching. They never contacted me within 2 days so I had to keep calling them. STAY AWAY! Buy from AMAZON my item was $16 cheaper and great support unlike HOUZZ!

Supreme remodeling has made a remarkable transformation of my house! Opened up the 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. From the exterior and interior with new electrical, windows, kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom; with new insulation and heating system. The beautiful landscape outside again opens the house; a sight to see!
I purchased an expensive oak desk from here. It arrived damaged. Naturally, I contacted Houzz for a replacement of the damaged piece. I was hung up about five different times by several different customer service people until I finally got someone that would stay on the line and didn't act completely clueless.
He told me to send an email to get this started. I provided pictures of the damaged box upon arrival, the extent of the damage of the piece, etc. They refuse to provide the replacement.
Their response to my email:
"Thank you for contacting Home Styles Furniture. I do apologize for the damaged unit however upon further review of the pictures you submitted, this damage happened during transit and the retailer assumes responsibility for all freight damage as it is not cover under our warranty; so please contact the retailer from which the item was purchase for further assistance."
So basically, they won't replace anything that arrives damaged. I'm in the process of trying to get them to just pick up this stupid desk so I can get my money back. If they refuse to accept it back, I'll just go about it the hard way and make a dispute to get my money back by force.
Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!
Answer: Go straight to the top at Houzz. Ms. Adi Tatarko, CEO, Alon Cohen, Pres. If tha doesn't work, I suggest you file complaint with the Consumer Affairs Division of the California Attorney General's Office.
Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
