Please beware that the shared accounts included depreciated software because basically the company is hoping that you as a consumer are not KNOWLEDGEABLE and will not know the difference. This is the companies strategy so you sign up thinking you will have current software but come to find out if you have someone working for you who knows how important having the current version of PHP is will inform you that your websites have a security risk...stay away from this company..

Misleading information on their website. I transferred my domain name to hostgator based on the i formation on their website offering email forwarding with domain purchase. I am been told that I must purchase a certain type of hosting to be able to use email forwarding with my domain. Twice I opened a ticket and was told that they fixed it. And at the end they told me to buy a hosting plan.

Through no fault of their own, the customer service reps have little information on everything (and I mean everything) someone has to do in order to completely, 100% move a site from one provider to another. As in, nothing on moving the actual URL and not just the files and hosting.
The ticket had to be escalated and it all took a few weeks. I'm glad I wasn't relying on my sites for money, but I am relying on them as a part of my online portfolio for finding a new job.
They always have great support and always update their products. Nothing but good things to say. Hosting and Domains.
