I received a discounted box because a friend suggested. Never ordered another. All I could do is delay shipment. Well they got me. I forgot to go cancel. Charged me $50 for 2 meals of pasta. Plus they delivered at 9:45pm in S.FL it's hot. The food was not cool. The ice pack was still slightly cool but not frozen. I am afraid to even eat the meat for the sauce. So whole thing going in the trash.
I HAD CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION AFTER MY FIST BOX. THEN MONEY WAS TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR ANOTHER BOX. CALLED THEM WHEN I SAW THE TRANSACTION. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS TO LATE TO CANCEL THE ODER, BY 1 DAY. I DIDN'T PICK OUT THE MEALS AND DIDN'T WANT THE ORDER. WANTED A REFUND. BUT THEY TOLD ME I COULDN'T GET THE REFUND. STILL THE BOX HAS BOT BEEN PACKED OR SHIPPED. I FIND THAT A LITTLE STRANGE IT COULDN'T BE CANCELED. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. SO NOW I'M GETTING SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T PICK OUT OR WANT. AND OUT $80.00, THAT IS REALLY SOME BS.
IT SHOULD GET A ZERO RATING
Tried my 1st dinner last night. Loved it! Had the meat loaf, mashed potatoes, green beans. The meat loaf could use a little more spices. But overall good. Mashed potatoes & green beans off the chart good. Portions were perfect! The price right in line with a restraunt meal, maybe even less. I will be a customer for life!
Wish that i could give 0 stars but I cannot. Just don't bother with Hello Fresh...
Great for anyone who wants to be duped out of some hard earned money! And I only signed up because I got the first few boxes on a discount - the idea of paying the full price for this rubbish makes my skin crawl.
The food isn't that good, the subscription model is the worst and cannot be paused or stopped easily (like the tell you it is when you sign up). Once you're in, you're essentially forced to stay with recurring payments every week, whether you want the food or not. There's barely enough time to change the recipes and for a primarily vegetarian person, there's only a small and boring list of options.
Oh and not sure what sort of deranged person wrote this recipe, but they tell you to pooor a boiling kettle of water onto dry rice... An absolute abomination, clearly they need a new chef to review their recipes.
Also this company claims to be an eco-certified B-corp whatever, however half of the stuff in their boxes is wrapped in plastic film/bags.
The only redeeming quality this company has is its customer service team, shout out to the Hello Fresh customer service team, keeping the company afloat at this point!
Cancelling is WAY too hard. I put in a request to cancel almost 2 weeks ago. When the charge posted on my account as pending, I assumed it would come off. When it did not, I checked in on my account and it did not cancel when it should have. When I chatted with someone on at the company, they said they could do nothing because it was less than 5 days before my delivery date (even though I did the initial cancelation a week before but it did not process). Very disappointed because it is too expensive, time consuming, complicated, and terrible cancellation process.
This is our 5th box with HelloFresh and these are the pros and cons:
Pros:
1) The foods/recipes are good and fresh
2) The packaging is good
Cons:
1) We've encountered a delivery issue with HelloFresh. They promised to deliver our meal on a Saturday and it ended up coming on Wednesday of the next week.
2) There is a glitch on the app and it secretly charged me for 2 box in a week (didn't send me any confirmation after the payment). I called customer service and they acknowledged that there's a glitch in the app but unfortunately, there's nothing they can do...
3) Called HelloFresh for customer support, they picked up the phone and then hung up on me.
With all these issues with HelloFresh I think its best to save your money and buy groceries yourself.
Ordered 6 premium meals with meat -"we are not vegetarian. Some ingredients weren't very fresh, and we didn't eat them all, they just didn't suit our lifestyle, so I cancelled the subscription however try as I might, I couldn't get my card details off their system. I was told by customer services, that accounts are completely run by the customer (when I questioned why they sent 4 meals, when I had specifically told them previously on the phone, that we only really eat meat dishes!)
Then, I received a message out of the blue, to say I had a delivery on it's way, and £40+ had been taken from my account! The meals being sent were not what I would eat - one is a burger, I DO NOT eat burgers! I phoned CS to query why, when I'd cancelled was I getting another delivery? The person was very polite, but said he couldn't/wouldn't stop the delivery - everyone has a phone! So I wasn't getting my money back!
On top of this, I have to contact them seperately, to take my card details off their system - isn't it illegal to keep card details againt your will? What happened to " It's a customer controlled service? I will never use them again, and never in good conscience recommend the either.
I agreed to do a survey over the phone and they gave me a discount code in return. Was kinda stoked until I realised they'd reactivated my account after this call without telling me. Called them to fix their mistake and see about getting my money back as the box hadn't been sent. The guy was a bit rude and told me they couldn't do anything. I expect to get scammed by dodgy emails, overseas phone calls and hot singles in my area, but not a legitimate business
They don't let you see true cost of the meals until you sign up and then you see that all the Meat Proteins are much more, something like 10 to 15 dollars more for each serving. I can buy an entire stake a the store for 15 dollars, why am I paying that for a chicken add on.
Be sure, you receive your cancelled order, and of course they withdrew your money, low costumer service
They will not refund in case of a misunderstanding. I cannot eat the meals being sent so it will be a waste.
This is the second time I have had a membership. I cancelled the first time after a few months. I joined again becuase they sent me promises of discounted meals again in succession. The first meal was $37.16 for 4 meals for 4 people (really only feeds 3- portions are small). I skipped 4 weeks and ordered again. I was not able to see the total charge on the app for some reason. So, I just assumed I would get another stepped down discount as promised and as was done the last time I joined. This recent order was $159.63. I called and argued and was basically told- "too bad" and they did nothing. Never again! I feel stolen from!
Absolutely the worst service, overpriced food, incorrect orders, unprofessional and rude customer service all around, carriers hired do an extremely terrible job and they only have ONE job WHICH IS TO DELIVER THE PACKAGE. Carriers are the worst, drag their feet, quick to dump the packages in undesignated locations where they can get stolen and damaged before running off to finish early. I have no idea where they find these employees but it's laughable. Customer service representatives are also extremely rude and unprofessional, I wouldn't hire them to mow my lawn. BE WARE STAY AWAY
They sent me someone else's order and then refused to send me what I had actually ordered. Small portions,generic ingredients. It all went in the garbage. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this rip off of a company.
All i did was sign up and did not order anything they scammed my card! Dispute with bank don't let them scam you out your money. I am sure you looking for a way to spot the orders by now +1 *******663. Report better business bureau as well let's shut this company down. Class action
Several times me and my daughter skipped a week and a box was sent anyway and were charged for it. You can put skip and suddenly later it unskips and you are charged and sent a box you didn't order. Tried canceling five hours past deadline and customer service couldn't cancel. It was 5am! Unless you plan on getting every week don't use the service.
I've been through 9 boxes so far, ingredients were somewhat fresh. Don't bother calling they will just hang up on you. No help at all. Definitely worth going to another company. They charged my account after I cancelled my order. Beware of these scammers! Hopefully it will be the last time they charge my card
My son was victim of hello fresh. As a student he was convinced to sign up but mealboxes where not deliverd / received and he was 'sold" a weekly package of 3 mealboxes for 3 persons a week while he is a single student.
When wanting to talk to hello fresh they do not give any information nor allow to have a standard discussion on the topic. The phone was closed without any notice.

Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
