Do not buy from this website and do not buy Turnigy batteries
Bought 2 Turnigy nanotech 4S 5000 mah last year.
Arrived out of balance. Never would balance.
I provided required documentation. The refused to replace or refund.
1 BLEW UP ON THE CHARGER AND STARTED A FIRE IN MY GARAGE.
Crappy company selling crappy products.
Never had a shipping issue. In fact shipping from the US warehouse I get it in 3 days. From China I get it in 11 days. Want to save a ton of money? I can buy 2 of everything and still save over 50% on North American prices and I have an extra part. Gopro equivalent for $70! I have 2! Ok, the parts aren't the best quality, but seriously, you SAVE a bundle! Sorry you guys had such bad shipping issues. But I guess SOMEONE has to buy North American prices! ;)
NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Unfortunately the lowest rating I can give this company is one star. Once they have your money you can forget about any type of reasonable behaviour or customer service. You get nothing but poor or no response from them if something isn’t correct. Don’t risk it to save a couple of quid. Buy from a reputable dealer. If you don’t believe me just read other people reviews.
I tried to purchase an FPV accessory from them, paid for and got their Order Confirmation email. So I thought everything was hunky dory and gave them a couple of weeks before checking back. Then after nearly 3 weeks passed, I shot them a couple of emails asking the status of my order. NO RESPONSE. After a week has passed, I shot them another support request, waited a few days then opened a Paypal dispute.
Throughout my order, my support email\requests and Paypal dispute, not a single email was sent to me as a reply. They didn't even bother responding to the Paypal dispute case. In the end Paypal refunded 100% of my money, but no one could return the time I've wasted on these scammers.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AT ALL.
What good is the low advertised prices if you risk of losing your money by dealing with them?
My experience with Hobby King was terrible. All the customer reviews are correct. There customer service is terrible. Trust me on this and everyone elses. Do the research for yourself, you owe yourself that before you lose your money. Do not order from this place. You will be let down and you have been fairly well warned. If you order from Hobby King even your own mother well disagree with you and send you to bed without super.
Total waste of time and money. You get no order confirmation, no reply to queries re "where is my order etc. It is the equivalent of a black hole in cyberspace sucking in orders and sending no signal let alone an order. You have been warned!
My husband ordered from them dec 21st we received the wrong stuff, we sent it back and the post office verified they received it jan 15th and we have still not got the correct order or our $165.00 back. Worst customer service I've ever experienced!
I ordered an electric motor in Sept., 2013. The site indicated it was in stock in the US warehouse. After hearing nothing for about three weeks, I emailed them asking about the order. I received several responses from them that the item was being delayed in customs and would be shipped soon. I got tired of waiting and requested they cancel the order and refund my money. They gave me some story about not being able to cancel the order until it was received in the warehouse. Weeks rolled by with no refund. I'd get emails assuring me my refund would be coming soon, and emails asking me how I'd rate their service! Every email I sent or response to their emails got the same promises for quick action. They owe me $31 and still won't give me a refund. I will NEVER again order anything from these crooks and suggest you don't either.
The MOST HORRIBLE WEBSITE on planet earth. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and they charge you extra for shipping but send it slowly with some lame courier services which does not provide tracking. I ended up paying so much for customs.:@…HORRIBLE.!…. Better sites are Myrcmart and inifinityhobby.
Should have done my homework! Purchased a B-17 flying fortress that was supposed to be a "plug&play"... needless to say when it arrived, the sevos & esc's were missing! Went to the site, put in a request haven't heard anything from HK, Oh well, at least I have the plane! First time, Last time!
Placed a order for 2 batteries on Jan 28th. Both batteries were in stock. They got my payment that day. I checked today, Feb 11 and one battery is on backorder. This isnt the first time they did this. Last time I order from these guys. Just gonna spend the extra money and order from SPC batteries.
I have used HobbyKing for several years with few delays and have always bought '5 crown' rated items. I always read the reviews on each item before selecting. I always use PayPal so that I have a record of payment. I'm a 'platinum' member because I have made 63 orders with HobbyKing. I try to find what I need at the US warehouse for quicker shipping but most of my shipments have come from the Global Warehouse and usually arrives in 10 to 15 days. Jesi Chan and her customer support for issues are poor and she needs to fire the bunch thats in there now and get some people who care. HobbyKing states that their # one priority is customer support. If Jesi can't get it done then Peter should fire her and hire someone who can make service and support a prioity. If He did, with a world wide customer base, HobbyKing would triple their business.
Prices are so-so, customer service is TERRIBLE, delivery time is TERRIBLE.
NEWER AGAIN!
Placed an order on Jan. 12, paid for express delivery. My order was finally shipped on Jan 24, still waiting. According to Canada Post: "International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada". What kind of "express delivery" is that? Like some people already mentioned it here buy locally.
I had read on forums that this site offered decent price but beware of the wait time. I was reasonable enough to wait a week but after a week of my order, I called to inquire and apparently they had accepted payment from paypal but they did not mark my order as ready and that it was still awaiting payment. After talking to online chat he said was the ordered paid for? I'm pointed out that Paypal and completed the payment a full week already. He finally decided to check system and saw that payment was indeed already accepted. Now they finally decided to mark my order as payment completed and that processing is now occuring... almost a week and a half later. I want to cancel order but I'm unsure if they are even going to refund money. Seems dubious. I wholeheartedly do not recommend going with this company. An Australian company ships and process faster than them. Go local or somewhere else. The extra dollar spent is for quality and peace of mind.
Customer service doesn't work at all. If you're unlucky and get a broken piece, you have to pay the shipping cost twice.
Some items are more expensive here, look for them in other webs before order.
Their website crashed when I was placing an order for $300 and as a result they charged my paypal account 3 times deducting $900 on my card. When I contacted them about it via livechat first they said they had refunded the two transactions which turned out to be a lie then when I contacted them again they basically said it was my problem and I should contact Paypal myself to get it resolved.
Placed order in sept 2013 they just send e-mails saying if they dont hear from me the matter will be considered resolved. I still have not received order. They couldnt care less.
Huge ripoff no customer service dont throw your money away!
I ordered and paid for a 1800 Balsa Beaver on 18/8/13. Granted it was on backorder from the Australian Warehouse but they received numerous stocks in early September. I waited and waited for my order to go through but it just sat there. I corresponded with Hobbyking countless times highlighting the fact that there were stocks available in the Australian warehouse. Each time I got a reply telling me my problem was solved. More waiting and still no despatch. More correspondence and same generic replies as I watched stocks slowly dwindle down to zero in December. Pretty annoyed considering I have purchased all the extras, like esc, prop, servos etc and have had them since September. I just can't seem to get through to these people. I have asked for a phone number so I can speak to someone. Does anyone have a number? I loath to complain as my very numerous other experiences with Hobbyking have been good but I'm at my wits end. Don't want to have to contact Fair Trading again like I did with a certain QLD hobby store.
Found this site after I ordered 3 LiPO batteries (3C 2200mah 11.1V) and got really nervous that I was going to get screwed... I made sure their site said that they were in stock from a USA warehouse and ordered USPS Priority and they arrived right on time... charged them up and flew my eflite 450 Cub on parkzone super cub floats in the snow. They all held a full charge and flew great considering only $12 each! I dont know how they do it when the EFlite batteries are north of $40 now... Both made in China... Anyway, great customer service on this one, just dont know if I am brave enough to tempt fate twice!
Hobby King is a total scam. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them in every way. What I can't understand is, given the consistently bad feedback on various blogs, why hasn't Hobby King been shut down? Isn't there any avenue to report their shabby operation to something like a Consumer Affairs authority?
Answer: Hi. I live in the UK. I would never use hobbyking again. I never got my stuff took 3 months to get refund. Take your money and then they don't care
Answer: It all depends on the Bank that you. Plus check on why it took the refund. In fact, the refund is quick from an average of 3-4 days. Actually just given extra time for both the seller and the Bank. And accordingly, if the seller has constant operations on a refund, this has a negative impact on the company's rating for the Bank. Especially if there are disputes between buyer and seller. From my experience, the returns are realized in several ways: 1. On credit card 2. On account on the HobbyKing website. 3. Or product if not reached or was spoiled. Damaged goods was a couple of times, and some of the delivery services. Overall, the problems with the refund arose. Sorry for bad English.
Answer: Please contact us here https://support.hobbyking.com/hc/en-us/requests/new for the latest rates
Answer: In all honesty, I think it only means they got your money. That's all they seem to care about. I've been going round and round with them saying my order is complete when in fact they still owe me about 70% of the total order. They refuse to split the order and I'm tired of arguing with them. From some of the other reviews, it sounds like it's their method to start the clock early on the return policy. Regardless of whether you have actually received the item or not, the return policy starts when they say the order is complete.
Answer: PS Peter, I am assuming you mean the 1400mm EPO Flybaby? If it's the balsa 1350mm model I have no idea as I have not owned that model. Al
Answer: Hi Peter. Unfortunately I don't have the FlyBaby any more to check the battery bay I can however tell you I used ZIPPY Flightmax 3000mAh 4S1P 20C@ 139x46x25mm. A larger battery will fit but IMHO you will probably be better off with a 2200 to keep it as light as possible. Al
