Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. Hibid the platform
April 3, 2021

HIbid is an awful platform. My primary complaint is that there is no way to follow up with the item you won. They show the price you won it for and that is it. No totals ( premium & taxes) and most importantly no follow up from the auction house to show if it has been paid, shipping cost and the tracking number. It really is a poorly organized site and difficult to navigate. If you do go back to find the auction house, that may not be the one that is doing the selling. I won an auction from one place, with another dba name, and then when I got the email it was from a 3rd name. WTH.

The actual auction houses are a big mix. Some mom and pops that have no clue what they are doing and probably only started because of COVID and other reputable auction houses. Random denials of ability to bid is another weird thing. Never have I been denied the opportunity to bid until I started to bid on HIBID. I would expect a bit of decency to be given a reason for the denial, but no explanation was given.

Do your research. If the house does not have a website or at the very least accept paypal, move on. It is not worth the hassle and possible exposure to fraud.

To those houses that I have purchased from, I am sorry and thank you for a great item, but I will no longer use HIBID. Luckily, many of you are also on live auctioneers.

As the sister of a former employee, I am writing this to tell you that this site bids against its customers... My brother, along with many others, had this job position. They have employees with fake accounts to drive up the prices and make more money.

Sorriest of the sorry

If you like paying for broken items. Then hind is for you! They are quick to debit your account but slow about helping you when the time comes to pick up your items. It's a cluster you know what when time comes to pick up your items. There is no organization, they let other bidders who have won items pick and paw through y of ur items scattering them and damaging them. And offers you no solution for broken items. They are a bunch of crooked crooks. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM UNLESS YOU JUST LIKE GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY!

I have been buying on HIBID for 3 years. I have really not had many issues, but recently I had an issue with a seller that put blatant lies on the site about me. HIBID refuses to help even though I have the proof the item was never delivered until 2 months later and I REFUSED the item and it went back to the seller. This seller said I receive items and then charge back. I have never done this. HIBID has no way for me to refute this by putting a reply, they won't return calls to see evidence to remove the post and will not even let buyers see what sellers are posting about them. The company is poorly run, but most sellers are great.

This site illegally sold my families personal belongings and Pack rat made a lot of empty promises, when they breached their contract and gave us further details because they knew they messed up and realised they could not sell it because they knew what was in there. My identity was also stolen and I cannot legally prove who I am because My social and other personal information Identifying who I am, was in there. Down to our entire house, I contacted my states legislatures, DC and police in AZ, they have been more helpful than this company and Packrat. Do not buy from this company with out 100 percent knowing if anything is stolen and personal Identification cards and/ or identifying who you are. Not only that I am haven complete strangers use my identification online without my permission impersonating me and my family.

Hibid itself is just an online auction website + software system. It CAN be scammed by auctioneers because they can see each bidder's maximum bid and in most states, "shilling the bid" - adding their bid to just below your maximum IS legal. I've been shilled by several auctioneers but always do the math first to know what would be a good price for an item including commission, taxes, and shipping. One can sort items by "order - high to low bids", look at the bidders, and even though their names are anonymized you can identify the same bidder that's aaaalllllmost winning in all the $$$ auctions.

This was recently confirmed by an auctioneer acquaintance of mine after TWO flaky auctions where I won by my max bid. One was a $350 camera with the (shill?) second bidder MATCHING my bid SIX times!

Also, entering your true maximum bid at first is probably not a good strategy because of the above. As the auction closes, the closing items may come too fast and furious for the shill to keep up and multiple bids as in a traditional auction can be effective.

I have purchased a few items on 2 different auction houses and whenever they are shipped I never get what I bid on. Auction Depot and Wildcat Auctions will switch what you buy from them after the sale.

No tech support
January 15, 2021

I can't access any auctions with my credit card. The hibid text support doesn't have a clue on how to resolve the issue of my address not matching the credit card company. Auction companies are losing customers and bidders not being able to access the bid process...

January 13, 2021

I recently purchased 3 Hummel thru Vann Land Auctions. I paid18%+7%tax. Then I paid$43 shipping. When they arrived they were poorly packaged. All were broken. I contacted them sent pics& waited 5 days. I then removed the fees from my credit card. Then they got in touch with me& I sent more pics& info. Now the are disputing the charges. I will not buy from Leslie Vann. He may be good with livestock, machinery, gravel& dirt but he's lousy with fine ql

I have been on the site for around two months and have spent thousands of dollars. So far I've had a coin stolen while in transit. Auctioneers response, not my problem. Next, I won an auction and the auction house did not feel comfortable shipping the item. I purchased two firearms 3 weeks ago and can't get a shipping notice. I was charged $80 dollars to ship two small metal signs less than a pound. An auctioneer had two listings for a coin, one valuable the other worthless. The coin was mislabeled, I was not going to pay $800 for a worthless penny. I have another instance where I simply did not receive my items. Auction house response not my problem. Now somewhere in the ether I received negative bidder feedback and I am denied and permanently banned from bidding. I'm not allowed to know what crime I committed, a vague message from the auction house saying I am banned from bidding for life. Zero due process, the bidder has no way to view this negative feedback. I'm done with HiBid. It's a joke!

Absolutely worthless
November 15, 2020

One auction they will let you bid and the next they won't even let you register. I must of out bid them on their last auction. Their website is the slowest in the auction business. If you like to bid in the last few minutes move on cause you have to bid like an hour because their site is so slow. Completely worthless go to auctionzip for real lots and 100% going service. Cause if you have any problems you better hope it's Monday through Friday on business hours or get not a bit of help. Since alot of the auctions are on the weekend guess what your screwed because hibid don't care and don't want to help the bidder or the seller out. So, DON'T USE THIS WORTHLESS WEBSITE

Pickle barrel auction
November 11, 2020

This company is not upfront with how they advertise the products for bid. They offer a lot of 20 glasses which you think you are bidding on all 20 but in fact your bidding on just one. I got scammed and I think a lot of other people did thinking that the bid was for the whole lot. Apparently paid $28 for 20 beer glasses. That works out to $560 for beer glasses! I'm fighting this!

Unprofessional!
November 11, 2020

I purchase many items at online auctions. I have found HIbids venders very unprofessional: 1. Not providing pickup info details clearly and in a timely manner, 2.not answering Emails, 3. Not providing lots purchased or providing complete purchased lots, 4. Giving incorrect or incomplete Details in pictures and discrepancies in empty boxes and bottles, 5. Arrogance in owner's customer service verbal communication, 6. Not providing receipts after numerous requests.
DO NOT USE THIS AUCTION!

I purchased a painting for thousands of dollars at LOVE'S AUCTIONEER & APPRAISALS In CAD, On Aug 19,2020 turns out to be a forgery. You are asked to wire transfer the cash which you cannot dispute for refund once transaction has been completed. So be wiser than me don't do it.
Don promise to make things right but he hasn't yet.
He never gave me additional provenance he was supposed to have when we spoke on the phone. I began to notice he would say somethings on the phone then when we text on the same subject his response is different. I had to request we only text he each other so he will not continue to change his story.
Even after the painting was appraised by renowned appraisals he didn't give me my money liked he promised.
Only when I agreed to buy it for $500 USD, He agreed to give me the difference which was $4,182.42 he kept $845.62 USD. I only agreed to this because I cannot get my money any other way. Because at one point he Offered instead of getting a complete Refund of $5,533 USD shipping included, I keep painting for $2000.
He wanted me to send painting back and they would take insurance of $6000. But I thought it was a insurance fraud and I didn't want any part of that because we both knew the painting was a fake, forgery and not worth $6,000.
I requested all my money because he didn't honor his part of the agreement now I want the balance of 1,346.62. USD
I also sent him the copy of the email I received from auction house personal, whom got confirmation from Ai Xuan the artist himself, that the painting was not his artwork.
Don manger and part owner still refused to honor his word and make me whole again.
The painting that was sold to me is a copy of The Artist Tang Wei Mie works which I texted to Don.
I have notified Chris Kennedy at Hidbid Headquarters of all of the details listed in the complaint.

Obviously, this company gets paid by the auctioneers using this app, and the auctioneers wouldn't pay to use it if it didn't draw business... so when I had an issue with an auctioneer, I contacted Hibid for assistance. My request went completely unacknowledged. A simple reply was too much to ask of them. This may be the direction society is going, but in an industry that RELIES on a customer base, you dont just get to dodge CUSTOMER SERVICE bc you want to.

Just had my first experience with HiBid Ripoff auction. Auctioneer must have friends that are on the floor.
Not my connection that failed. The auctioneer didn't want more for the item.
KEEP IT IN MIND IF YOUR NOT THERE THEY WILL SELL TO A FRIEND OR SOMEONE THEY WANT TO GET THE ITEM.

Easy to use
September 10, 2020

Great auction platform, easy to use as a buyer. They do NOT charge $1 for each auction you bid on it is an authorization only. No one is bidding against you from the auction site either, the program won't allow it. ¹
