Sizing system is poor and they don't support return shipping. They have a bad system to get a gun belt to fit. Also, they expected me to pay return and reshipping fees.
Could not believe I ordered and had the product in two days!
I had some questions on a few items, they were very helpful answering. Order was received in 2 days, items were of good quality and exactly as seen on website. I did need to return and exchange the pants for a different size (mistake on my part, I ordered my usual waist size, website does suggest measuring just below your naval, generally a size or 2 above your usual). Received replacement within 2 days, they fit perfectly! Highly recommend and I will be ordering more in the near future.
The hat my husband wanted was not in stock in his size initially, so I asked the team when they thought it might re-stock. They gave a very fair and accurate estimate as to when the hat would come back and even followed back up to let me know as soon as they had it back in the shop. Super helpful!
The staff really goes the extra mile to answer your questions, help you select what you want/need, fill you in on the incredibly reasonable shipping fees, explain the return policy if you need to return an item, and help you with any issues if any item doesn't work. In today's world of horrible customer service, they excel.
As far as merchandise, I was trepidatious to purchase from a costume house having had personal tailors most of my life, but they have wonderful items to fit the niche specialty needs of costumes and theatre at very reasonable prices.

Ordering was easy, shipping was faster than anticipated. Quality and construction of item is top notch. Sadly the fit was just not right so I started a return. So far they have been great, easy process, fast response to questions. I would not hesitate to shop here again. Really dig everything about them.

I just received my black floral tooled single drop buscadero rig. Tooling looks nice. Quality is not quite what I hoped. But the most disappointing part is. The belt only holds "8" cartridges. They must not know about cowboy action shooting. Each stage you'll shoot 10 pistol rounds. 5 from each handgun. There is plenty more room on the belt for more loops. But that's where they take the shortcut to save materials. Time to go back to Triple K leather I guess

I have used HE since 2015 and always found them helpful and had everything our business required. Lately, there has been not one thing we needed in stock. I wonder what actually is in stock sometimes! And to add insult to injury, they can't ship to Australia (that's probably not their fault but other companies certainly can). I had to get my last order sent to the UK to my daughter to get it shipped here and that cost me not only postage but bloody import tax too! This is not just recent either. We've been trying since before COVID to get clothing and always out of stock. We waited and waited but nothing ever seemed to be restocked. Historical Emporium used to be a business I could really recommend to people who always commented on our uniforms but now I have to tell them that they were great but they just don't have anything anymore.
Purchased two hats in the same size. One fit, the other, (from a different manufacturer) did not. Disappointed to learn I would need to spend $54 to return an $80 hat. While I like the products, I won't purchase through this company due to the return policy.
Historical Emporium is good quality of clothing, in addition, each style of product has a unique look and feel to it. I'm still frustrated that they can't bring back the Ritter wool vest and trousers. I have a vest similar to the Ritter wool ( the Julian vest) and I always wanted a vest like it, because I thought it would be good to have a variety of that type of product to wear to school as a casual attire.
