I was going through a guide to building a website from college info geek creator Thomas J Frank and he had a discount for Hostgator in his instructions. Also, when I did an internet search myself on Hostgator rankings it had some good reviews compared to a few other hosts. I was pretty excited about getting my website going and didn't want to lose my nerve so I bought it pretty quickly.

I encouraged a client to sign up with Host Gator (I'm usually a GoDaddy fan... this was my first time referring someone to Host Gator). As soon as I got into the WordPress dashboard, I updated the WordPress version and plug-ins and got a fatal error. I'm back on the phone with tech support instead of doing real work.

I chose HostGator because we used at work and it was fine. However, for a non-website professional, this system is NOT dummy proof so I will call the help desk again tomorrow. Totally frustrated with this whole thing. After posting this initial review, the customer satisfaction team reached out to me and they where absolutely wonderful. I am struggling creating my website. I completed the form to request assistance. A rep called me back but during work hours so I couldn't answer. They did great by following up via email referring me to make an appointment. However, I made the appointment but the rep never called. I'm still stuck in frustration mode.
