I did not have a good experience with Home Chef. Thankfully, I paid through PayPay and they refunded my money. Here is a transcript of my conversation with them.

Hi - I received an order last week and do not want to subscribe. I made the pork medallions with the carrots and bok choy. It was pretty bland but was average. My husband wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole though. The next recipe, which has fennel we won't use because I hate any spice that reminds me of black licorice. Also, I had said I needed low carb and the sauce for the pork medallion definitely had a ton of sugar in it. One dish is to be served on top of rice which we are not going to have. I just want someone to not charge my card or send anything else. Thank you.

This would be a good idea for seniors like my dad that doesn't know how to cook. I like everything to be fairly spicy and so I think that is why I didn't find the food interesting.

One other thing... most men can eat more than one chicken breast for dinner. If I had stayed with this service, I would have had to make extra side dishes so in that way, it kind of defeats how "convenient" I thought it would be. Portions good for a woman but not for most men.

I paused my account on Friday yet got an email this morning that you folks were sending me another shipment. I will use the emails and the facebook messages to prove to my bank that I did not authorize this charge. Most of the vegetables you sent to me were old. I think you folks are ripping people off. I have let Paypal know to decline every time you try to charge in the future.
Answer: You can NEVER cancel. Once you sign up, you can always "pause" your account and -- based on some reviews here -- the company seems to occasionally ignore your request and ships (and charges you) anyway. Based on my experience with their non-existent customer service, this is not the kind of company you want to give your credit card # to, as they appear to be unethical, and they are reluctant to honor their satisfaction guaranty.
